Recorded live at Finchley Cricket Club, Finchley, London, UK, 14 August 1986

"Stan Webb's Chicken Shack was booked to play a gig at Finchley Cricket Club on August 14, 1986. Eric Clapton turned up with a guitar rather than a bat and joined in. Besides the usual Stan repertoire they also played "Cocaine", "Sweet 16" and a stirring version of "Further On Up The Road" with Stan and Eric trading riffs and licks."

Marcus Miller and Eric Clapton - Legends Rehearsals 1997

Rebooted...
Originally posted April 18, 2014

Marcus Miller and Eric Clapton
Legends Studio Rehearsals Summer 1997
Studio Soundboards @320 aka - Flawless

From the Dave Sez archive: another set of top-quality Clapton tour rehearsals, this time with Marcus Miller and his band called Legends, formed in 1997 for an eleven-date European Jazz Festival tour (several of which gigs were recorded and are available on request). At the time, Clapton was going through a mental storm and doubting his ability to play anything else but the blues. Marcus shook him up and offered jazz .. and some blues. Included here from the LA rehearsal studios but never played live on the European tour are the only recordings of Marcus on "Layla" and Clapton on guitar and vocals on Miller's "Silver Rain". The ultimate Marcus, Clapton rarity.

Geetarz Comments:

Excellent soundboard taken from what appear to be near-final rehearsals for the "Legends" summer 1997 tour of Jazz Festivals.

Visitor Comments:

"An outstanding recording, both in terms of sound quality and playing quality. The Legends summer is one of the few occasions since Cream that EC has played with musicians who can truly be called peers. My own suspicion is that these tracks (the first CD anyway - the second CD sounds more like rehearsals) are from an aborted album (aborted by EC's manager, Roger Forrester, who would never let anyone else share the bill with Eric). An absolute gem." - aLPHONSE gRETZ

Originally posted April 21, 2014

Eric Clapton - Live Binyanei Ha'Ooma
Jerusalem, Israel
October 27, 1979
aka The Lost Israel Tapes
Excellent Audience recording @320

Tourography:According to Mark Roberty's book,
"The Complete Chronicle", there was only one show in Jerusalem
on October 27. There exists a tape claimed to be recorded
on October 29 in Jerusalem. During this tour Eric used to play
(at least) two concerts in several cities, so it's not unlikely that
he performed two shows in Jerusalem, too. The happening of
this October 29 concert is solely based upon the audience
recording which, of course, may be originated from the
October 27 show, being labeled incorrectly.

Disc 1:
1. If I Don't Be There By Morning
2. Worried Life Blues
3. Tulsa Time
4. Early In The Morning
5. Lay Down Sally

Nice 'board!

www.geetarz.org Visitor Comments:
"This show in Detroit has turned up on a number of titles including the dodgy Creamset on Gold Standard. It's a very good show rightly regarded by Cream fans as one of the best of the late '67 tour of the US. For its vintage, the recording is very good and you can really hear why Cream had such an impact as a live act. On Sweet Wine and Rollin' and Tumbin' Ginger and Jack really lock together allowing Eric free rein to shine: and shine he does. Highly recommended. - DR"

Enjoy!
