Scorpions - Kaleidospop 1977

*THANKS TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER

You know, my favorite era with Scorpions is the Uli Roth years. I feel after he left they kinda took a nosedive. "Lovedrive" pretty much stinks, "Animal Magnetism" has it's moments but after that I quit listening. When they signed to RCA that was/is their crowning moment, and for the most part it's all cause of Uli Roth. Do yourself a favor check out their RCA years. Short set hear but this will give you a taste of what you might have missed during those RCA years.

Songs

1.All Night Long

2.Pictured Life

3.Backstage Queen

4.Polar Nights

5.In Trance

6.Speedy's Coming

7.Dark Lady

8.Robot Man

Sweet Pickle Salad

An Excellent And Rare Recording !

The "Sweet Pickle Salad" group/sessions happened after the "Tall" sessions ended and before the "Amorica" session began, about February, 1994 in Los Angeles. The group was made up of most of the folks that played the Foamfoot show: Chris Robinson on vocals, Marc Ford on lead, Andy Sturmer(Jellyfish) on drums, Jimmy Ashurst (Ju Ju Hounds) on bass with the addition of Craig Ross on guitar and Roger Manning (Jellyfish) on keyboards. In articles around that time there were reports that they were going to release it. The style of the music is described by Chris - "The songs sound like a cross between CSNY and Pink Floyd, every song is like 10 minutes long."

Tom Waits - Live @ McCabe's Guitar Shop - Santa Monica, CA Jan. 31, 1975

If you're a fan of Waits' early bohemian-hipster-gutter-poet phase, this is a wonderful showcase. His stage banter is delivered with a sly wink, and doesn't sound too laid-back or too forced. The thing I love about the recording presented here is that even though it is a SBD, it sounds a bit like an old 78 record. Which gives the whole Tom Waits' musical thing the perfect ambiance. So sit back, pour a drink, light a smoke, and dig these tunes.   Brought to you in Mp3 @ 320.

Enjoy. Or not.
