Little tiny house bag : free crochet pattern

This little purse is an easy project.
I made the base with double cotton yarn, the purse will be strong enough and no need to made a lining inside. The purse is 6 inches wide at the bottom and 6 inches tall.

Materials:
Coton yarn suitable for a 3 mm hook. For the basic colors I use SCM Catania (1,75 oz = 137 yds) color 246 and color 226
For the roof I use SCM Catania color 113 and color 226.
Some scrap of grey, white, fuchsia and dark green cotton.
1 Button
Crochet hooks : size 3 mm, 4 mm and 4,5 mm.
Tapestry needle.






Stitches (US):
ch = chain
st = slip stitch
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
sts = stitches

Instructions:
Color 246 and color 226, take these 2 threads of yarn and crochet hook 4,5 mm.
Chain 25. Change hook 4 mm and sc in second ch from hook, * sc in each stitch, 1 ch (24 sts).
Repeat from * till 12 inches tall.

Roof:

Change color 246 into color 113 (purple).
Row 1: ch 3 , turn sc in second ch from hook, sc in next ch, work in back loop : sc in next sc till end, ch 3, turn.
This is  a fold line for the flap, next rows work in both loops.
Row 2: sc in second ch from hook, sc in next sts till end , 2 sc in last stitch. (27 sts),  ch 1 , turn.
Row 3 t/m 6: sc in sc, 2 sc in last stitch, ch 1, turn.
Row 7: sc in sc 15 times, ch 10 (loop for button), sc in same sc, sc in next sc till end , 2 sc in last stitch.


Embellishments: 
Use hook 3 and one threads of cotton yarn.

Door:
White cotton, ch 8.
Row 1 : sc in second ch from hook, sc in each ch(7 sts), ch1, turn.
Row 2 t/m 10: sc in each sc, ch1, turn.
Change into grey, crochet sc around to make a border,  in each corner : ch 2 to make the corners. Fasten of.
Grey cotton : Embroidery windows on the  door.

Window:
White cotton : ch 10,
Row 1 : dc in third ch from hook, dc in each ch. (7 sts)
Row 2 : change into grey cotton, 7 times sc, don't fasten off.
Row 3 : change into white, ch 3 , 7 times dc. fasten off.
Take grey cotton and crochet sc around to make a border, in each corner ch 2 to make the corners.
Fasten off.
Grey cotton : Embroidery stripes for the window parts.

Butterfly:
Fuchsia : I take a pattern to make the butterfly. Link :Butterfly pattern
It is Dutch written, but there are a lot of tutorials in english also.

Grass and flowers:
Flowers : Purple cotton , make 3 flowers
Ch 4, close with sl st * ch 5 , sl st in ring repeat from * 4 times more.
Into ch 5 : 6 sc repeat till you finished 5 petals.

Grass and flower tails: 
Dark green cotton : Ch 10, sl st in second ch from hook. * sl st in ch, repeat from * 5 times (this is the first flower tail). chain till you are between door and window, make a flower tail, repeat these steps till  you have some flower tails and 6 inches grass, turn and sl st in each ch. Fasten off.

Shoulder strap:
Purple cotton : Chain 130, turn, sc in each ch. Change color, turn around corner and sc in ch loops.
Fasten off.

Finishing:
Sew on the butterfly, button, door, window, green grass and flowers as seen on the picture above.
Make the flower centre (fuchsia) with a French knot.
Join front and back together with sl st.
Sew on the shoulder strap.

Feel free to make your own embellishments. Your own house.

What do you need:
Yarn,  I use SCM Catania  coton 1,75 oz = 137 yds (jade, purple, lilac, fuksia)

Stitches: (American English)

Ch      : chain

Sl st   : slip stitch

Sc       : single crochet

Hdc   : half double crochet

Dc      : double crochet

Sts      :stitch

Instructions:

Make this part 2 times; front and back

Start with  color jade.

Start each row with chain 2. It doesn't count as a stitch.
Jade. Make a magic ring or chain  4 and close with sl. st.

Row 1: chain 2, 12dc , chain 2, turn

Row 2: work in back loop , dc, in de next 10 sts , 2 dc, at the end 1 dc, (22sts) chain 2 , turn

Row 3: work in front loop, 1 dc , * 2dc in next dc, 1 dc in next dc, repeat total 10 times from *, at the end dc , 1 dc, (32 sts) ,

Change color.

Row 4  (purple). : chain 2, turn, work in back loop.

1 dc in first dc, chain 1, skip 1 sts. , * 3 dc in next dc, ch 1, skip 2 sts., repeat from * till last 2 dc, skip 1 dc, dc, in dc at the end. Chain 2, turn.

Row 5 : work in front loop. 1 dc in first dc, ch 1, skip 2 sts, 5 dc in next dc, ch 1, *skip 3 sts, 5 dc in next sts, ch1, repeat from *, till 3 sts left, skip 2 sts, 1 dc in dc at the end.

Change color, chain 2, turn.

Row 6 : (lilac) work in back loop, dc in first dc, ch 1,skip 3 sts, 7 dc in next sts, ch1, * skip 5 sts, 7 dc in next sts, ch 1, repeat from * till 4 sts left, skip 3 sts , dc in dc at the end.

Change color, ch2 , turn.

Row 7 : (fuksia) work in front loop, 1 dc in first dc, ch1, skip 4 sts, 9 dc in next sts, ch1, * skip 7 sts, 9 dc in next sts, ch 1, repeat from * till 5 sts left, skip 4 sts, dc in dc at the end of row.

Fasten off . Weave in al the ends.

Make this part 2 times.

