Friday with Friends Feature

I'm back to share my first project for a new series I thought I would begin here on my blog:  Friday with Friends.  In this series, a crafting friend and I will each make a project using a specific product and share it on our respective social media.  The first friend I paired up with is Kathy Nakata.  In addition to working at the same company, Kathy and I share a mutual love of stamping and cats!  Therefore it was only appropriate that the product we chose involved kitties.  We selected Avery Elle's Furry Friends stamp set to work with.  I decided to use the napping cat image and colored him to look like my own gray kitty, Augie.  Sometimes I wonder what cats dream about when they sleep, especially when their faces start twitching!  Perhaps they dream about their favorite toys and snacks, so that's what I added to my card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  If you'd like to participate in my Friday with Friends feature, please let me know!

Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

It's Memorial Day weekend here in the United States.  I think for many of us, we consider it the unofficial start of summer.  Yesterday it was a gorgeous, sunny 75 degree day in the Pacific Northwest and it sure felt like summer!  Today looks like it will be a bit cooler here, and right now the sky is overcast and displaying one of our 50+ shades of gray ;-).

Even if it's cloudy outside, it's sunny inside my craft room as I whipped up my card for the Spring/Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  My beverage of choice is black coffee, but a hot drink isn't what I usually crave in the warmer months.  I spotted this fun bubble tea paper in a scrapbook store when I was down in Oregon last month visiting my bestie and picked it up for my stash.  I used the Stay Cool stamp set and Cool Cup die from My Favorite Things; to make the "bubbles," I used the mini marshmallow die from the Hot Cocoa Cups die collection from My Favorite Things and die cut them in black cardstock.

Now I'm not a huge fan of bubble tea myself.  The tapioca balls just aren't my thing (I think it's the texture that gets to me).  But I think the drink sure looks pretty!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Can't wait to check out the rest of the projects.  I'm a bit late to the party!

February 2018 PTI Blog Hop

Happy Sunday!  I'm back to share my card I made for the February 2018 Papertrey Ink blog hop.  We were given a photo of a delightful Easter table scape as the inspiration for this month's challenge.  After a long, cold and snowy winter, I think most of us are ready for spring to arrive.  I took this opportunity to create my first Easter card of the year and pulled out Cloche Quarters, Cloche Quarters: Spring Fillers, Friendship Jar: Spring Fillers and Tulip Time.

Papertrey Ink 11th Anniversary: Stripes Challenge

I'm back with my final card for the anniversary challenges, which was to create a project with stripes.  I opted to make a coffee themed card and stamped the tall mug from the Warm Happiness set with stripes in multiple colors.  The sentiment is from Warm Happiness Too.  These are some of my favorite stamp sets!

Papertrey Ink 11th Anniversary: Color Challenge

I'm back to share my project for the color challenge.  I chose to use Amy's color scheme and tried out the Heart & Sole stamp and dies for the first time.  And hey--I'm ahead of the game with my first Father's Day card!

Thanks for stopping by!  T minus five minutes until the release goes live tonight!

Papertrey Ink 11th Anniversary: No Stamps Challenge

I'm back to share my project for the No Stamps challenge as part of the Papertrey Ink 11th Anniversary festivities.  I'm still making Valentine cards at the 11th hour, so added this card to my stack of cards to send:

The large floral patterned paper heart die cut was one I found it my stash; I think the heart is from Memory Box.  I also die cut a pink vellum heart from the Limitless Layers Hearts collection and added that on top of the patterned paper heart.  I topped off both hearts with the Big Basics:  Love You die cut and a sprinkling of mini heart stickers.  I added the heart die cuts to a piece of foiled watercolor card stock from Momenta and adhered everything to a card base.  Simple card that packs a pretty punch of pink loveliness!  This card will go to my sister.

Papertrey Ink Anniversary Challenge: Retirement List Set

Papertrey Ink has quite an extensive list of stamps set for retirement this year.  I was glad to see that I have most of the ones that I want, and there were only a few that are on my wish list, so should be easy to add those before they are officially gone in May.  Today's challenge was to make a card using one of the stamp sets on the retirement list.  It's no secret I love coffee, so it was an easy choice for me to decide to use the Latte Love set.  The bright and cheery colors on the dot patterned paper inspired the color scheme for my card.
