Peeping out of my hole again

It is almost the end of Autumn
I cannot get pictures from this year to go into the blog so this is one from last year.
The leaves are falling more and more each day and the vines are very evident.
Winter is about three days away.

I have just survived my first cataract operation.  Much better than I expected although not being allowed to wash hair for five more days is somewhat deflating.
I am also not allowed to drive but am encouraged to rest.  Sounds reasonable to me!!

I had a kind friend take me to the day hospital yesterday morning.  Poor lady had to sign me out and take responsibility for me.  First time that has ever happened.  No going home in a taxi.  They also checked that she was staying the night.  Warned me not to make important decision which I thought was a bit of a hoot.

I had to visit the surgeon this morning and lost the eye patch and he is in no hurry to do the second eye.  Somewhat surprised me as I assumed both of them were pretty much the same.
I see him again in a month.

I seem to be able to read a magazine without reading glasses but equally my normal glasses still seem OK.

So that is another mend and repair to the aged body.

Took devotions in my normal monthly nursing home visit on Tues, so was blessed to get that in while I was still able to drive.  Did shopping on the way home and made a lasagne to feed us for a couple of days.

I think my aim has to be to work out how to add pictures to this blog once more and sort out Picasa on this computer.  I have a spare hard drive that is being downloaded onto a new one so I am hoping that this may sort out some of the visual problems.

I have discovered Bible Art Journaling on Pinterest.  I also googled images./
So far I am at the collecting materials stage whilst doing scribbles in a notebook.
This is a really scary challenge for me as I cannot draw an image for toffee.
Thank goodness for new gel stamps and other means of transferring images.  I have found that I can copy a little better than I can draw from the non artistic brain.

My kind friends will affirm that one of my worst habits is to collect all that I need, but fail to really use all that I have collected.
I am trying to do better this time.
This is the journaling bible I have purchased with extra wide margins.

Nothing like the excitement of new pages.  I wrote and underlined heaps in my Bible in my three years in Bible College and after..........this Bible with large margins would have been so wonderful and now it is for the specific purpose of bringing verses to life......I shall practice a lot in other journals before things actually hit these pages.

Watch this spot.  We may see something one day.

Yes I am alive

This. must surely be the longest gap in blog posting over the many years that this blog has been in action.   A definite period of inaction.
Teeth, tiredness, a little sad pit time...lots of lovely opportunities to take devotions...has kept my mind a little active.   Very little sewing, lots of staying home. Tablet rather than computer has taken up time.   Somehow we fail to subtract when we add toys.
I found Pinterest...or it found me....another addition and no subtraction
I have had some bulbs planted in the garden...it is now the last month of a rather cold Autumn here in Australia.  I ordered the last bundle of tulips and double daffodils last night.
Am enjoying the blues and purples of the Salvia bushes that come into their own at this time of the year.
Having a cataract removed in a month....last year was a surgery free year, just Cardiologist,  ( all ok)
And respiratory people...not so helpful, so adequate breath is still a issue at times.  New medication seems to be helping.
Will need to add photos from Computer tomorrow.
