New Stitch Monday With Ridgewood Needlepoint!

Ridgewood Needlepoint has one of the very best Needlepoint blogs on the web today, showcasing new canvases, great finishing and each Monday a new Needlepoint stitch!  I am so thrilled to have one of my geometric canvas designs, "Tropical Maze" featured for the latest "New Stitch Monday" series.  

I'm also really happy they are using this design to showcase small but fun stitches.  I am always a little stumped for a small stitch that is also interesting and dynamic.  I can seldom even think of more than a handful of small stitches, so I think this series will become a great reference for those of us who want to add to our library of smaller stitches.

Another Chapter of A Needlepoint Love Story Comes to a Close!

This weekend marked the 6th chapter of A Needlepoint Love Story, an annual exhibit of needlework on display at Fort Worth's historic Thistle Hill mansion.  I have been fortunate enough to be involved for a few years now, painting each year's commemorative ornament and this year designing and teaching a class piece as well.  Here is a look at some of the fun:

This year's ornament was painted after the mansion's Breakfast Room, which doubles as the gift shop during the exhibit:

 


This is the finished class piece, a three-piece design called "Love Home Joy".  

One of my friends had her pedicure painted to match the class colors!

"So Happy" Canvas Will Be a Class at The Needlepointer!

Did you know that starting in February 2019 my "So Happy" canvas will be a 4 session class at The Needlepointer? In keeping with spring, it will be a “round robin” class taught by Jana Bendawald, Brian Shaw, Mary Ward-Smith and Linda Wimer, all who will each take a session. Texas Collage Classes Now in January AND March!

Everything's bigger in Texas, including the demand for spaces in Cynthia's Texas Collage class!  In order to meet the demand for class seats, she will be teaching this class on January 26 and an encore on March 2, 2019.  And if you can't make it on either date, call Fancy Stitches and request a kit.  Please call the shop for all the details: 817 641 4761.

A Mod Merry Week!

My friend Kathie K. and I both got our "Mod Merry" finishes back this week, hers from the framers and mine from the finishers, The Spinning Wheel shop.  Love how those red & green mats set off the colors in Kathie's, plus that frame is so pretty!  Mine was made into a box with corded trim, I'm going to use it to hold my Christmas cards. I am super happy with how it turned out! 

Another New Club!

Needle Orts in Altamonte Springs, Fl is teaching my Bejeweled Bargello series as a series of monthly classes in the shop, though they are accepting ghosts as well.  A choice of colors is available and even a choice of fabric-- canvas, Congress cloth and even linen! The first class is January 27th.  Give them a call at 877 869 0078 for more details. 

Halloween House Class at Chandail October 29th!

One of my newest designs, this Halloween Cottage is a Chandail exclusive!  Jan Wilken will be teaching it this October 29th from 10 to 4. Can't make it in?  Be sure to call the shop to see if you can be a "ghost"!
