Charm Swap 13 Charms have ARRIVED!

The much anticipated Charm Swap 13 charms have been distributed to all of the swap participants.  I was so excited to get my package this morning!  I promptly ripped it open before the mail lady had left the porch...

Adorable hula girl pouch was provided by our Charm Manager, Shae of CitiZen Objects.  The treasures that lie within are precious and amazing!

I am amazed by each and every one.  The little precious doll arm, the piggy butt, the blossom branch...They are all made with such care and detail.  I can't wait to just sit and handle each one, feeling the surface of the textures, feel their kinetic abilities, discover each artists signature.

This challenge is by far one of my favorite reasons for being in EtsyMetal.  Its a great opportunity to collect little treasures from my teammates and be part of a fundraising event.

Excited to see what Charm Swap 14 brings!  Stay tuned for next week when we get to see the progress made on charms for the 14th swap!

EtsyMetal Charm Swap 13 - Slowly but surely!

As our due date passes, many of us are still furiously creating and trying to finish our charms.  It was a busy winter and time sometimes gets away from us...myself included.  Many charms arrived and several are very close to being finished.  Here is this weeks update on progress and several finished, shipped, and arrived charms.

The piggie butts, doll arms, lucky pennies, and hand engraved feather charms have arrived safely to our Charm Manager!

The following are so close to being finished!  Can't wait to see them completed!

Based on a rune symbol, Laney of Silent Goddess has etched these beautiful little ancient symbols in brass.

Taking a poll from fellow charm swappers, Renee of Panicmama Jewelry decided on a shiny finish but a lone oxidized one still made the bunch!

Charm Swap 13 ~ Charms are starting to come in!

We are down to the finish date and charms are starting to be sent and hopefully arriving soon!  Here are a few wonderful charms that are finished and some that are very close to being finished!  Excited to see all the beautiful charms and be able to hold and touch each one.

L. Sue Szabo
"so, i was thinking, "what am i gonna do so this doesn't just seem like grunt work????". hmmmmmm, grunt work you say? that's when i had my revelation to make pig butts. at least i was gonna have some fun."

 Experimetal
"They are little forged branches with blossoms.  All of our cherry trees are in full blossom right now and they are SO incredible beautiful this year, so on my walk yesterday I was like, hunh, why don't I try and use these as inspiration for my charm, so I am!"

Quench Metalworks
Jen Lisa of Quench Metalworks finished up the wonderful little porcelain arms.

 Nina Gibson Designs
"Here's my prototype, which worked! yay! The pennies will spin. The copper strip has a little "13" on one side. The pennies are from 1932 - I had a whole role of these wheaties. So I have all the strips and other pieces ready to go - Just need to assemble them and I'll be done."

 Nodeform
"I changed my mind a bit and went with a simpler feather engraved charm. All are soldered and stamped and I am in the progress of engraving. 3 are finished and I should be able to get a few in each day."

Charm Swap 13 - Lucky 13!

Time is quickly approaching for the 13th EtsyMetal Charm Swap!  All us swappers are busily designing, pondering and developing ideas for our charms. Some are almost done!!  Here are a couple of great beginning ideas.  Can't wait to see what everyone decides to do!

Nodeform

"I did some sketches for possible charm designs with engraved textures (since I am teaching myself engraving or some sort of that) and possible color accents."
"and did a prototype with the first design using a sterling disk, 18k gold accents and a tube set Moissanite. Not sure if silver or dark oxidized color is the way to go. "

"Engraving still needs lot's of work so it does not look so rugged. Need to try different graver shapes to see which works better for this type of pattern. For my financial sake I may switch the color theme and do the disk in brass with silver accents. Haven't soldered with brass in years, gotta give it a try."

"WIP pics….."

CitiZen Objects

"I'm thinking one of two things- I just finished a commission for some conchos, which would make fab charms, or charms based on a brooch from last year's challenge:"

Iacua

"These are old pics, I actually am almost done....but here are the just starting shots."
