Tea Party Invites

These were made for a sweet friend that asked me if I would make the invitations to a tea party she is hosting for Mother's Day for the moms of some of her students.

I went with a Mary Englebret style because the teacup ribbon I used on them is Mary Englebret from Michaels.  Having that ribbon helped a lot in the design!

I made good use of my Cricut for these invites - the sentiment and flowers were cut out by the worker bug while I stayed busy arranging the panels and ribbon on the cards.  We were quite the team!!  In no time at all these invites and matching place cards were done!  (Hey, I could be an info-mercial!!)

Back to School -- Two Challenges!

This week's Belli Challenge #73 and DDC (hosted by Joanne -- aka SleepyinSeattle) is to create a card, scrapbook page, or project with an apple or pencil to reflect a Back to School theme!! Wow, is it already gonna be Fall?! I'm so behind, I'm still excited that Summer is finally here!! LOL!! I don't have much in the way of Back to School stamping stuff since we're old empty nest-ers over here, no grands yet, so I called on my trusty Cricket to help me out. I cut a 5-1/2" Crayon Box in Pacific Point CS from the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge. By the time you assemble it, it's actually pretty teeny-tiny. Then I cut three 2-1/2" apples from the Home Accents Cartridge -- one in red, black, and yellow. I pulled apart the pieces and reassembled them to be arranged in the apple colors you see here. (Those little apple seeds were buggers!!) Lastly, I cut the little stem/leaf in green that is on the Shift button of the apple image -- fancy Cricut talk. The little notebook page is a stamp by Cofee Break Designs and the "Good Luck" is a clear stamp from Michael's $1.00 bin. Now it's your turn!! Play along with us, create a card or project using an apples and/or pencils with a Back to School Theme, and share your link using Mr Linky over on the Belli Blog. If you post to any online galleries, please use keyword CBC73 AND DDC so we can find it!! Be sure to check out the other Creative Belli girl's Blogs for other Back to School projects! See my sidebar for the team's links!!> TFL, I'm so glad you stopped by!

Mr. Do Bee Always Says Thank You!

The Doubledog Dare gals post a new Challenge every Tuesday here on SCS. I am finishing up on the two I am (was!) behind on before I leave on my trip. Up first: Romper Room Challenge by Charlene (aka Where M&Ms Gather). We were to make a Mr. Do Bee card (using a bee somewhere on your card, of course) teaching a young child one or more good manners. I used my Cricut to cut out a "B" with the Storybook cartridge, my "SU Exclusive Billboard Sizzlet strip die" (that's a heck of a label, huh?) and Big Shot for the "Mr. Do" letters in red. My little bee guy is by Rubber Stampede and he was stamped twice. He's colored with copics and accented with a gold half back pearl. The "Thank You" sentiment is from the SU Favorite Teddy Bear set, and you can probably tell by my "classy" (ughh!!) chicken scratch that I doodled the "always says" words. LOL!! Next up is this card I made for our DDC that Bev (aka Beestamper) hosted. She created this coolioolio sketch for us to follow for our challenge: Fun huh??!!! My DP is SU Patterns Pack, the CS is Not Quite Navy, Blue Bayou, and Baja Breeze. The ribbon is SU Doublestitched Soft Sky. I used a Mary Englebreit 3-D sticker from Michaels (they come 3 to a pack, super cute in the $1 section), and my Nesties for the layered panels. The border was made with SU Scallop border punch. The little stamped praying hands are from the Fishers of Men set by Our Daily Bread. TA DA!! Done!! All caught up and now I'm gonna go pack!! I'm headed to NYC with DD Leslie and DS Judy for a girls weekend in the Big Apple to celebrate my 50th!!! (DH didn't want to go with us but said he'd send me as my BD present!!) Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!
