Happy Day 4 of 2011!!!

Merry Belated Christmas and Happy Belated New Year!!

I have missed you guys...no really! Like you can obviously tell, I have been on a little bloggy hiatus. Things get a tad busy around here. First we had to prepare for Santa's visit, and then he left, leaving three-fourths of Target on my living room floor! Here are a couple of pics from our fabulous holiday...

Our Christmas Card pic. Look...everyone is looking at the camera!!! WooooHoooo!
Brocko tearing into a present. He had a blast, but was sick with the stomach bug the 2 days prior to Santa's visit. Poor fella.
Oh Vivi! Typical...a princess dress and snow boots! What a stinker!!
My bow heads!! These 2 danced their booties off to Michael Jackson's The Experience and Just Dance 2 over the break. They are getting soooo big!
We brought in the New Year quietly with "2011" pancakes on the morning of January 1st...what a treat!
I sure hope that you had a wonderful holiday! We did, but it came and went too quickly. We are now back at school and it is full steam ahead!!

Well, over my break I managed to get a good bit of scrapping in...wanna take a look? Let me begin with my projects for Right at Home!

Hopscotch With Adornit!!

Welcome to day 1 of the Adornit Blog Hop!!

Today we are kicking things off with a fun game of "hopscotch" to show off Adornit's super fab Misty Collection. I must say that the Misty Collection is one of my favorites...it is simply stunning. Here is a look at my project...

Yep, both cards were created using nothing but the Misty Collection. The sentiments are from a piece of patterned paper that has dozens of sweet sayings just perfect for cards!

Would you like to have Adornit's Misty Collection? Well, all you have to do is leave a comment on each of the designer's blogs (including mine), and finish up with a comment at the Adornit blog. Your name will then be entered into a drawing where one lucky chickie will win a super fab Misty prize package!!

Here is a look at today's hopscotch line-up. And if you haven't started at the beginning, don't worry you can pop back to the top of the list and visit those blogs you've missed. Don't forget to finish up at the Adornit blog and let them know what you think!!

We're Celebrating at the Paper Poppy!!

Hello! Wow, things have been busy, but I still have time to celebrate World Card Day with my Paper Poppy peeps! Yes, there is such a thing...It is actually a holiday especially for card makers around the world to celebrate the creativity of handmade cards and the personal connection that they create between friends and family....sweet huh? And here is my contribution...

Hey There Card

Well, finally I used that doily!! I have been trying to use this doily all month, and I finally did it! Isn't that just the sweetest flower? I just misted it, cut out the center, and glued it down in a circle with glue-dots...easy!! I also made a button out of the vintage milk cap...love that!!

We are actually having a little contest in celebration of World Card Day at the Paper Poppy! You can check out the details HERE.

Hope you join us...see ya soon!!

Card Day at Bo Bunny!

Happy Friday everyone!!! Yesterday, yes I know I am a day late, was Card Day at the Bo Bunny blog. I would love to say that I was off having the time of life in Cabo San Lucas, but I was actually sitting in a conference...I know, jealous aren't ya? But, better late than never, right? Here is a look at my card...

A Mother's Love
Supplies used: Olivia Stripe, Olivia Cashmere, Olivia Dot, Double Dot Ribbon, Olivia Combo Stickers, A Mother's Love Cardstock Sticker, BoBunny Assorted Buttons and Bling
I used the sweet Olivia Collection to create this card. My momma is coming to visit this weekend, and I thought that this would be just perfect to write a sweet note in for her. I usually tend to keep cards simple and clean, and I believe that I stayed true to that with this card. I essentially used 3 types of patterned paper...2 for the background and another for the flower. My favorite "new to me" technique was to tie a bow with twine on the back of a button...I just love that!!
Just so you know...you should really, really go and check out the Card Day post at the Bo Bunny blog! It is amazing!! The DT is so super talented. So talented that Tomoko's Halloween Pop-Up Card was 2 Pea's featured card yesterday...congrats chickie!!
Hope your Friday is going well...see ya soon!

