For a baptism

This Saturday the first of my nieces is getting baptised,
so I needed to have a card ready for that.

The papers are all from Maja Design. I also used doilies, and
my Marthe Stewart Lace edge puncher.

The flowers and pins are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The rustic heart, lace, cloth and seam binding ribbon I got at Ribbon Girl.
I rarely use my own handwriting on my crafting,
but it will do for this time.

I added round pearls and flat back pearls to the ribbon,

Buttons from Ribbon Girl,
and charms on a twine string from RG too.

I think this big flower is from Prima. I added some Star Dust Stickles,
and a crystal pendant. The leafes are Magnolia Doohickeys,
cut out from an old book page.

A gift from the heart

This is so far the last of the left over cards I made earlier.
This one is mostly made from Pion design paper,
I think. The sentiment is from Magnolia,
and I used a paper doily and a lace doily cut from
an old and stained table cloth that I found in a secon hand shop.

Christmas Fair, Cards, Matchboxes and more

Yesterday I participated in our little country Christmas Fair
with my mother in law who makes these beautiful candles,
and a friend of hers who sells santas and a bit of this and that
to decorate with. Love thos Santas, I got one for Christmas a few
years ago, a bit smaller than theese though.

So as we where getting redy for the opening of the fair,
I realised I forgot to take images for my blog.
I have been making a few cards,
decorating lots of matchstick boxes,
and I even made some gift tags.
So this post is just a mix of all the things
I made for the fair, not everything will be shown up close,
but some things I will participate in challenges with,
and for those I will link to the challenge under the picture
that goes with it. I hope that wont be too messy.

Starting out with some images from our stand at the fair.
The lighting was dark and cosy, and we dont have much daylight
right now either way, so getting proper images can be tricky.

Some matchboxes and a bag-card,
a bit of a white and vintage corner. :)

More matchboxes, a great way to use left over paper!
I also used some stickers from Heartwarming Vintage,
they are so pretty but I struggle to use them.

This Edwin-card I have posted earlier,
and one of the larger matchboxes,
decorated in a clean and simple manner.

I rarely make anything special of gift tags,
I just dont have enough of a surface to work with,
and I struggle to balance anything out.
For the fair I actually made six pacages with five tags in each,
three with thees tags, and three with star shapes,
as you can see in the next picture.
I used Magnolia Doohickeys for both,
a mixture of cardboard, kraft and vanilla paper,
distressed the edges with Walnut stain,
and stamped a sentiment on all the tags
(except for the one with the Martha Stewart
snowflake punch-out). The sentiments are from
Lili of the Valley, and the one in Norwegian
I think is from Papirloftet.
For a finishing touch I misted the tags with
Glimmer Mist Chalkboard.

On each of the pacages of tags I added some Christmas Charms too.
The star tags have the sentiments "Peace", "Love", "Joy" and "Noel",
along with the norwegian "God Jul".

Begge knippene med til/fra-lapper ønsker jeg å
delta til Card and Scraps utfordring.

This card is a bag card, the image is from a Pion paper,
and I also love the pion patterned paper. I used my
snowflake edge die from Tim Holtz, a Storyteller Poinsettia,
and a ribbon to tie the card shut.

This card is one of my favourites from this season.
It is another paper bag card, for this I used my Martha Stewart
doily hearts edge puncher.
I love the papers from Pion,
and I also used a Doohickey tag, decorated with a
Prima Trinket and a heart pearl charm, tied with string.
but it is a bit out of focus. I used cloth, lace, striped ribbon,
BoBunny searl swirls, some red berries and a rose,
and my last tiny little cinnamon stick.

With this card  above I wish to join Deep Ocean Challenge,
favourite color combo. For Christmas my favourite colors
are white, craft(vintage brown) and deep red.
Jeg ønsker også å delta på Vintage Utfordring - Jul.

These are large matchboxes. I added handles from Tim Holtz,
and left over papers. For the left one I used two doilies and a die cut,
cinnamon sticks and cloth, a red ribbon, and a bell tied with string.
For the right one I used my Martha Stewart lace edge puncher,
a little lace, a snowflake from Melissa Franses that I paintet white
and decorated with a pearl and string,
and I dabbet some liquid pearl around the box.