Join front and back:

With back and front facing. Color jade . Start at the first feather ( picture 6)

Join parts together with sc.

After first feather, turn yarn at back side of front part.

Crochet only at the front part : ch 2,  sl st in chain of row lilac colored,
ch 2, sl st in chain of row purple colored, ch 2, sl st in chain of second purple row,
ch 2, sl st in row jade colored.
Now we go back to the top : ch 2, sl st in chain of purple row, ch 2, sl st in purple row, ch 2, sl st in lilac row, ch 2 and join second feather, front and back side, together (picture 7)

Repeat till all feathers are ready. Fasten off.

Attach Fuksia and make one row sc ; only the front side. (picture 10)

 

Lining:

Fold a piece of fabric with right side facing.

Cut around the base of the purse, leaving a half-inche border for top side.

Fold and sew top side (picture 11)

Sew the lining pieces together. Leave top side open.

Flap:
Make a magic ring (or 4 ch and close with sl st)
Round 1 : ch 2 , 2 dc in the ring , ch 1, *3 dc, ch 1 , repeat from * 2 times more, close with sl st.
Round 2 : ch 2, dc till corner stitch (ch of round 1). In corner *dc, next dc :work into first loop of dc you just made, next dc also in first loop of first dc of corner, end with a dc into corner stitch * that made total 4 dc into corner

dc in each dc of  round 1 till corner and repeat from * to * .
Repeat till ch2 and close with sl st.
Round 3 : Attach new color (lilac ) and same as round 2.
Round 4: Attach new color (purple ) and same as round 2.
Round 5: Attach new color (lilac ) and same as round 2.

Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Shoulder strap:
Chain 130
Turn, sc in each ch.
Change color : Turn and Picot stitch : * 3 sc, ch3 and sc into first ch, repeat from * till the end, make picot stitch also at the other side of strap.
Fasten off and weave in the ends.

 

Flower:  2x (Jade and Fuksia)Ch4 and close with sl st.

* ch 5, sl st in ring repeat from * 4 times more
Into ch5 : 6 sc . repeat till you finish 5 petals.

Finishing:

Folt flap on the back side . Start in middle of back side and fasten flap and back with sl st. (see picture below)

When you are on the front side make sc till front corner, ch 10 (button hole) join in same stitch and sc till you are on the next corner, and join flap and backside together with sl st. (see picture below).

Attach shoulder strap.

Attach button, flowers ( fuksia flower: middle of back side and jade flower on the front of the flap)

Insert lining into outer bag, sew lining with little stitches.

What do you need:

 

Yarn

Fibers and beads

1 Button

Crochet hook (I use a 3 mm for my yarn here)

pair of scissors

Tapestry needle

 

 

 

Stitches:

 

Ch  :Chain

Sl st  : slip stitch

Sc  : single crochet

Hdc  : half double crochet

Dc  : double crochet

Tr (or trc) : triple (or treble) crochet

 

Instructions:

 

Make this square 2 times; front and back

 

Finish every round  with a sl stch in the first ch

Make a magic ring

 

Rnd 1. Ch 3,  11 dc’s in the ring. This gives us a stitch count of 12, including the ch2

Rnd 2. Ch 3, Crochet 2 dc’s in each dc.  This gives us a stitch count of 24, including the ch2

 

 

Rnd 3. Attach new color: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc) and crochet a dc in the same stitch, 1 dc in next dc,*  2 dc’s in next dc, dc in next dc,rep from *  and join with a  sl stch  in the first ch.  

 

 

Rnd 4. Attach new color: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), * 1 dc into the next dc

Then in the next  dc  :  1 dc, 1 trc, 2 ch, 1 trc, 1 dc, (You have made the corner)

next ; dc,dc, hdc, sc,  sc, hdc,  dc

Repeat from  * three more times.  (56 sts).

 

 

Rnd 5. Attach new color : Ch 2, Crochet 1 sc  in every stitch.  In each corner crochet 2 sc in 2ch. (56 sts).

 

Rnd 6. Attach new color : Ch 2, Crochet 1 sc  in every stitch.  In each corner crochet 3 sc in 1 stitch.(64 sts).

 

Rnd 7. Attach new color : Ch 5,* Crochet  1 dc  in  next  stitch, 1 ch ,Skip 1 stitch, * repeat  till the corner. In each corner crochet in 1 stitch : 1 dc, 1 ch,1 dc,1 ch,1,dc,1,ch,

Repeat 3 times en finish with 1 sl st (80 sts).

 

 

Rnd 8. Attach new  color : Ch 2, Crochet 1 sc  in every stitch.  In each corner crochet 3 sc in 1 stich. (88 sts).

 

 

Rnd 9. Attach new color: Ch 3, crochet dc in every stich. In each corner 3 dc in 1 stich (96 sts).

 

 

In the front square you can made a fiber and  bow  ( row 7) (see picture above)

 

Join Front and Back

 

With back and front facing, working through both thicknesses at once, held tog with a sl st in upper left corner edging sc, ch 1; beg in same st, sc in each st around 3 sides to opposite side of top opening, working 3 sc in each corner st at bottom.   

  

 

Flap.

Finish every round  with a sl stch in the first ch.

 

Make a magic ring

Rnd 1. Ch 3,  11 dc’s in the ring. This gives us a stitch count of 12, including the ch2

Shoulder Strap

 

1. chain 130

2. turn and in every ch : 1 sc

3. change color, turn and in every ch  : 1 sc.

4. attach some beads or make a crochet flower.

 

Finishing

 

Fold flap over front of bag to find placement of button.

Attach button and flap with yarn.

 

Attach shoulder strap with yarn.
