Shauna is sixteen. We can hardly believe it. She had quite the day. She was told on Friday that her two best friends were going to take her out, but the one got grounded and couldn't go. So they would have to reschedule because the double date was now ruined. So, Saturday morning we were are all having a very lazy morning because over half of us were sick, we were ALL in pajammas except Shiloh who was the only one able to stand up straight, let alone drive a bunch of girls to an activity,Ali and Becca and some friends went to the church for an Achievement Activity) and there is a knock on the door. Who was it you ask? Shauna's date! They were just trying to throw Shauna off but failed to let anyone else in the family know the date was still on! So, Shauna, bless her heart, ran upstairs, got dressed, brushed her teeth, threw her hair in a ponytail, washed off the old make-up, didn't bother with new make-up, and went on her way. Of course she looked great, but I thought how this scene might have been for any other girl. We are very lucky to have very sensible and good-humored children. I was more upset about then Shauna. (Probably the answering the door in my bathrobe and tissue hanging out my nose - haha) Anyway, she had a great time.
Then she went to the Priest/Laurel Dinner Dance. We had 3 youth there. Crazy! These are pics of them and their dates.

Shiloh's date asked her by seranading outside her bedroom window his own version of "I Feel Pretty". Shane was up on the roof with a flashlight shining down on him. Shi was opening every peppermint patty in a big jar looking for clues to who her date was (he doorbell-ditched them with a note to look inside every wrapper to unlock the mystery) when he threw some snowballs at her window. It was very cute.

Shane aksed his date by leaving a big bag of skittles with a "rainbow message" and cut-out letters of his name to arrange to figure out who was asking her. Very clever. She replyed with balloons to pop with Y E S inside them and some starbursts.

Shauna's date had someone else escort her to the driveway and ask what would you like your date to be? She replied with things like nice, sense of humor, polite, etc and then the trunk popped open and out he jumped and said, "Now that you've created me, will you go to the Priest/Laurel Dance with me?" Also very cute. All of their dates of course had to do these things not just in front of the intended party, but our entire family. The joys having a large family.
These next pictures are from a few nights before. Shauna chose lasagna for her birthday dinner and we had Grandma J and Linley and Dallas and Austin over. Rachel was in the hospital with a brand new baby girl.