Jeg deltar med begge fyrstikkeskene til Nordsalten Hobbyklubb
sin utfordring "lys", og også til Vintage Utfordring - Jul.

Another one of my Pion papers, just love them!
This one was a lot of work and punching,
I layered strips punched with my lacy Martha Stewart Punch,
and cut the tree shape afterwords. I used tape from Panduro,
and covered the tree with LOTS of Star Dust Stickles.

Med dette kortet ønsker jeg å delta hos Kort O Mania sin juleutfordring.

And for last, I just want to show off my new Holiday decorations,
the first one up this year. I just love colors like this for Christmas,
but at the same time I like the clean "northern" style with lots of white
and nature, and vintage style too.  I suppose I'll find myself a nice blend
after a few years, make it personal. :)

Hope this post was not to cluttered and messy,
and that it broke no challenge rules.
I wish you all a lovely week!

Sketchy

I got my scrap room all set up yesterday, and then I invited my
sister-in-law over to break it in. I made three cards, one of them was this,
done after the sketch at Sketchy Colors.

The papers are from Pion. I used a sentiment from Papirloftet,
flowers from WOC, and a swirl die.
 Blogland seems a bit quiet,
maybe everyone is traveling?
Hope you all enjoy the last weeks of summer.

Fantastic Four?

Four more of the "simple" cards I am making for selling at the store.
Simple may be the wrong term though,
most of the times I struggle more with these than I to with my
shabby and over-detailed-lots-of-layers-magnolia-cards.
So clean/simple is totally not the same as easy!
As I am wrighting this I am lying flat on my couch,
just worn out from painting ceilings and walls etc. in our new house,
and preparing "the big move".
Lots of hard work ahead...

The paper is from Maja Design and the sentiment is Magnolia.
I have used a doily and flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I believe the paper is from Bo Bunny, I just love it but it never
went with anything I wantet to make.
I added a sentiment from Papirloftet, and a strip of lace
and a couple of pearls.

This little monster I got in a secret friend-swap once.
The front of the card is layered and pieced together with
left over paper pieces.

For this I used Maja Papers, tags, string and an envelope.
The tickets are from Tim Holtz,
and a bit of pacaging from Prima. The image is from Sagen,
I think?

1 Bazzil - 3 cards

So Sunday turned out to be a massive card-day,
I actually made seven cards in total.
These three where made from one Bazzil Cardstock
that I split into three 4x6 cards.
Cards like this is what I sell most of,
and the store has been clean out of cards for ever now,
so I am making up a batch to last for some time,
I hope. :)

This one was made without any Designer Paper.
All four sides is covered with paper from an old book.
I used a doily, some pearls, roses from WOC,
and a plastic branch. The image is from Pretty Vintage, I think.

These papers are from My Minds Eye, I love their style!
I used a sentiment and one single rose.

On this last card I used papers from Maja Design,
a vintage image from Sagen I think, and seem binding ribbon
and a key.

Hope you are having a better July than we are,
I have hardly seen the sun since June.

Spring light

I realized I forgot to show you guys this simple vintage card I
made for my stepmoms birthday.
I love the image from Pretty Vintage, but if was hard to use and find
the right design for it.
I used paper from Maja Design, a doily, flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts,
lace and jute and ribbon and pearls from Ribbon Girl.

Baby's firsh Christmas *New sketch at CLP*

Today is the first day of November. Can anyone please but a few more
weeks in between now and Christmas? I have so much schoolwork to do,
and just no desire, ideas or inspiration that helps me to do it.
Feel a bit like I'm drowning under the pressure.

Oh well, enough complaining.
This is my take on this months gorgeous sketch at CLP Challenges!
I used papers from Inkido, they are so lovely for Christmas.

And this is what the sketch looks like. :)
Hope you'll pop by to join us, as this is the last sketch of 2012!

This is the first time I use this adorable image, it was given
to me by my dear sweet Elaine. Thank youu!

I colored him/her with Distress Reinkers,
and used Star Dust Stickles on the fur,
and Liquid Pearl around him.

I colored the seem binding ribbon myself, I wanted more
of the dark red in the details.
I used Aged Mahogany, a little drop of Vintage Photo and a drop
of Fired Brick, plus Chalkboard Glimmer Mist.
The heart charm, the mesh and the velvet ribbon are
from Ribbon Girl.

