40 Great Nail Art Ideas- Winter

Good morning and happy Sunday!

Things have been rather crazy and stressful since Thanksgiving; I'll have a post up tomorrow with my other manis, but for today, here is yesterday's 40gnai prompt.

My mani was inspired by one done up by Narmai. The base color is Zoya Blu. Glitter gradient was done using Morgan Taylor Fame Game (China Glaze Glistening Snow dupe!!!). My snowflakes were stamped, not freehanded like hers lol, using Infinity Nails 79 and MdU white.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas- green, orange, and purple

Good evening!

I have this week's prompt- which is green, orange, and purple. The nail art prompt I got was water colour. All colors used are China Glaze, starting at the base of White on White. The water colour colors are all from the Ghouls Night Out collection- Lady and the Vamp, Ghostess With the Mostess, Drink up Witches, and Looking Bootiful. Matte Magic for the matte topcoat.

Is it fall yet??

According to the calendar, we're fast approaching fall. With school having started a month ago here, and Labor Day just this past weekend, you'd think we'd be feeling some fall like weather.

Not so! It still feels like the middle summer x.x

Good afternoon!

I find it hard to want to wear fall colors when it's still so hot, but I've been trying! I've definitely veered away from summer brights, though. I think if I wish hard enough, it will finally cool off lol.

I've got lots to show y'all this afternoon, so bear with me. Nearly all of the manis are 30DoCC prompts, with a few other sprinkled in. There'll be a lot Inlinkz, too.

First up is today's #watermarblepracticewed mani, combined with 30DoCC. The prompts I needed to do were incorporating dots and magenta. I just received yesterday the PotM from Colors by Llarowe, Talk to the Hand, so that is my base (since I seemed to sell, or just can't find, my Electra Magenta....). I water marbled over that with OPI Black Onyx and Nail Envy. The dots are KBShimmer Pt Young Thing.

Yesterday was a simple mani. The prompt for it was turquoise, so I chose Zoya Talia with an accent of Muse.

Monday's mani satisfied three different challenge prompts- PAA Mani Monday/florals, 30DoCC/blue, and 52WPNMC/water color. My water color base was made up of Zoya Blu, Yummy, and Sia. The florals were from Bundle Monster BM-716, stamped in MdU navy.

I honestly didn't like the choices for Stamping Sunday, so I didn't vote or participate. I just used a new to me textured polish that I had finally found, SpaRitual Tango. It's such a pretty orange :)

Since I had some running around to do Saturday, I did up a simple mani just to have something on my nails :) Zoya Serenity with Monet.

Friday's mani was very simple, as well. I just wasn't feeling too much nail art last week. This one was Zoya Logan with the Satin Seal top coat.

For last Thursday's mani, I used a new stamping plate. The base color is Zoya Mason. The images all came from Marianne Nails no 58, stamped in MdU silver. Marianne Nails plates stamp very nicely, I highly recommend them :) I also adore faeries, so may need to get the other plates to go with the three I have from MN.

Last Wednesday's water marble was pointed petals, which I also combined the yellow prompt for 30DoCC. I'm quite pleased with how this turned out. I used OPI Unfrost my Heart, Primarily Yellow, and Pen & Pink. It kinda reminded me of pink lemonade.

And, lastly, is last Tuesday's mani. I think it's the most fallish mani I've done so far, and I'm quite impressed with how it turned out. I wasn't quite intending a half moon mani, but that's what happened lol. Colors used were Zoya Burke and Spencer.

Happy Thursday!

Good afternoon! I hope the day finds you well :) Yay for the week being almost over! It seems like it's been a long one, or it's just me lol. Maybe I need a vacation!

