Each week during the month of February, Tonner Doll will hold a photo competition. The idea is:
Come to the Tonner Company Store (301 Wall Street, Kingston, New York, 12401) and take your best picture of your favorite doll. Post the photo on Tonner's Facebook page.
Winners will be chosen weekly, and presented a doll at the Tonner Company Store by Robert Tonner himself.

Jupiter Ascending |
In addition to the dolls released today, more dolls are coming soon, which include the brand new Marley Wentworth collection, Patsy and Patsyette, American Models, a new DC Star category, more Wizard of Oz items, Sindy, and Deja Vu.
Above, from the new collection Jupiter Ascending, is the name sake doll. She uses a new sculpt, modeled after Mila Kunis, with green eyes and mink rooted hair. She is limited to 300 and retails for $239.99. She's scheduled to arrive February 2. Two other dolls have also been announced: Jupiter Jones (LE300 $199.99), which uses the same sculpt, in stock now, and Caine, LE300 $189.99. No photo of Caine is available yet, but he will use a new Channing Tatum sculpt on the 17" Matt O'Neill body.
One additional doll has been added to the Wizard of Oz collection, LE125 retail $209.99. Evening Evil uses the Wicked Witch sculpt on the 19" Wilde Imagination Evangeline body. I really love her outfit. She is scheduled to arrive February 26.
Two Vivien Leigh dolls have been added to the Gone With The Wind collection. Above, I'll Never Be Hungry Again, is limited to 500 for $199.99. Shanty Town is limited to 500 and retails for $214.99. The release date of these two dolls is to be announced.
Last but not least, it's an adorable gift set, LE100, retail $274.99, called Fashion First. The set features two dolls, Snoopy and Belle, and they are scheduled to arrive February 2.
Perfectly Pink |
A single new Tiny Kitty doll, Perfectly Pink, is scheduled to arrive February 26, retail $149.99, LE500.
Golden Princess |
There have been more additions to the Diana Prince collection, as well. All of these dolls use the Tyler 2.0 sculpt on the 16" Fit body. A new basic doll, Diana Basic, has wigged brunette hair and green eyes, retails for $99.99 as an open edition, arriving February 26. Three new dressed dolls have also been announced. Golden Princess, shown above, retails for $179.99 and is in stock, limited to 500. Diana is a wigged platinum doll, arriving February 2, retail $189.99. Special Agent Diana, with rooted black hair, also retails for $189.99 and is arriving February 26. Two new outfits are in stock: Beauty and Strength (LE300 $94.99) and Winter Princess (LE300 $99.99). The final outfit, Stars & Stripes (LE300 $109.99), is scheduled to arrive on February 26.

Diana Prince - Undercover
By
Unknown
This Tonner Doll is called Undercover and is from the new Diana Prince collection. She's a blonde Tyler 2.0 sculpt on a 16" Fit body, and I'm really quite pleased with her. Her outfit is great, too--white slacks, sequined tank top, a belt, necklace, earrings, bag and faux fur trimmed coat.
I think it's cute that when Wonder Woman goes Undercover, she wears all white, with sparkles and fur!

Virtual Factory Sale at Tonner Doll Company!

