What about .po .mo when theme is upgraded?

Hello,
I have put the files .po and .mo as suggested in wp-content/themes/atahualpa and all work fine... except when I upgrade the theme: The files are removed and must be manually uploaded again.
Any solution?

afraid not since it's possible that they need to be created again - i.e. if some new feature is added that has text that needs translating a new .po/.mo would be needed. We could add all teh .po/.mo's in to a language folder but then they would have to be updated before a new release came out and who would do that?

I catch you point, but personally I would prefer having some trad missing rather than the HMI completely turned back in English. When a new version is available, is it noticed whether or not new translations have been added?

I guess Atahualpa is quite well mature now and 99% of an future update won't introduce new labels.