Anyways. Here's my offering of manis to you, starting with today's 52WPNMC prompt, tie dye. I didn't do tie dye, per se, more a tie dye look. I created a vertical gradient using  crellies I have from the China Glaze Electric Nights collection. This was done over a white base, of course, and topped with Seche Vite. Colors used are as follows:

White on White
Glow With the Flow
Home Sweet House Music
Daisy Know my Name?
Treble Maker
DJ Blue my Mind
Plur-ple

Inlinkz to the other participants:

For yesterday's #watermarblepracticewed, the prompt was over a glitter base. I had recently repurchased OPI DS Titanium, mainly because I felt I gave it an unfair boot. I layered a coat of it over OPI Incognito in Sausalito. For the water marble, I used Nail Envy and My Dogsled is a Hybrid.

I actually really like how this looked :) Topped with Seche Vite.

Tuesday, I tried a new to me Zoya, Ginger. Okay, this not the color I envision with a name like Ginger, but Zoya has a habit of doing that. Ginger is what I would call tiger lily orange, and is similar in finish to Zoya Lianne. Ginger was surprisingly opaque in 2 coats, where Lianne takes 3. I stamped over Ginger with Mundo brown and UberChic UC 1-01. Looks kinda fallish, but I liked it.

Monday was just a stamping over of Sunday's mani, which was ILNP Float On. Omg, I just love this color, it's so gorgeous, and it was opaque in two coats! I haven't tried to stamp with it yet, but I bet it would. Stamped over it is Messy Mansion MM42 in Mundo mint.

I apologize now for the less than sharp-ness of the stamped pic XD

I had a new textured polish to try out last Friday, yay!! It was Marine for Formula X for Sephora, from the Sea Glass collection. Love the color, it's so pretty. Marine is an oddly smooth textured polish; the longer I wore it, the more I thought it should have been topcoated, but I don't topcoat textures. They usually eat topcoat. Marine was opaque in two coats, and was easy to apply.

Last Thursday was the last prompt of the month, and for a month or two, of the 30DoCC. One of the prompts was grey, which is what I picked to do. For that, I used Zoya Temperance, which I hadn't used yet. This is a pretty grey with a pinkish shimmer to it. Reminded me a bit of an OPI, but I can't think of it. Temperance did fine with just two coats.

Summer fun!

Good afternoon! Whew, it's a sweltering day here x.x One of those afternoons that you wish you could sit in a cool pool with a cool drink. Summer is definitely here!

Summer also hit my nails pretty well this last week. Several brightly colored manis with summery themes. I'm quite proud with how most of them turned out. Shall we take a look?

I think today's is my absolute best Saran Wrap mani to date. I love how easy they are, and they're not real messy. This mani was one of the prompts for the 52 Week Pick N Mix Challenge; I'll be doing the other later in the week. I started with a base of China Glaze White on White (all colors are China Glaze, actually). The first color on was UV Meant to Be, second was (what I believe is a mislabeled as Are You Jelly?) Beach Cruise-r, third and final color was Liquid Leather. SV to seal it.

Inlinkz to other bloggers:

Yesterday's mani I feel like was a fail. It was my first time doing a waterfall mani. I've seen so many pretty ones, and I wanted to try it as my submission for the 30 Days of Colour Challenges prompts (monochromatic and/or matte). I don't think it's horrible, I just didn't care for it much. The colors and matte topcoat I used are all from Zoya. Layla was the base, pretty color by the way. Binx, Eden, Nana, and Margo were used to create the waterfall look.

Inlinkz for the others:

Okay, I am ridiculously happy with Monday's mani. It was the prompts for PAA Mani Monday, white and silver only and/or roses. My base was Zoya Genesis. Now, I got that collection last month; in fact, it showed up the day I had say goodbye to my Merlyn. I was gonna try to go to work the next day, so I did up my nails with Genesis. I determined then that it needed thinner the next time. The formula reminded me very much of China Glaze Dandy Lyin' Around. It was thick, but patchy even after three coats.

Thinner went into it before applying it, and that seemed to help. I still needed three coats, though. Genesis is a gorgeous color, so I'll put up with it. Last week, I got my new UberChic plates, and I knew what image I wanted to use in this mani. I'm astonished at how well the rose stamped. It's from UC 1-02, stamped in MdU silver.