Happy 15th Anniversary, Tyler! (Dedicated to Carolyn!)
By
Unknown
Tyler Wentworth, Robert Tonner's signature fashion doll, is one of the founding models and dolls of his company. She has a large fan base, and also a signature style, as you can see in this doll, Signature Style Tyler from 2009. She wears a white blouse (this one sateen with rhinestone buttons) and a black skirt. She has celebrated her fifteenth anniversary this year.
Classic doesn't get more classy in Soir de Fete, a Theatre de la Mode style from 2002.
Also from 2002, Reflet d'Argent is a second Theatre de la Mode fashion. I adore the ballgown and the silver beading on the dress and gloves.
Metro Styl Tyler was a convention exclusive (from the 2006 Metropolis luncheon) with gorgeous black curls and a lovely red and black outfit. She includes two skirts, I believe, for multiple styling options.
Mademoiselle a la Mode Tyler is a Paris Fashion Doll exclusive from 2008, limited to 100 dolls. She was in my collection for quite a while, and just a lovely lady. Her softly blushed cheeks always did something special for me.
Fire Opal Tyler is a wigged dressed doll released in 2011. I love her bright matte lips, and that she retains a classic style, even in her edgier fashion.
In 2013, Tyler and Sydney were released as wigged basics. I love Tyler's peachy brown shade. It sets off her bold blue eyes.
You can't mention Tyler without bringing up the controversial 2.0 sculpt. To many collectors, this will never be Tyler, but I've always loved her face. My favorite issue is Au Milieu de l'Hiver, a 2008 limited 100 edition from the Paris Fashion Doll Festival.
Along the same lines, in 2009, Celebration a Paris was released with short blonde curls. This Tyler 2.0 is simply adorable, and is also limited to 100.
Tyler also made an appearance (several, in fact) in resin. This is the first, Ultimate Basic Tyler. Mine has had a faceup by Overnight Flight, which really softens her features.

Tonner ballet dolls on sale - last day!
By
Unknown
All of the ballet dolls in Tonner Doll Company's current collection are on sale for just $89 each. That's a pretty good bargain--but a little annoying for those of us who bought these from the dealer at full price.
There are three available--and they include both ballet feet and high heel feet:
Classical - Tyler head sculpt
Spring Time - Daphne head sculpt (real life photo of my doll is shown here)
Starlight - Kit head sculpt
These dolls would make a great gift for the dancer in your family. And they sure are priced right!

Tonner fall releases continued
By
Unknown
Several other new releases were also announced as part of fall collection, including four new items as part of Tonner's Wizard of Oz line. Above, it's Blue Butterfly - Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. She is on the 19" Wilde Imagination PVC Evangeline body with strawberry curls and blue painted eyes with lashes. Her dress is blue crinkle chiffon, and it includes a petticoat, lace tights, gauntlets, glitter canvas shoes, a choker, earrings, and hair decorations. She's limited to just 250 and retails for $224.99. She's available for preorder with a stand sold separately.
Fiery Skies - Wicked Witch of the West is limited to 250, in stock, and retails for $224.99. She is also 19" with painted green eyes and applied lashes. Her dress is red shantung with black net overlay, and includes lace and faux fur trim. She also includes tights, black shoes, necklace, earrings, and hose. Her stand is sold separately.
Oz Stroll is an outfit expected to arrive on October 10. It is limited to 250, and retails for $139.99. It's sized for 19" bodies, and includes a pink and silver embroidered dress with a tulle bodice and crinkle chiffon skirt. (Lots of crinkle chiffon this release, Tonner!) It also includes a purple velvet shawl, necklace, satin shoes, and glitter tulle gauntlets.
No photo is yet available, but a 22" American Model Glinda is in production called 22" Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. She's limited to just 150 dolls for $324.99, and she will use the AM head sculpt with blue inset eyes and a non-removable saran red wig. She'll have a pink mermaid gown in pink glitter tulle (man! all the glitter!) with a detachable train (cool!), with gauntlets, bracelets, and a pink horsehair hat and shoes. I can't wait to see a photo!
No Tonner release is complete without a nod to the Gone with the Wind collectors. Sewing Circle is a 16" Vivien Leigh doll in a white blouse with lace trim and blue bows, a blue shantung skirt, and white underskirt and white attached petticoat, and matching shantung shoes. She's limited to 300 and retails for $199.99. (No ship date is yet determined.)
Several new Patsy dolls have been released--one to note in particular is The Ultimate Patsy, who is actually a resin version. She retails for $294.99--not bad for a BJD, I have to say. She includes changeable brown eyes and wig, plus a cute outfit.
Additionally, some vintage doll fans may be excited to see a new addition to Tonner's line with Sindy. She's quite adorable, though not exactly up my alley. The basic doll is certainly priced right, though--at just $69.99 (wow!). She's 11" tall and uses the original Sindy head sculpt, and has rooted eyelashes and a pink and white checkered bathing suit. She's limited to 1000. She has the original shoulder, hip and waist articulation of the original doll--but I'm sure you'd be able to rebody her to another body, if you like. (I wonder how close she is to the Tiny Kitty skin tone?) It looks like two dressed dolls and three outfits are available as well.

