The Cutting Edge | Challenge #7

Hello crafty friends! Today I have a card for this week's The Cutting Edge Challenge. The inspiration card is super cute and I was really drawn to the color combo: Hibiscus Burst, Summer Sunrise, Harvest Gold, Classic Kraft, and White.

I pulled out my Make It Market: Country Fair kit, plus some twine and enamel dots for my card. The top strip of paper is Hibiscus Burst bitty dot paper from Papertrey Ink that I die cut with my small scalloped edge die.

The quilt square was so much fun to stamp. I used Hibiscus Burst, Harvest Gold, Classic Kraft, and Summer Sunrise ink to stamp the trapezoids, and a two-step flower in Hibiscus Burst and Summer Sunrise for the triangles. I love, love, love this Make It Market kit! I will definitely be using the ferris wheel next... it is such a cute image!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

The Cutting Edge | Challenge #4

Hi there! The new Cutting Edge challenge is so much fun and I really pushed myself to combine dies from a couple of different manufacturers this week. Here is the inspiration photo:

I was inspired by the kraft background and the kraft/black/white/red color combo.

The kraft cardstock I used is actually a pre-embossed note card from American Crafts. I picked up this set, chevron, and wood grain packs a few weeks ago from Peachy Cheap and they are really fun to work with.

I used four dies/die sets on my card. The flowers are the Flowers Dies from Paper Smooches, the "happy" and banner dies are from Studio Calico, and the scalloped border is from Papertrey Ink. I went back and forth, moving the banner die around trying to decide if I like it more at an angle, which I ultimately stuck with, or perfectly horizontal. The "happy" die is at an angle, so I did the same with the banner.

The button is from my stash, and the gems & pearls are from Hero Arts. The black patterned paper is from Papertrey Ink's Smokey Shadow Patterns Pack.

And I want to give a huge "Happy Birthday" shout out to my dear friend, Cindy. I wish I could be celebrating with you tonight!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful week!

The Cutting Edge | Challenge #3

I love finding new card challenges and this week I'm participating in the third challenge for The Cutting Edge

What a fun card! I really like the strip of cardstock with the hearts, and the white on white. For my card, I stamped several flowers from Altenew's Painted Flowers stamp set onto Neenah white cardstock. I die cut the vellum from Papertrey Ink's Notched Star Banner die, and the butterflies are from Hero Arts' Butterflies #3 stamp and die set. I used my favorite Hero Arts gems in the center of each butterfly, and the letter stickers are from Kelly Purkey/Simon Says Stamp. The last die that I used is the pinking edge die from Papertrey Ink that I die cut out of Limeade Ice cardstock.

Painted Flowers might be my new favorite stamp set. Altenew out did themselves with this set! The flowers are beautiful and give that lovely watercolored look without me having to actually pull out a set of watercolors. Win-win. :)

Thanks for looking!
