En 2000, Bev Bevan decidió abandonar ELO Part II y vendió su participación del 50 por ciento del nombre Electric Light Orchestra , así como los derechos del nombre ELO Part II, a Jeff Lynne . Lynne se convirtió así en propietaria total del nombre ELO y emprendió acciones legales para evitar que Mik Kaminski , Louis Clark , Parthenon Huxley , Eric Troyer y Kelly Groucutt siguieran llamándose a sí mismos "ELO Part II". Inicialmente intentaron cambiar su nombre a "ELO2" y "Electric Light Orchestra", pero finalmente decidieron cambiar su nombre a The Orchestra., elegido por su similitud con el nombre de la banda que Kelly Groucutt tuvo a finales de los 80 y principios de los 90 con Hugh McDowell y Kaminski, llamada OrKestra .

ELO Part II (5part The Orchestra - Show Sampler) In memory of Louis Clark

Terminamos este repaso a ELO part2 con un recopilatorio de trabajos en solitario de los miembros de ELO part2 y The Orchestra. Este post va dedicado al recientemente fallecido Louis Clark.

Louis Clark (Kempston, 27 de febrero de 1947 – Elyria, 13 de febrero de 2021)​  músico británico, reconocido por haber tocado los teclados o haber participado como arreglista en álbumes de bandas y artistas como Electric Light Orchestra, Ozzy Osbourne, Roy Orbison, America y Roy Wood, Electric Light Orchestra part2 y The Orchestra,entre otros.

Clark fue el director y arreglista de Electric Light Orchestra,  en su álbum Eldorado en 1974. Ayudó a Jeff Lynne y a Richard Tandy a crear los arreglos de cuerda de los álbumes de estudio Eldorado, Face the Music, A New World Record, Out of the Blue, Discovery y Xanadu. Posteriormente tocó los sintetizadores para la banda durante su gira Time. En 1983 participó en la grabación del álbum Secret Messages y en la consecuente gira.

Trabajo como arreglista para otros artistas y bandas como Ozzy Osbourne, Roy Orbison, Roy Wood, America, Kiki Dee y Asia,​ además de estar vinculado con la Royal Philharmonic Orchestra y la English Pops Orchestra. Fue miembro oficial de ELOpart2 y de The Orchestra.

En noviembre de 2011, el guitarrista Phil Bates dejó The Orchestra y Parthenon Huxley reclamó su puesto como guitarrista / cantante. Con Huxley, The Orchestra finalizó 2011 con una gira por 17 ciudades de Europa Central y Oriental, incluyendo paradas en Rusia, Ucrania, Bielorrusia, Polonia, Lituania y la República Checa. En 2013, The Orchestra realizó 35 espectáculos en todo el mundo, incluido un teletón nacional para la salud infantil en Ecuador. En 2014, la banda realizó una extensa gira por Estados Unidos, actuando con gente como Deep Purple y John Fogerty. The Orchestra también actuó en el Moody Blues Cruise de 2014 junto a Moody Blues, Roger Daltrey, Zombies y otros actos notables. El grupo volvió a salir de gira en el otoño de 2015.

Un documental de su evolución como banda, "No Rewind", se filmó en la Universidad Full Sail en Winter Park, Florida en 2016 y se proyectó por primera vez en el Festival de Cine de Rivertown en Clinton, Nueva Jersey en noviembre de 2017.

The Orchestra formada por ex miembros de Electric Light Orchestra y ELO Part II . Es la continuación de ELO Part II despues de la partida de Bev Bevan y la venta de su participación en los derechos del nombre ELO a Jeff Lynne.

No Rewind (2001)

No Rewind fue lanzado posteriormente en Argentina por Art Music en 2005 y reeditado en todo el mundo en 2006. The Orchestra realizó una extensa gira por el Reino Unido en 2006 después de la reedición mientras se promocionaba utilizando la frase descriptiva "Electric Light Orchestra Part II Former Members". Lynne demandó a The Orchestra, alegando infracción de marca registrada. El asunto fue a litigio y en agosto de 2006, un juez de Los Ángeles falló a favor de los miembros de The Orchestra. 

Durante la gira de The Orchestra por el Reino Unido en 2006, Phil Bates , ex miembro de Trickster, ELO Part II y Bev Bevan's Move , sustituyó al Parthenon Huxley en un par de conciertos cuando Huxley tuvo que regresar inesperadamente a Estados Unidos para asistir al funeral de su padre. . Electric Light Orchestra Part II, The Orchestra – Anthology - 20 Years And Counting...with ELO Part II AND The Orchestra

El 18 de febrero de 2009, el grupo regresó de un concierto con entradas agotadas en Berlín. Pero pocas horas después de regresar a casa, Kelly Groucutt sufrió un infarto y murió al día siguiente. La banda decidió continuar y trajo al ex de Styx Glen Burtnik en el bajo (Burtnik había reemplazado a Groucutt anteriormente durante una gira ELO Part II de 1998 cuando este último se había enfermado). El 17 de julio de 2009 abrieron para Alan Parsons Live Project en DTE Theatre en Clarkston, Michigan. El bajista alemán Ralf Vornberger también tocó con la banda en 2009 en Israel cuando Burtnik no estaba disponible debido a otros compromisos laborales reservados antes de unirse a la banda.
