HELP! Everything locked up - can't reset default settings

I tried to add some code for a button on my theme, didn't work, so removed it. Now have the following error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '<', expecting ')' in /home/suppnnet/public_html/wp-content/themes/atahualpa/functions.php on line 21

HAving looked at this file, there is no < on line 21, so can't amend that.

Can't access anything to reset default settings even to get things going again. What can I do?

grab a new copy of the theme to your computer, unzip it and use FTP to upload the fresh copy of functions.php.
That will wipe out any changes you made
