Hello Singapore!

Well, it's actually 'so-long Singapore' as I write this post. Battling against bleary jet-lag may mean a bit of rambling today... The couch feels like it's moving underneath me, but I will persist!

Our five day trip had three purposes - having some tailor made shirts and suits stitched up for NP, to eat good food and to relax. All were accomplished, along with some sight-seeing ta'boot.

Highlights included our stay at The Fullerton Bay Hotel (the breakfast was a-mazing), The Little Drom Store, Supermamma, the Perikanan Museum and The Gardens by the Bay.

Some photos to illustrate:

Wild & Windy Weekend Picnic at Strickland House, Vaucluse

Picnic at Strickland House Picnic at Strickland House Picnic at Strickland House Picnic at Strickland House

Nathan and I celebrated our fourth year of being married with a picnic at Strickland House, Vaucluse. The sun managed to sneak out for a little while, but I quite liked the blusteriness of the day. There was very little company and we felt like we had the whole of the foreshore to ourselves.

We had a custom made hamper from The Sydney Picnic Company and it was more than delicious... olives, cheese, lovely salad and brownies ta boot! Lovely touches of craftiness swathed the basket and inside were hidden brown boxes tied with string, polka dote napkins, cutlery tied with flowers... the perfect combination of aesthetic yumminess, which I think reflected quite well our two loves... food and design.

Flower Bombs by Yumi & Taka!

It's been a little while since I last visited the Feeling Fuzzy? blog, but this new video by the Dear Plastic team made me feel I just had to share this with anyone who might still pop by occasionally!

Dear Plastic is Yumi & Taka, two of my very creative friends who run workshops and encourage people to think about how making can be done in a sustainably friendly way!

Yesterday they put up a new video about their recent Flower Bombs which you may have seen if you'd gone along to the recent Sydney Finders Keepers Markets or the Kaleidoscope Art Markets that are on right now...

Paper Flowers Around the World...

One of my favourite illustrators, Anna Emilia, has a lovely example of how to use tissue-paper flowers as gift-decorations...

Flower Garland...

Yumi and I visited the Sydney Flower Markets on Saturday morning - we were there with the early birds and picked up amazing flowers for our friend Kirsten's birthday party... the theme being Spiegeltent... Kirsten was a perfect pixie in the flower garland I crafted... Happy birthday Kirst!

Thank You Whip Up!

Wow! The flowers were mentioned on Whip Up this week and I didn't even relaise it! I'm usually checking out their crafty tips every second day, but somehow missed our little blooms.

I have to re-mention that these flowers came out of a book that Yumi borrowed from the Mosman Library. I'm not entirely sure which book but if anyone knows I'd love for them to contact me so I can give the author proper credit.

Travelling Flowers...

Gosh, it looks like the tissue paper flowers are travelling the globe!

Thanks so much to Linda for posting up her flower studio in Brighton.
