did you know what Sat 29th is...?

Yes, you read that right, October 29th is
            National Cat Day

Yesterday I googled, “How to boil an egg.”

Don’t laugh! I have boiled an egg before. But
sometimes the yolk is too soft, and sometimes it turns green. And
the shell never, ever comes off nicely.  So I went seeking
wisdom, and guess what? I actually learned a thing or two! (Add
salt to the water; the eggs will peel like magic. True story.)

Today’s Super Simple Squares Quilt is as easy
as boiling an egg - maybe easier- but you can count on Jenny to
show you the slickest, most efficient way to make it. Click
HERE to watch the tutorial! You’ll be glad you
            did!

After a long long wait...the postman delivered two boxes

 Kraft paper and white cards

Since I finished a smaller roll last night....I hope this one lasts a while.
Guess which black bandit is trying to sneak into Mummy's bed?

Hopefully I will find these sentiments very useful in the long term.

Parting with the Pansy fabrics

I have come to the point where I will never use all my fabrics to I am selling most of them for $10 a metre or yard, whichever it happens to be.  I am also measuring by the metre for things that are not either a fat quarter or a half yard or yard.  Hope that makes sense.
I am too weary to haggle and while I will try to be as accurate as possible it is more likely they will be over the stated measurement than under it.
But I am not into being blamed if it is a few cm short.
But I will make every effort to be helpful.
However I cannot drag crates around as I once could and measuring is difficult when my shoulders do not work correctly.

I had sit and sew here on Thursday and sat and measured and photographed about a quarter of the crate.  The ones below are the ones that do not fit the bulk of the pansies which belong in the middle group.

These are mainly long quarters.  .25+ most of them.
This is a very small selection of my main pansy fabrics of this type.  I have mainly 1 mt here.  But have larger pieces of some and have many others that I want to cut a .25 length before I sell them
I have been going to  make a pansy quilt for years.

These are mostly fat quarters.  The multiple colours above would be lovely in a baby or young girls quilt.  They are very soft and delicate and the plains are slightly mottled

I have lots of collections, cats, Christmas, butterflies, sewing, music, Japanese, batiks, children in fact most categories...not a heap of novelty fabrics.
I have sold half my fossil ferns to a friend...I have a crate of fairy frost ...mainly fat quarters and have lots of crates arranged in colours. Australian, Autumn????  I am a bit brain dead tonight.
If you want something special write to me and I will try and sort them for you.

I have post office bags to post in.  Up to ones that take 5kg

Loot delivered by Postie and Delivery Van

Some from eBay, the wooden ones which I will take off the wood and the Christmas set.

I found it as I was throwing the rubbish out.  It is a mini so was easily hidden

or cuddles up to Mummy.
Scrapbook .com.  Lovely stuff and lovely shipping to Australia...but these were a good purchase.
Ms Mogs approves of this one.
the stamp and die came together for a very nice price.  I like some die cut sentiments

Obviously my photography skills dip out at times when confronted with shiny paper.

More playing with toys

I am trying out different materials...this is Tombow markers and a water brush.
This is Albrecht Durer water color pencils and waterbrush.
This is the better in real life.  Neither has photographed well.
Stencil with an embossing pen and silver embossing powder.  First real try with the embossing pen.
Playing with cutting out the picture and while the balance is all wrong, I am learning.  Slowly but it is happening.  I put this one in the card shape to see what it looked like.
We learn...eventually I Hope.

The Postie delivered both a parcel and goodies in the letter box.

Excuse the lack of glamour in the photos...things were tossed on the floor late at night and quick photos taken.
Now I need to work out why I ordered each of these glorious goodies.  Well that is not quite right.  I do know how and why with most of them but some tutorials will be in order.

Delivery is amazingly prompt these days.
I did manage to get some of the mounting foam tapes locally but having been in bed for a few weeks with bronchitis...it was diverting to be able to order some goodies on line.
I will have to investigate these two pens a little more closely.
they are Tombow Mono Glue pen which I believe will both glue and emboss...we shall see, or shall revisit the tutorials. The Zig pen is the Zig Kuretake Memory System Wink of Stella Marker pen GL Clear.
The Wink of Stella Pen in the previous lot is, I think Silver.

The fact that I have ordered two lots of foam tape could suggest I need to keep a clear copy of what I order but I do think they are different widths.
The only defence I can claim this late at night.

I have heard that if you use StazOn ink which is my favorite stamp pad that you need to use the cleaner so here it is.
I am looking forward to playing with the glossy accents.
These toys came from Scrap dragon whom I have purchased goodies from in the past.
