Christmas Photo Session

I gave the new camera a good trial yesterday and I am happy to report I love it!  It was a beautiful 70 degree day, probably one of the last for this year.  So I dolled Piper up and away we went.
She did pretty good, especially with the promise of Dairy Cream ice cream afterward.

Considering she is 2 1/2 years old and it was Mom taking the pictures I think we got some good shots.  BTW these are just a Few of them, so glad for digital.
This is a regular Piper look, when she wants something or is questioning you, this is the look you get
Well I am off to get things cleaned up around here, my parents are coming in this weekend and we are getting very excited.  Good fun, good eats and Christmas decorating.

New Camera~LOVE

I ordered a new(to me) Canon Rebel xs and I do believe I am in love.  I have had so much fun with it in just a few hours.  Just think of the photos of Piper I will be taking now, poor girl will run when the camera comes out.
Who can resist that Popsicle smile?
Sleeping babies are so sweet.

Loving me some cute Christmas cards.

Don't you just love this card? I am having a hard time deciding which design I like the best, there are so many neat ones to choose from. Shutterfly just has way too many cool designs.
As I mentioned in a post a few days ago Shutterfly is doing a promotion for bloggers, I am very excited about participating in this promotion. I have been looking at Shutterflys Christmas cards for awhile and I would love to order from them. There are so many neat styles to choose from, modern, classy and funky. Don't you just love to receive a card with a picture, I know I do. I just love seeing the way children have grown and seeing the smiling faces of friends and relatives I have not seen in a long while. Shutterfly will be helping me make my Christmas card designing easy this year and hopfully put a smile on the faces of those receiving them.
I recently received a photo thank you card for a wedding gift, the bride and groom were holding signs that read "Thank You." It was such a great idea that I am thinking of using it for Pipers birthday thank you's. Thank you cards are something else I enjoy receiving, it is nice to know that the person has received and hopfully liked your gift. Thanks Mom for making me write thank you's, I appreciate it now.
I am sure I could find some great items in there photo gifts too, who wouldn't want a mug with a picture of my little cutie on it? I know some Grandparents that sure would.
I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and don't forget to choose Shutterfly for your photo cards and gifts.

It's the memory of an old Christmas card...

Bloggers can receive this offer by doing a post about Shutterfly, follow the instructions at this Shutterfly link. Thanks to Chari for posting the promotion. Shutterfly has a great selection of cards, from very formal to funky. Enjoy!

Christmas photo shoot...

Is this the face you want Mom? Everyone will love to see
it on their Christmas card. I'm such a ham.
P.S. Look I'm standing by myself!

Do we really have to take another one? I am tired of
all this picture taking. Well these are just two of the
many pictures we took, trying to get the perfect one for
our Christmas card. We did manage to get a few good
ones. If you are lucky you will be receiving one in your
mail box this year.

Cheers for the Red, White & Blue...

Would you look at the rolls on Miss America. I believe she needs "Diet" formula. I had a great time taking Piper's pictures today, she is getting to be a very fun subject.
Making Mommies porch look extra good. Mommy is working on making it look nice.

Yummy fingers, care for a bite?

Oh, the lazy dayz of summer, aren't they the greatest.
I did not put her hand like this, it was totally her own pose.

Just hanging out waiting on Mommy to get just the right angle.

Miss Cutie Pie!

Wagons Ho!
Well I hope you have enjoyed this little photo session of Miss Piper. I am sure you can find a new background for your computer Modge & Grumpy, there are plenty to choose from this time.

Christmas Photo Shoot...

Shawna wanted me to take the kids Christmas pictures. And so here are a few of good ones, it is a job getting both kids to look at you at the same time and Smile. I am not claiming to be any great photographer, if anyone has advice on how to make these photos or the next ones I take better I will gladly listen to your advice.

Mr. Crooked Grin.
Santa Baby!

The little Hawkeye!

My sweetpeas.
On a different note Shari asked what I used to make the letters on my canvas to I will answer her question. I used Provo Craft Adhesive Backed Vinyl, which I found at Wal-Mart but I know Hobby Lobby has it. The vinyl comes in many colors and the price is pretty reasonable. I then used my Cricut machine to cut out the letters. If any of you do a lot of crafting or scrapbooking a Cricut is a very good investment, it save a ton of time cutting out shapes and letters. Hope this answers you question, if anyone else has questions about my projects feel free to ask.

Trying out the new camera

Yesterday I went to the field and rode with Eric in the grain truck for a couple of hours. It was nice to be with him for awhile, he has not been coming home until around four in the morning and leaving again by eight. So needless to say our time together has been nearly nothing.
We had fun trying out our new camera, it takes great pictures and videos.
Working hard or just holding up the shovel?
Unloading the beans.

Just a little clip of what you would see in the field if you were to come and visit us. Merlin(Eric's Dad) is driving the combine and Grandad Miller is driving the tractor. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. I am going to really enjoy spending the entire day with my husband.

It's here...

My new camera arrived yesterday, I am so excited to learn what everything does. I started reading the manual yesterday but did not get to far, Keegan kept wanting to grab it. Well I am off to pack Eric's lunch, the weather is supposed to be nice this week, we are praying they can get a lot of harvest done. It makes for some really lonely nights because Eric doesn't come to bed until after 2 or 3 in the morning but it is worth it since we are over a month behind getting the harvest in. I know it would be appreciated if everyone would pray that the rain would stay away. Well I got to pack him a lunch and work on some more Christmas presents. I have nine gifts out of twenty six done so far.

I ordered it...

Thanks for every ones advice on a camera. After much reading and comparing we finally made the decision to buy a Canon ELPH. I ordered it yesterday, Matt said the company ships very fast so am hoping to have it before the weekend is over. I've got to get to reading the manual and learning how to operate the new hi-tech equipment before the first week of November. I am taking a little trip that week, I will give you more details as the time gets closer. Well I am off to work on more Christmas gifts. P.S. Thank you for my Mom's birthday greetings, I know she enjoyed reading each one.

Camera Advice Please

Good Thursday morning to all my fellow bloggers. I hope you are having a great week, I am having fun making Christmas presents. I have either bought or made four of my presents already. Talking about presents brings me to the topic of this post. Eric and I are going to buy a new camera as our present to each other, we would like to buy it in the next month or so before we take a little anniversary trip. But our problem is we know very little about buying a camera so that is where all you blogging buddies who take great photos come into action. We need some advice on a good camera, we want a smaller one, something that will fit easily in to a purse or diaper bag and also one that takes good quality photos. If anyone has any suggestions we would love to hear them.
And for all your great advice and for just reading my blog I am going to be having a give-away in the next couple of days. I am coming up on my 200th post and have been wanting to do something like this for awhile so now is my opportunity. Check back and see what you could win!

Parade watching with Payton

Are they going to throw Candy? That is the question Payton kept asking me this morning. I went to a small town close by for their Fall Festival and Craft show, and to go to the parade with Payton. I ended up taking her down to watch it by myself because her Mom was helping run a garage sale. We had a great time seeing all the people and floats and most of all getting Candy.
I have had some fun playing around with these photos, I have been using Picnik to edit them. Does anybody know of a better photo editor, I am always willing to try new ones.
Old Glory!
Waiting for the Candy.
Getting stickers from the clown.
The source of the "banging" noise. You could hear them before you could see them
and she wanted to know what the noise was.