Stamping Sunday's challenge was summer nails. Nothing says summer to me more than bright colors, sunglasses, tropical flowers, and fruity drinks. I created a water marble using Zoya Shelby, Ling, Arizona, and Wednesday for my base. The stamped images were from the Bundle Monster Sunkissed collection, 507 and 508. The stamping polishes were MdU tutti, navy, and lime.

Friday was another mani for the 30DoCC. The prompts for were purple and/or Sharpie marbling. I think mine turned out pretty cool. Color Club's Diggin' the Dancing Queen served as the base, with the color Valley Girl in a Sharpie marbled over it. This was another mani I used an UberChic plate for, this time UC 1-01. Also used MdU tutti for it.

Inlinkz for these prompts:

Thursday was a rather tame day. It was just Zoya Apple on my nails. I was surprised to see that it wasn't too yellow for me. This was 3 coats.

And lastly, last Wednesday was another offering for the 52WPNMC. The prompts were pink and lilac and/or roses. My pink and lilac watercolor was a fail, to me. They were OPI's Sparrow me the Drama and Planks a Lot. The roses were FUN 14 in MdU violet.

Happy Wednesday!

Good afternoon and happy hump day! :P

I hope today finds you all doing well. My week has been rather difficult, since about Wednesday last week, actually. I lost my sweet baby Merlyn, and have been having a hard time coping with her death. My main coping mechanism is BUYING ALL THINGS!!!, and I've had to really strive to keep that in check. Needless to say, zero fucks have been given to a lot these last several days. I'm starting to feel just okay now, but still am very sad.

I do have a few manis to show, a mix of challenge and just because. Today's mani is a challenge one for the 52 WPNMC. The themes were pastels and/or lilac and teal. I elected to do both and here is what I came up. A gradient using colors from Maybelline's Bleached Neons collection. Colors are Day Glow Teal, Coral Heat, and Ultra Violet sprinkled with China Glaze Fairy Dust. All over a base of Morgan Taylor's All White Now.

Inlinkz to other blogs doing this challenge:

Yesterday's mani was for the 30 Days of Colour Challenge. The options were matte and/or stamping. Of course, I picked both. My colors were China Glaze I Sea Your Point and Under the Boardwalk. Butterfly came from Marianne Nails no84, stamped with MdU white. Matted with China Glaze Matte Magic.

And yesterday's Inlinkz:

Monday was a challenge for Advanced Nail Stamping, a stamped pond manicure. I've attempted this before, without much success. I usually end up smearing my stamping because I wasn't topcoating the stamping, just add the jelly layer, then stamping. Got some advice, tried a new topcoat, and voila! Success this time! Orly Butterflies for the jelly, Marianne Nails no84 and MdU white again. Now, even though I had some peeling later that day, I really believe it was because I had at least 4 coats of Oh So Wet! on my nails, not because of the topcoat itself.

I totally skipped out on the Stamping Sunday challenge, and kinda half assed the mani I did for Saturday. I wasn't even going to do one, but I was supposed to go to a ladies' luncheon (which itself was kind of a mistake.....). It was a 30DoCC day, and the prompts with holo and/or water marble. I had intended to do both, but that didn't happen. I ended up with ILNP's Peri Me on my nails, and that was that.

Inlinkz for that:

Friday was truly a no fucks given day, even though I did make it a Textured Friday. My Merlyn was a black kitty, so it was only fitting that I chose a black texture to wear that. OPI Emotions was what I picked.

Thursday I stayed home and bawled my eyes out, so nothing for that.

Wednesday was another 30DoCC day. The prompts were animal print and/or glitter. I actually went with both, and loved what I came up with. Base color was Morgan Taylor's One Cool Cat. The glitter was also Morgan Taylor, Escar-Go to France. The animal print was from Vivid Lacquer VL 010, stamped in Mdu Lime.

Happy Sunday!

Good morning and happy Sunday!!