*Brrrring* School's Back in Session!!

Hey there! As I mentioned before, we are back in school here in Louisiana, and the kids are having a ball! Boy, you gotta love that! I have the pleasure of working at the same school that my kids attend. We have only been there since last November, but it feels like we have been there all along. It is just the sweetest school, with class sizes averaging 15 kiddos per teacher, high expectations, and warm, loving teachers. Here is a look at my kiddos on their first day!

All 4 kiddos...begging to leave for their first day of school!!
And here is my sweet Vivi, after she has completed her 1st full day of kindergarten!!! Way to go Vivi!!All of these smiles would not be possible without the wonderful teachers at our school. They are the ones who make my kiddos, so excited about learning and success! So with that in mind, it is Thank You Card Day at the Bo Bunny blog today!! And since I am up to my ears in school right now, I feel it is necessary to say thank you to all of the wonderful teachers that make my kiddos so happy. So.....

Supplies used: Learning Curve Patterned Paper, Learning Curve Cutouts, Wild Berry Red Dot Cardstock, Learning Curve Combo Stickers, Learning Curve 12" Chipboard, Cambridge Combo Stickers, Wildberry Chunky Chips Chipboard Alphabet Stickers, Double Dot Ribbon, and Various Buttons

I sure had a ball with this card, and let me just say it is not quite so hard when you are working with the fun, new line Learning Curve. The background is from the Learning Curve Cutouts paper...it is super fun to work with. The cutouts incorporate different elements from the collection, except on a smaller scale. The chipboard alphas also make me quite happy. I used the Cuttlebug Dotted Swiss Embossing folder for that effect. It was really quite simple, but I love its impact!

Thanks for stopping by today, and make sure and stop by the Bo Bunny blog to get an eye full of "Thank You" inspiration...tootles!!

Fun With Pebbles!!

Good morning! I am not sure, but I think that I might be getting anxious for school to start. Now I am not talking about excited anxious, just pressure anxious. I find myself staying up late, late, late to get things done around my house. And when I say "things done," I am including some scrappy to-dos. #1 on scrappy list this past week was to create a few projects with the oh so yummy Pebbles. If you like color and whimsy, it is your kind of line...LOVE it!! Take a look at my projects...

Love You Card
Made with the oh so sweet Twitterpated Collection...sigh. It is a mix of pinks, yellows, greens, and browns...just perfect for girls! I created a card with a grid...love that. The circle is actually a binder ring that I tied a bunch of coordinating ribbon, and included the sentiment in the center.

Home, Tweet, Home

Now this little diddy was created with the Tree House Collection. And when this line came out last year, I knew that I had to have some in my stash. It is so rich in bright colors, so typical Pebbles. And birdhouses? Who doesn't love birdhouses? Yes, I know the "Home, Tweet, Home" line has been done a few times before, but it is new to me! I began this project by altering a frame with brown acrylic paint and white crackle paint...interesting don't ya think? The backdrop is all of the sides of the patterned paper, arranged to look like a patchwork quilt. The birdhouse and birdy were both created by mimicking a shape from the paper. Love it!

Peace, Love, and Happiness

This is certainly my most favorite Pebbles line to date. It is an old one, but man it is pretty. So Tweet is the name of the collection, and it is still available if you like it. And I don't know if you believe it, but this layout took the longest to create. Those flowers are not stickers...I cut each and every one of those bad boys from a piece of patterned paper! But certainly worth my time, don't ya think?

Grow Together

Here is Twitterpated again...love it!! This collection was just perfect for these sweet pics of my 2 oldest chicks. I incorporated some of my most favorite things to do these days...paper strips, handmade embellishments, and layering embellies. Simply said...I had some fun with this one!

If you have the time you should really stop by their blog for a bit of inspiration. You can check it out HERE. It really is a fun place to visit!! Thanks for stopping by...off to let the tile man in the house to tile the 2 upstairs bathrooms!! Wish me luck!!