The flowers I have used are mainly from WOC,
and the bling strips are from Storyteller.

These little flowers are from Kutt Ut,
and I think that last flower is from Papirloftet.
I also used a bit of cheese cloth, but I don't like this one,
it is way to fine.

I used a sentiment that says Merry Christmas in Norwegian,
I think it is from Papirloftet.

Hope you all will have a wonderful November!

Got the sniffles?

I made another Kleenex cover, and I have several more to make.
Yesterday I even started to ink up a few images,
and I'll try to make some cards today.
Hopefully the drought is over. :)

Sorry about the messy images! I don't have a good place to
take pictures of larger creations. Guess I should buy that photo tent I'we
been wanting for a while now, because soon it wont be much daylight here at all.

The paper I have used is from Pion. Love the color of it!
This box is intended for my uncle, so I tried to make it not so feminin.

This time I used some flowers. The colors I chose was inspired
by another one of the papers in this series.

The bottle is from Panduro, and inside it is a piece of the same paper
that is on the box. The flowers are from WOC.

The berries are from Storyteller, I think.

The lace was a gift, and the button is vintage.

I got a few questions about how I made the last box.
This is how I cut the paper, I even added the strip at the bottom that
I don't use. So I only have to use one sheet of bazzil, and possibly one
sheet of design paper, that depends on the pattern on the paper.

This is how it looks from the bottom. There is no bottom,
so its just a hollow cover that I put on the box. That makes it easy to change the
kleenex box, but it is still quite solid and easy to grab. I know that,
because I've had a box like this in my living room for more than a year. :)

A bit of a follow up on the snow picture.
The weather have been so terrible, it has been almost stormy for days.
Rain and snow and hail and sleet.
Yesterday it cleared up for a while, so Sofie and I snuck out and made a snowman.
I haven't done that in so many  years, but I think he turned out quite handsome. ;)

Christmas Kleenex

To all my followers, I just want to say I am so sorry!
I have been a terrible blogger lately.
I have just been going through this scrap-drought,
and in between school, a bit of work, and working out,
I just didn't have the time or energy to scrap or blog.
I just didn't want to either.

Yesterday I finally got this wave over me,
and I made this Kleenex cover with  my daughter hanging over me.
We had a real nice time together.

I have decided to make a few of these to give away this Christmas,
so I really hope the drought is over.

Winter suddenly came, so the lighting was bad.
In order to get a close to normal shot, I had to put my box in the window.
I used Christmas papers from Inkido, I just love them!

The ribbon that goes around the box I believe was a gift from some
sort of swap. The seem binding ribbon is from WOC.
I used my Martha Stewart Snowflake punch, and covered the snowflakes
with Icicle Stickles, and a bling from Ribbon Girl in the center.

I have to say, I love this piece of bling that I got from Ribbon Girl!
They have so much nice stuff!

And at last I want to show you quickly what we woke up to today.
We had maybe an inch of snow yesterday, and it came down hard
all night (its still snowing like crazy!).
I hope you will forgive me for being such a crappy blog friend,
and I hope you are all having a wonderful week!

Four simple cards

This last days I haven't been very creative.
Work and school and mum and working out,
boy the days go bye so fast.

I want to show you some more simple cards I have made lately.
I am still fighting the urge to over-embellish,
but I am finally getting some use out of a lot of great left over paper.

The paper is from Poppy design, I love it!
I made like a little doily or something, I had to stop myself at the end,
it was getting very tall. :p

This adorable paper is so fun, but I struggled a bit more with this card.
The sentiment is a sticker. I embellished with Prima flowers and swirl,
and a flower ribbon. I used a lot of Candy Cane Stickles.

Here I used Magnolia Paper. Just love this one.
The bird I have been holding on to for a while.
I finally used it now, and debated with myself for a long time about
what to do. I ended up covering it with swirls, pearls and Stickles.

And finally a birthday card. I was really not inspired when I  made this,
but I had the image lying ready to go, and I needed a card for a man,
so I whippet this up.

Thank you all for bothering to visit me,
I really appreciate it!
Hope you are having a wonderful fall.
Here it has been raining a lot,
but today seems like a good day,
so hopefully I'll have the time to sneak out.