New fall release from Tonner Doll Company: Diana Prince collection
By
Unknown
The new fall release from Tonner Doll was revealed yesterday, and several new dolls have been added to the Diana Prince line. I'm impressed that Tonner has managed to make Wonder Woman into a fashion icon as well, plus I'm a fan of the Tyler 2.0 sculpt (though I have her original edition already).
One basic doll and three dressed dolls have been released, plus three additional outfits. These are sized for the new "fit" body--I find that my doll can wear traditional sized Tyler clothes, but her arms and bust are slightly larger, and her hips might be, too. I haven't tried pants on her yet. I saw another collector described the fit body as the Starlet body with larger biceps--but I thought the bust might be slightly larger as well.
Above, Diana Prince is a dressed doll price at $179.99, limited to 500, and is in stock. She has a black rooted updo, painted blue eye, and is wearing dress with a red bodice and black velvet skirt, with gold chain detail. She also includes gold jewelry, black shoes, and a stand.
Undercover is limited to 500 and retails for $189.99. This is a blonde version of the new Tyler sculpt (some collectors call this sculpt Tyler 2.0) with blue eyes. I love the outfit! It's an ivory sequin tank, with slacks, coat with faux fur trim, belt, pumps, bag and silver accessories. She's also in stock now.
Diana Prince Basic is the basic doll, priced at $119.99, limited to 500, and includes a stand (which probably explains her additional price increase). She has raven rooted hair, blue painted eyes, and is dressed in a red cotton tank with blue panties. (I find her outfit amazingly adorable--it reminds me of underoos from my childhood.) She has a red ribbon headband as well. This is a great doll promo in which to see the new body. She expected to ship on October 10.
Beyond the Stars is an outfit, scheduled to arrive on October 10, LE 300, retailing for $99.99. It includes black satin pants, a silver bodysuit, jacket with sequin cuffs, faux fur headband, sunglasses, bag, silver earrings and black and silver sandals.
Wonder Woman 52 outfit is limited to 500, scheduled to arrive on October 10, and retails for $99.99. It's a nice Wonder Woman costume, including a red bodice with silver trim, blue panty, silver gauntlets, an armband, a choker, headband, lasso and boots.
These dolls can be ordered from your favorite dealer--and many are in stock or will be in stock soon. I highly recommend Dreamcastle Dolls for excellent prices and service!

Modern Doll exclusive Deja Vu: Moonlit Ball from Tonner Doll
By
Unknown
Moonlit Ball, a limited edition of just 100, is now available from Tonner Doll. Her retail price is $225, and she was an exclusive to the Modern Doll convention.
She uses the Deja vu head sculpt and body, and has rooted platinum hair and painted blue eyes with applied lashes. She's in the cameo skin tone, and includes a glittering tulle mermaid gown, faux fur capelet with rhinestone brooch, rhinestone necklace and earrings, gloves, black faux leather shoes, hose and stand.
Her eyebrows remind me a little of the Ghost of Christmas Past--she looks a little concerned or worried. I think she's cute, though I could do without the glitter.

