Pretty in Craft

I admit, I really LOVE craft cardstock and have been using it on the majority of my projects lately!  There is just something about it..  Some understated beauty.. Especially when it's distressed with Vintage Photo ink!!  I love making monochromatic cards with it (like the one I posted yesterday) and to combine it with other colors and papers.  For today's projects used Craft cardstock along with Black!!  I think it is a very striking combination!!

Once again I can't decide which card I like more out of these two..  They are so different and both are beautiful in its' own way!!

These are some of the projects for my JUNE Workshop.  To see other projects for this Workshop please click HERE.

Kiss the Frog

This card was so MUCH FUN to make!!!  I can't even look at this little froggy without having a chuckle!!

Most of the elements on this card were created with my Silhouette SD machine - Heart Banner, KISS playing card, chain border and the Frog!!   The Frog and the playing card were done using the Print and Cut feature - LOVE it!!

To give the frog more weight, I cut out three more shapes out of plain white cardstock and glued them all together.  Since I ended up coloring the sides of the shapes in black, next time I am just going to cut these out of black cardsctock instead..

I also want to show you how this printed Frog looked like before I added some more color to him with Copics..

HUGE difference!!  I also gave him the googly eyes and crowned this little Prince with Tim Holtz Crown die cut!!

I am IN LOVE!!

I have to confess.. I have two new loves in my crafting life right now..  Tim Holtz's products and my new toy, Silhoette machine!!!  Just take a look at my card, how can you not LOVE these products!!!

I know I am not getting paid for this, but this also tells you that this is my absolute true opinion ;-)  Tim Holtz's dies and embossing folders are to die for!!  And I am not only talking about the designs, I am talking QUALITY!!!!  Did you know that with TH dies you can cut through a THICK chipboard??!!  Did you see how deep the embossing is from his embossing folders??!!  OH MY!!

And what about Silhoette??  I have no idea why Cricut is so popular and not so many people even know about Silhoette??  You won't believe how much more freedom you have with Silhouette vs. Cricut!!!  You can buy individual images instead of a whole cartridge (where you might only love a few designs), you can cut whatever size you need, you can make changes to the images, you can position the image on the cut mat where you want (thus saving on paper)!!  I can go on and on.. and I have only had this machine for a few days now and I am still learning!!

Onto my card now :-)