How was your first full week of 2015??? Mine was rather busy, which is a good thing! I received a new rack, my third, for my ever growing Zoya collection, yay! Now to fill up again lol :P

Alrighty, so I have some new and not so new colors to show y'all today, starting with the color I wore Friday, SpaRitual's Oasis. When I picked it up on clearance at Ulta, along with two glitters from Nails, Inc., I sincerely thought it was gonna be a texture. Right on the label, under the color name, it said sandy matte. I figured cool, I don't have a texture this color! Sad to say, it wasn't a texture, and it wasn't hardly even matte, it's more of what I would call a satin, like OPI's 4 in the Morning or This Gown Needs a Crown.

I did my two coats, which was perfect for Oasis, topped it with Seche, then added a coat of Morgan Taylor's Matte's a Wrap. O.M.G. I think this what Oasis should look like!

Thursday I tried my hand at some freehand art. I suck at freehand, so this took me about two hours do. It was one the manis from Zoya's Fall Trend Guide, the colorblocking. Colors used were Ryan, Genevieve, and Dhalia.

Wednesday was a flakie day. I used my two flakies from KBShimmer, Lightning Ridge and Dark Matter, to create this look, over two coats of OPI's Amazon...AmazOff.

Last weekend, I picked up the only color I wanted from OPI's Fifty Shades of Grey collection. Let's just say, I'm as underwhelmed by this collection as I am the books, and I will leave it at that. This color, however, is gorgeous. Shine for Me is a silver glitter with blue glitter sprinkled throughout. My mani was two coats, with just a single coat of Seche.

Monday was a challenge mani for a group I'm in. It called for a Saran Wrap mani, stamped with either snowflakes or flowers. My base color was 2 coats of OPI's My Boyfriend Scales Walls, the pink is OPI's Suzi Has a Swede Tooth, the stamped color is Mundo's Fiji, and the snowflakes came from Infinity Nails 79. The matte coat is from OPI.

Happy Wednesday!

Hello, hello! Good afternoon!

It's been a busy last few days, but I finally got a day off during the week so I could edit some pics and get them posted!

First up is a challenge mani, the theme splatter nails. I've tried splatter nails before, and the result was a hot mess. I didn't really have time for what I had in mind, so I settled for a stamped splatter..... only to realize that the plate I thought I had, I don't, so I had to use something else. This is the result.

Two coats of Zoya Genevieve (which is much bluer on my nails than in the bottle), followed by a coat Seche. The "splatters" are from Pueen 62, and the colors are MdU Fiji and Fantasy. Excuse the crappy pics, until today, the weather had been awful for taking pics outside. If I had known these were gonna turn out like this, I'd have taken them inside -_-

The indie polish world has practically exploded with collections of flakies, that to which I haven't been immune. I adore flakies, and wish that I could get them all. While I wait to hit the Powerball, I had to content myself with a preorder for two from ILNP. Seeing all the soon to be released flakies definitely put me in the mood to use mine :)

Thus, Tuesday's vampy flakie mani. It started with 2 coats of Zoya Anja, then a single coat of Zoya Chloe. Topped with Seche, and you know I had to matte that, and I did with Zoya's matte topcaot. Zero regrets :)

Again, absolutely craptastic weather when I took these pics Tuesday.

I think it was early last month or late September that Zoya released their Fall 2014 trend guide. In it, they show what was hot on the runways and how to achieve these looks. I plan on creating each one at some point, and have done so twice already. Monday's mani was the second.

It was a simple tape mani. The base color was two coats of Zoya Monica, then a coat of Seche. Using Scotch tape, I taped off my nails at angle and applied Zoya Sansa, removed the tape, and topped again. Done!

And now, my fave mani this week (so far)! This week's Stamping Sunday challenge was leadlighting. Basically, you're using an image that is filled in with jelly polishes, to create a stained glass look. I've done this once before, and admire most that I've seen.

My base color was 2 coats of OPI's My Boyfriend Scales Walls and a coat of Seche. The stamped image came from Messy Mansion MM42 and was stamped with MdU black. The jelly polishes were Zoya Frida and L'Oreal Miss Pixie. The glitter accent was 2 coats of OPI's Comet in the Sky. Everything was topped with Seche.