Macaw - exclusive Antoinette on sale
By
Unknown
Tonner Doll's FAO exclusive doll, Macaw, is on a terrific sale (save 40% off the original retail price!) at Toys R Us. If you love the Antoinette body and the Flights of Fancy convention from 2012 was your look, this doll belongs in your collection.
Her sale price is $134.98 (down from originally $224.99) with free 2-day shipping from Toys R Us. You can hardly pass her up!
She uses the Antoinette head and body with light brown painted eyes, and rooted red hair. She includes a red dress with red, blue, blue, green and yellow ruffled cape, and includes blue beaded earrings. She also includes yellow and blue hair decoration, and silver platform shoes. She was limited to only 100 dolls, which is a pretty low edition size!
If you want to save even more, you can go through Ebates and receive 2% cash back from your purchase. When you sign up through my link, I get a bonus, if you haven't used Ebates before (you do, too, when you sign people up!). I think you also get a $5 bonus just for signing up--active with your first purchase. And every little bit adds up! Currently, my lifetime cash back is at $222.18--however, that does include my rather excessive Ulta and Sephora obsession!

Tonner convention dolls for sale!
By
Unknown
You can pick up several convention dolls from Tonner's website today. I've noticed increased prices (or maybe I just haven't been paying attention), but they seem to have more accessories (jewelry, hats and more detailed outfits) and slightly smaller edition sizes.
As of this post, Cinderella is in stock and available to ship. She's part of the Re-Imagination collection. She uses the Kay face sculpt on the new 16" Chic body in the cameo skin tone, with rooted blonde hair and painted blue eyes. I think she's quite pretty. She is wearing clear pumps under her huge gown. She's limited to 150 with a retail of $215. If she weren't quite so pricey and her dress were just a bit smaller, I'd pick her up for my own collection.
Next, the Victorian Social centerpiece dolls are available. The centerpiece set of three is in stock for $495 (shipping on 5/27). Victorian Social Jon is $185, LE 100, with raven hair, brown eyes and the honey skin tone. Victoriam Social Cami is also $185, LE 200, with a blonde updo and blue eyes. Victorian Holiday (Captain Paul sculpt) is on the Matt O'Neil body with rooted mink hair. He is limited to 100.
Victorian Basic Cami is in stock for $129, and she's limited to 250. She's the Antoinette body with green eyes and rooted chestnut hair. I think she's very sweet, and I'm tempted--I think she'd be fun for redressing. (I love updos!)
American Model Milady is limited to 100 and retails for $350. She is dressed in a renaissance era gown, has green inset eyes, applied lashes, and wigged raven hair. Her gown will also fit Peak's Woods Absolute Beauty BJDs and similarly sized dolls with small waists.
The debut of Tonner's newest collection is Carmen Dell'Orefice. She is limited to 200 for $210. She's on the new Chic body, cameo skin tone with platinum hair and blue eyes. Her outfit is a grey knit dress and matching jacket with faux fur cuffs and collar, jewelry, satin shoes, silver necklace, and rhinestone earrings. I'm excited to see what else follows in this collection.
The convention doll is Lady Arabella Bertran, featuring the Deja Vu sculpt and body in cameo skin tone, strawberry hair, and blue eyes with applied lashes. She's limited to 300 and retails for $215.
Lady Action is another brand new body, the 16" Fit body, in cameo skin tone, with the Tyler 2.0 head sculpt with blue eyes and mink wigged hair. She comes with weapons: a gun with holster and a sword. She's limited to 1000 (a large edition size) and retails for $199. I think she'd be great for redressing--and check out those fabulous boots!
Limited to just 150, this Wonder Woman outfit is sized for the 16" Fit body, and retails for $99. It's based on the original DC Stars look, and include a wig, gauntlets and lasso, too. I'm thinking that this wig (and outfit on Lady Action would pretty much make a perfect Wonder Woman doll!
Correcting my earlier post--Fifteen Years, the 15-year Tyler anniversary doll, uses the original 16" BW body in the cameo skin tone. She has rooted copper brown hair with painted blue eyes, and a lace gown. Tonner's description reads, "red lace dress with glitter and rhinestone decoration at the waist," but I don't see much glitter--maybe just a little in the tulle belt. (I'm not a huge fan of glitter--it gets on everything!) At any rate, she's limited to 250 and retails for $225.
I think these dolls are quite lovely--my favorites are Carmen and Victorian Basic, but I haven't decided that I need to add any to my collection at the moment. I'm interested in hearing more about the new body styles, though!
