Post Christmas Sales

I think I went shopping for the first time since before Christmas.........and I think I might have purchased a lovely large nativity from Bevilles.  Mega price drop and mega bargain .

I have a large blister on my right foot...in the arch on the outside edge and it is sore.  And that was my last pair of comfortable shoes.

I might have gained a few more bags and baubles at 70% off.

I hope I also dropped a couple of kg from sheer exhaustion.  I will dream on!

Post Boxing Day.......and not all boxed back in crates.

My lovely Cleo's Mother sewed this wonderful stocking for me.

I thought it was machine embroidery.

It is very beautiful stitching and I am very blessed to have it.

It is very unusual to find anything vaguely Christmassy around here after boxing day........which to me means boxing up all the decorations.......however
this year my handyman is away and somehow I have managed to tolerate the decorations.

My nice big white JOY was a half price find at Spotlight.

I love the words of faith and the Christmas season so could not resist this one.

And I had similar trouble leaving behind the blue tree that fits in with the teal in this room.

One day I shall have the useless air conditioner taken out and a window or glass bricks put in its place.

The lovely bear candle holder is one of a pair...my friend gained the two bears nose to nose for Christmas and is getting another like this for her birthday,   I forgot to order another one of the two big bears for me.

My lounge room wall that backs onto the passage is still in place.
I have a good excuse not to play the piano at the moment..

I have managed not to go out ...except for a quick visit to a friend, since Christmas so have not added any bargains to the collection.

I would love to wave a magic wand and have these all packed up and back in crates and in the shed.

Hidden for another 11 months.

MOGGIE AND I HAD A VISIT FROM A BEAUTIFUL FURRY BABY GIRL CALLED CLEO

My Mummy just adores me and thinks I am better than any sliced bread you could ever make or even dream of.            My name is Cleo and I am 6.5 weeks old and I only left my Mummy and huge Daddy and all my brothers and a sister today.  I have a smelly rug to remind me of my family and tonight I will meet the rest of my new family.   I met Ms Moggie today and she was a good girl and came and looked me over and only hissed once.     The markings on my coat are very special and we went for a walk in the garden.

Eating rose leaves was fun but my Auntie was not too impressed by that.

I like tugging on this thing around my neck.

Auntie thinks I am very cuddly an very special and she was so excited to meet me on my way home.

Moving into the front hall and then my bedroom.

Duck as you walk in the front door if you are very tall.

This is what greets you as you enter the front door.  Complete with walking stick.  My Harrods Bear has a Christmas cummerbund and Harold from the Windsor Hotel has a neck bow.  They are my concierge.

This is at the end of my bed,  The TV is along one wall near the door.

3rd installment of Christmas '13

We move to the other half of the main lounge room.

This fills the front window.

The wall to the right has a chest of Drawers inherited from Mother, the piano and another cabinet of Mums.  Red on the drawers, gold on the piano and a crocked cat hanging.

The top of the drawers and some cards in picture frames to replace the non Christmas normal stuff.

More crooked pictures.

I know the curtains are old.....I made them in '80 and I also know they are old fashioned and I also know I like them and it is my house to Phutt to fashion!
 Christmas blues on the sofa.

This blue Christmas quilt on the sofa drives me quietly nuts as it needs straightening each time I lie down.

On the TV cabinet.

On top of the gas heater.

2nd look at Christmas '13 at Moggies House.

We shall move into the backroom and which flows into the main lounge.

I originally had the red baubles on the white tree, then changed it to blue, before changing it again to teal.

So needed to buy a tree for the red baubles and the back window looking out into the back garden is a good spot.

Moggie likes to sit underneath it and manages to be so very good and not play with baubles.

If they are on the ground or on a shelf or the table, then the game is on.

My original tree is actually the second tree I have owned but it is very old now and sits on Mum's glory box in the center of the back room.

They look close in the photo but there are a couple of yards in between.

The little table at the back has a gold sleigh with gold baubles in it.

My original tree in the '70's was silver with pale teal coloring baubles on it.  Some in the picture below.

The lamp matches the white tree.

Baskets of baubles up on high places.

I do have a couple of small green trees.

Am considering a larger green one in the after Christmas sales to go outside the front door next year.

Assuming I shall do all this nonsense again next year!

Joy is such a gift of the Christ of Christmas.

I love to celebrate Joy.

MS Moggie in the alternate place to my lap.

The plates for this Christmas Dresden plate quilt were initially gained from a Southern Cross Quilters Swap some long years ago and I added to them over the years and sewed them onto the backing, forgetting to leave fabric for the centers so was able to find some Battenburg Lace doilies.  It was quilted by Natalie from The Quilting Bug.

One of my many bookshelves with a few added Christmas touches.  A little hard to see glass plates.    My Mother painted the Christmas tree plate.

I love my sheep and this
Nativity scene to the left of the silver and red tree in the back window.

The Bible is old and very valued as it was given to me when I was off to spend three years in Bible College, now Melbourne School of Theology, and it has tiny notes which I could certainly no longer write and probably have trouble reading.
Poems in back and front pages.

Jan Pienkowski

A book I have had since my teaching days.

Have another one I must find....in fact there
is a collection of Christmas books in the Picture Story area.

I awoke from a dream where I had ended up in a school that had a disgracefully old library with no picture story books at all and I was on the warpath in full teacher librarian mode.

I will add the other end of the main lounge room tomorrow.  Enough for one day here.
