Fabulous Fall Finishing!

So many great finishes to show off today, including a County Fair winner!  It is that time of year, Fall and Fair season too, such fun!

First up is my friend Emily's beautiful finish of my Bejeweled Bargello ornament.  Beautiful stitching by Emily, then great finishing from the Chaparral here in Houston.

Gayle at Fancy Stitches completed my Gift Elf, this little gal is the spitting image of her granddaughter Peyton!  Great job on this, I love the background!

Lisa C. entered three of her completed Stars from the Stitch a Falling Star club and won three ribbons at the Austin County Fair-- Grand, Reserve and High Point!  Congrats to you Lisa, they are great!

It's been a while since I've seen a new finish from my Candy Corn Club, this one was shared by Louise's Needlework and it is gorgeous!

Last but not least, Debbie L. stitched my Cowboy Owl and sent it to TJ's for the truly fab finishing, love the styling on that pillow!

That's it for this week, keep those great pictures coming in, I love to show off your work!!

Fly Away Home!

Some cute finishes today, and a couple of them have been in the works for a long time!  Not these Cardinals, though, these were stitched by Linda C., one of the quick stitchers in this year's  Falling Star Club, and they are already finished and at home!

Love that dimensional star shape finish!

Next up are pieces from another club series, the last two Hoot Owls stitched by my friend Judy G.  These will join the other 4 already at home and will complete the set!  Congrats to Judy, they look great!!

These 3 Pumpkins and Candy Corns from my Crazy Patch club series are the first of 9 stitched by Rebecca S., and she still has 6 at the finisher to look forward to!  I can't wait to see them either, especially if they look as good as these!

Great work everyone and thanks for sharing!!

It's Spooky Season!

Boo!  It's almost easy to forget that it's Halloween time here in South Texas, since anything that looks or feels like Fall is still several weeks away!  However, my house is all decorated for the season, and I have some great Halloween finishes to show you!

First up is my Halloween Sampler cone, brilliantly stitched by Jennifer T.  Such nice finishing by Marlene's too!

Jennifer took a lot of great photos and I am grateful-- you can finally get a look at the back and inside!

This next finish just fascinates me, I've never seen several small needlepoints combined in one piece like this.  Only one of the designs is mine, the little black "Peeky Kitty" in the top center, but the overall combination of Halloween scenes along with that amazing custom cut and hand painted mat is just too cool for words!  Photo courtesy of Needle in a Haystack, framing from New Creation.

Once again, Pat T. and West Coast have teamed up on my Candy Corn series, here are two recent finishes, I really love these!

That's a lot to look at I know!  Stay tuned for Halloween part two next week!

Finishing-- Oldies But Goodies!

Such a cute batch of finishing today! Pat T. has been keeping West Coast Finishing busy lately, check out this great finish of Santa Baby, part of my Cats in Hats holiday series:

FYI, both this one and a companion design, Witchie Poo, have stitch guides by Vicki DeAngelis!

That's not all Pat has been up to, she also has two more from my Pumpkin Patch series:

Love the way these came out!  Thanks so much to Pat for stitching these and to Sue Parsons at West Coast for sharing her photos.

More Spooky!

A few more Halloween themed finishes popped up this week after my last post, so why don't I just close out the week on theme with those? :)

Another great finish by TJ's of my Plaid Pumpkin:

Finishing by West Coast of these these three, beautifully stitched by Pat T.:

And yet another masterpiece by TJ's, my Candy Cornucopia is a fab handbag!

Spooky Stuff for Spring??

If you have any experience with Spring weather, you should know to expect anything, right?  Certainly here in Houston last week I had thought that Spring was skipping us altogether and we were just jumping straight into Summer.  This week it seems we are getting Spring after all, but looking at my blog today it seems like Autumn has arrived instead!  That's the thing about needlepoint, it's any season, anytime!  My finish photos for this week are from two of my earlier club series, Crazy Patch Boo-nanza, a whole table full of candy corns, courtesy of The Classic Stitch:

From Louise's Needlework, there is this very cute Spooky Owl from my Hoot Hoot series:

This is the first time I've ever seen these finished with little feet and I am just in love with them! So cute!

Hope you like my "seasonal" photos for today, Happy Stitching!

Would You Like Ribbons With That?

There definitely is a preference among needleworkers on whether they want bows or no bows on their finishing-- I know at least one or two absolutely no-bow folks, then there are ones like me who will add so many ribbons and embellishments that you can barely see the needlepoint!

These are some recent finishing photos I have that really illustrate the differences between the two styles.  This is my Argyle Pumpkin with a very, very cute bow topper and sweet little feet too, finishing courtesy of Little Shoppe Around the Corner:

And here is the same design finished by Fancy Stitches (don't let the name fool you, they can handle both fancy and plain finishes!)  This one looks very clean with just cording around the edges.

Stitch By Stitch handled the finishing for my Halloween Night Collage, love that embellished bow topper and the little black feet:

And here again is the same design with a clean corded edge, also courtesy of Fancy Stitches:

How do you like your finishing, plain, fancy or something in between?

Now that this former club series is available for individual sale, I don't think I've ever posted pictures of them all finished individually.  And Fall is just around the corner, so take a peek and start thinking of those cool crisp days ahead, breaking the sweaters out of storage, the trees changing to red and yellow and of course, the Halloween candy!
