Violet Vintage

I hang my head in shame and confess to haiving owned this digi for AGES and only just got round to colouring her up :(  Anyways, she is coloured using my pens, and the dp is by First Edition, which has been liberally distressed using my trusty TH distressing tool.  I love my dies, and now I have got my storage sorted for them, I am using them lots more.  This corner is fab!! And I just added a couple of teeny pearls to it.   The flowers are from the MB Cherry Blossom set, I just used the biggest, and then added vintage buttons with twine through them to their cetres.  Finally a bit of lace and a few more pearls - quite vintage all in all I think!

Something different ...

I used some of my very neglected Ranger distress colours coredinations cardstock and sanded it.  I embossed and sanded a panel of of using this fab embossing folder.  I also cut out the hanging heart from the same colour, and snipped the handing bit off.  I made the rosette up using a paler pink from the same pack, sanded and then stuck the heart in its centre. I stamped the sentiment directly onto the cardstock, added some ribbon, and placed the heart panel and rosette.

The fembellishments are all from my stash, and i added so stickles to her feet and wand.

I have a card for you that i started a couple of days ago, but only got round to finishing today.  I thought I would use my flex markers to do her hair, but I am not overly happily, need to practise, or just use my copics!!!  Anyway I coloured this cute Kraftin Kimmie fairy in using my pormarkers and flex markers, and then added a stippled background, and glamour dust to her wings.  I used digi papers and added some ribbon, a bow and some punched and diecut embellishments.  Finally perls to the flower and butterfly centres and that was it.  I totally forgot to add a sentiment - doh!!!

Passion for Promarkers DT card

This week's Passion for Promarkers challenge theme is your favourite colour combination - oh I struggled with this as I love purple/blue, but also brown/blue amd purple/green!!  And I love adding hints of grey to my cards.

I coloured Primrose up in purples and added some blue details.  I have kept the layout simple, I really am loving much cleaner and less fussy cards.  I doodled the borders and added some flowers and a banner made with a Dienamics die.

Monday Playing

We got up to quite heavy snow this morning and the girls were hopeful that school would be shut - I was pleased it wasn't as it gave me a couple of hours crafting before starting work :)

I coloured Nikki in using my pens, and then cut her out. Some of my DT teamie and I did a diecut swap before Christmas, so I used the fence from that swap to create the scene. I simply die cut the tree, added the fence and then some torn cardstock in front to create the snowy scene.  I added stickles and pearl to create snow and ice, and added a snowflake swirl to the corner.  I chose this spotty dp to give the impression of snow.

Lilybelle

Our beautiful Miffy cat has been diagnosed with epilepsy, and then she went missing on Friday, so I have been distracted and unable to craft.  However, some lovely people up the road recognised and brought home Miffy this afternoon, so I have done some crafting while she has slept on the chair next to me.  I coloured the image in using my pens  - still trying to get hair to look realistic.  I am trully in lovely with spotty papers at the moment, so I used these digi ones matted onto dark purple cardstock.  I made up these rolled flowers and added pearls to their centres, and placed them over the organza ruffled ribbon.  I made the ribbon by running a long running stitch through it and then gathering it.  Finally the sentiment and some pearls.  Oh and glamour dust to the fairy wings.  This is my final shot at the  Kraftin' Kimmie GDT call.

CAS and not so CAS ...

There is going to be a wedding, and typically i have been asked by a few ogf the guests to make cards for them - I just need to make them all slightly differently.  So the brief for this one was, simple, elegant and has to have roses and butterflies (the bride LOVES roses and butterflies!).  I think I have managed the brief!!  The image is coloured in using my pens, and I added a bit of stubble to the groom, just so he looks like the groom in question!!  I love this pair, they do look elegant.  I simply embossed some of the white cardstock and scored the rest, added some organza ribbon and the slider (which I think small fingers have fiddled with as it doesn't appear to be as central as it was!!).  A few roses for the corner and the obligatory butterflies with gems at their centres ... and Bob's your uncle!!  I am going to enter this into the Kraftin' Kimmie GDT call, cos as my dad says - "you've got to be in it to win it"!!

Wednesday ... or is it Beth???

So my Baby girl is sad - we have had snow, but not enough, and she hasn't had the best of days at school, and we made her do her homework, and now her big sister is being horrible to her.  Doesn't she look so sweet, butter wouldn't melt in her mouth - its EVERYONE else's fault *insert stamped foot*!!!

So I have made her a feel better, here's a hug card as I finished work early ...
Now I have often been told that I am cruel refering to the gorgeous daughter I have just shown you as Raptor, but is a very suitable nickname (cute, small and deadly!!) and this Kraftin Kimmie stamp is my lovely, gorgeous Beth to a t - definitely the big, mischevious, happy grin!!  I coloured the image using my pens and then cut it out using my nesties.  I layered the dp up onto lime cardstock, aded some layered diecut flowers, the black webbing and gingham ribbon, and the the sentiment ... as she is very very special (in so many ways!!). I am going to enter this into the Kraftin' Kimmie GDT call, cos as my dad says - "you've got to be in it to win it"!!

I coloured him in using my pens.  I went to town a bit on the embossing, using coredinations cardstock so I could get a grungey look ti it.  I also painted some metal foil with cranberry acrylic paint, and embossed and sanded it when it was dry.  The tags are metallic ones, simply treated with some alchol inks, embossed and sanded.

Elegant Katherine

I would love to say she is my namesake - but I am not quite THAT elegant!!!  Or that slim!!  She is coloured in using my pens, and then I used a corner punch to curve diagonally opposite corners. I repeated the corners on the dp, and stitched the papers.  I added layered organza ribbon, some layered mulberry flowers with cute metal flowers for their centres and a bow.  I punched some butterflies out and added gems and a gem swirl for that elegant feel!! A couple of cards

I had a bit of a crafting session yesterday morning...

OK for those that know me well you will be in shock - it is indeed that dreaded colour PINK!!!!  But someone did ask me to make a girly pink card for them... so here it is!!  The image is coloured with my pens, and as I haven't much in the way of pink design paper, I have kept the layout quite simple.  I added some puffy clouds, that I doodled round, and a layered flower, and some pearls and ribbon with a charm attached through the knot.  Some of you may need to go for a lie down now!!

Annabel the Mermaid

I thought I would have a go at a technique for colouring in I saw in a craft magazine ages ago - using dots.  I thought this technique would be perfect for the scaly effect I wanted for the mermaid.  I coloured Annabel in using my pens, before adding the background and pearl detail using a pearl pen.  I have kept the card simple as I wanted the attention to be on the image, so I simply added some pearls.

Here's how I coloured the image ...

Iused a mixture of the fine nib and bullet nib to create different sizes.
