Sketch Saturday GDT week 4

OMGOSH I am still having a blast with the ladies over at the  Sketch Saturday  Challenge blog.
Yes, today I bring you another fantastic sketch!
K, got it!?

Now here's my take using a dig from Mo's Digital Pencil Too called Tom & Tilly.
I made this card specifically for my next door neighbors who celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary. Sixty One Years!
Wow!
That's an accomplishment indeed!
The DP are from a SU 6X6 paper pack I got EONS ago. i put some jute in the center & added an abundance of kraft swirls and a tag. The sentiment is from Kim's JUST WORDZ Everyday Sentiment set.
I added some liquid pearls to the corners. The jute ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbons.

Hope to see you at the Sketch Saturday Challenge this week.

Challenges for my card:
Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge- bling it on (liquid pearls is that enough?)
CardMadFairy's Digi DAys- use a sentiment
Stampin for the Wknd- anything goes
365 cards- color scheme
(ok the yellow is stretching it)

Let's Ink It Up & a new blogger!

*******************************************

Let me start with the new blogger. Her name is Rina and she loves her Maggies!
She is new to blogging and needs some followers so she can have her 100 followers candy draw!
Hop on over to SCRAPBOOK FASHIONISTA to give her some love!

UPDATE: ( I was in a hurry to post this, obviously with all my spelling mistakes above, that has since been fixed) lol Here's a sneak of her soon to be candy.

****************************************************

For the month of March we have a challenge you are going to love. Maybe it was difficult for some of us, THUS the point being a "Challenge", as I don't use this embellishment nearly enough!!
Our challenge is to :

SHOW US YOUR FLOWERS

REMEMBER: You must use rubber stamps here at Let's Ink It Up!
NO DIGI'S PLEASE!

Our sponsor for this month is the lovely lady who runs this fantastic challenge blog......
Suzanne......
who is offering up a prize of her own, including some of her homemade flowers!

I  have used a stamp that I won in a candy draw from Bettina (ps- she has more candy on now too). There were a whole bunch of Sweet Pea stamps in there & I knew I had to use this particular stamp due to the fact that the flowers are so beautiful! I am sorry I don't know the name of the stamp.
I decoupaged the flowers.
This is when the different thicknesses of pop up dots came in real handy.
I colored them 3 times and layered them up, some of them I added a 3rd layer.
You can see this better in the pictures below.

TOP TIP!!!
When decoupaging flowers for a 3D effect I came to realize there is an advantage to having different thicknesses of pop up dots. I have small squares that are real thick, bigger squares that are less thick and wee circles that are the thinest of them all, and I used them all on my flowers! You can really see this in the pic below!

The doily behind my image is cloth and I sponged it with SU ink to make it matchy matchy to the theme.
And this large white flower I think came from Micheals!
The papers on my card are all a mix match of paper themes!
Ribbon leaves are from Really Reasonable Ribbons and the sentiment in the top right corner is from Some Odd Girl.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
And I hope to see you at the Let's Ink It Up challenge this month!

Challenges for my card
Top Tip Tuesday- Stitches Real or Faux
Simon Says Stamp- anything goes
Do U Stack Up- things with wings
Cute Card Thursday- signs of spring

Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge #53

HALLO my PINK Fans!!
So glad you have stopped by today! This post is sooooooooooooo late! I'm sooooooooo sorry for that but alot of my blogging has been taking a backseat lately! In fact, it has gotten to the point where hubby had to point out the fact that I practically live on the computer, thus the decision to step down from the Tickled Pink Dream Team! Uh...how this breaks my heart into a bazillion pieces, cuz Kellie is 'da bomb' & I love her to pieces, as well as loving all the gorgeous images & stamps she creates! Not to mention the AMAZING PINK LADIES who inspire me daily! And will continue to inspire me as I watch their blogs  on my dashboard! Perhaps I'll actually be able to say a happy hello now! LOL

On that note: the challenge at the Tickled Pink Stamps Challenge blog this week is

BRIGHT & COLORFUL

((and it is currently underway!! ))

Remember you must use an image/stamp from the Tickled Pink Stamp Ranges which are available at the Tickled Pink Stamps Store. The digi I used today is Lil Greek Gods Lolita Aphrodite Willow! I wasn't sure what to do with her, then I remembered some of these  "nouveau greek chic" papers that I thought would suit her just fine!
I placed a chipboard birdcage and wings on my card, after painting them with distress paint and sponging them to death! LOL My sentiment is from JUSTWORDZ and ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbons. Tim Holtz filmstrip and wee golden butterfly I got from Micheals. I added a bit of stickles to her cape & liquid pearls to the wings & cage!
I am suuuuuuuper please with how this came together!

Thanks for stopping by today!!

This is actually my:
 a) first time inking her up
b) first time coloring a Pinkette.
Oh how I love these lil gals!! This one especially reminds me of my daughter. She's 10, she loves fishing with her dad, although it does not happen nearly enough.

The papers were in a stash I won from Eulanda, as are the wee clouds on the front & inside of my card. The sentiment on the front is a chipboard piece and on the inside is stickers from the same wonderful candy from Eulanda. My fishy sticker attached to her fishing pole & bait bag on the ribbon are from my scrapbooking stash. Ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbons.

FAVOR #2-

My BFF, The Prairie Fairy, & her family are going thru a trying time right now.
She has come to some revelations as of late, as we all seem to do when our limits are tested.
Roberta, the fairy, is truly a remarkable woman, who would do anything for anyone, sometimes putting herself and her needs last. She is an amazing woman, neighbor & most importantly friend. When I need a cup of milk or a couple of eggs, she's running over to lend me some of hers & when I need a shoulder to cry on.....well, she's running over with that too!
You can read her post in FULL by clicking here (There is also a DOWNLOAD button on her blog for the image you see below), but here is the most important part.

--**""Some things we should keep in mind while enjoying the holiday season.

Forgive those who have hurt you, they need your love more than you probably realize.
Close your computers, turn off your phones, curl up on the couch with your loved ones and share stories of your adventures and dream together of adventures yet come. Be still and listen, to those blessed souls you were so lucky to have been graced with. Savor every moment so you have more memories to share later.
While in a holiday line up at a store this week, talk to those near you and send them a dazzling smile, no matter how late or how long you have been standing there. If you don't know what to say, just smile as big as you can. At the very least you will get to laugh at their possibly panicked reaction as to why you would be smiling at them! If you are done, go to a personal care home and spend some time with a lonely senior or two or go hand out a meal to a homeless person. Give them a dazzling smile too.

I have created a warm and cozy little winter cottage.

This is a free download that I am offering.
At this moment, someone dear to me is fighting an epic battle. A brave warrior, ready to conquer the odds. Odds that are continuously improved by the Canadian Cancer Care society.

In exchange for this free file, I would love it if you could do two things for me. If you can only do one or the other that is fine too.

1. If you could make a donation for the image above that would be great. 100% of the donated money will go to the Canadian Cancer Care society. DONATION BUTTON IN THE SIDEBAR

2. For those of you who believe in the power of prayer and sending out positive energy into the universe, say a prayer and send out that energy for all those fighting cancer, and do it every day.

I will send the proceeds in January to the Canadian Cancer Care Society, and I have even put up a $'s raised chart in the sidebar so you can see how much we have raised. If you can give anything at all that would be wonderful.

Biggest hugs and best wishes for a wonderful holiday season.

xoxo
the fairy ""**--

Please, I urge you to find it in your hearts to help out in any way that you can!
Be sure to hold your loved ones close, not only during this holiday season, but for always!
Take Care.
