April....

...Postcard swap over on UKStampers..The theme is crowns...

It's out with the painty inky stuff again, a change is as good as a rest so they say.

One forlorn looking little pussy cat.....the stamp is from Suzi Blu.

How Long.....

...is it since I made an ATC or took part in a swap?..as for the ATCs it must be years ago and I can't remember the last swap, so I'm joining in with a Halloween swap on FaceBook......no I'm not on FB and don't intend to be ( I have enough time wasting things in my life)... I'm doing this through a friend.

All the images are from a Dover clip art CD....

So they're not much more than cut and stick...just about all I can manage at the moment....

Boo!

It's that time again...The Ribbon Girl colour challenge, this month it's Autumn colours...which to me means Halloweeny orange. The Ribbon Girl is offering the chance to win an orange ribbon  kit and a voucher from LOTV, all you have to do is hop on over and upload your project...simple... it can be anything you like.

I made a Kitty Kat.... sometime ago I made a White Rabbit for an Alice in Wonderland swap ( I can't find the post) at the same time I made a kitty... she laid naked on the desk for eons but now she's painted and dressed and ready to party..She's made from calico, stuffed, painted with gesso and then acrylic paint. The calico takes on a lovely leathery feel once it's had a few coats of paint.

Just love those stripy legs! and those little 'pumpkins' are just so cute... they are available from The Ribbon Girl as are all the ribbons, buckle, bell and tulle

Punctuation.....

...quilt is finished at last, no fancy quilting on this one, just a few curves on the black and cream pinwheels to break up the squares. I love this fabric... in fact I love most of the American Jane ranges. I've cut the tickets into strips for the narrow border....

Here's the back.................and a picture of Alice.

The Cat....

..sat on the mat.... well almost, why are cats so uncooperative? no matter how many bribes or bits of fresh chicken this stubborn cat just wouldn't pose for the camera!... and after all the effort I'd put in making a new blanket for her basket.

its a Swoon block.. you can see the pattern here , it's a big 24" square, I love how it's turned out and have plans for a single bed sized quilt... project 974!

A picture of said stubborn cat! and the bits of uneaten chicken.

Here Kitty Kitty

I love this stamp by The Octopode Factory from 3djean. It's one I use a lot, he's cute but not too cute... in fact he looks like he's about to take a lump out of your ankles!

If you would like to see more of this project then head over here...

Shabby....

Chic....that's the theme of a swap journal I'm taking part in. The page is small 31/2"x5". There's only a little stamping and that's on the heart. Ink up your stamp with fabric paint, I used gold. Place your stamp face up, carefully lay your fabric face down on top of the stamp and press with a hot iron. This looks lovely on velvet as it embosses as well as prints.

I hope my recipient likes cats!

A Real Quick Post...

...because today we're having Christmas Day!..dinner is in the oven and I've got pudding to sort!..
and champagne to pour!
So here's day 7.

Thursday, 8 December 2011

Two...

...in one day...day 6 was a little too colourful for me so this is my version.

I like the paint on the embossed metal.

Another day!

...number 5..made up as I went along although the basic 'wipe off the ink' technique is the same.

I've started so I'll finish but I have to say this year is tough going!...

and the virus is still going too!

Day 4

....and falling behind.. again didn't have the 'right stuff' but that's all part of the challenge.
Bad pictures too, but between bad light and a nasty virus this is as good as it's going to get!.

Can you tell the muse has gone walkabout!.. hopefully it will be back soon.

I do like the buttons though...the clear on has an old piece of text stuck on the back with Diamond Glaze

and that chunky glitter form Doodlebug is fab.

Day 3

....and another outing for Dave..didn't have any of the 'recommended' stuff for today's tag.. but such is life! Don't think Dave minds too much.

Day 2

.....alas Dave only came with a head...

so I had to give him a makeshift body....

Friday, 2 December 2011

OK So I've....

...joined the the throng....this will be my fourthTag-a-long-with-Tim but I like to add a bit of me, or should that be add a little bit of Zetti. The first year Albert ( alas I can't find Albert's pictures!)made an appearance the next year it was The Masked Queen then George in his Amazing hat. This year ...meet Dave! He'll be appearing on tags near you soon! Just got to love his pointy hat and specs! That's day one done.....

Bedazzled!

A few weeks ago I attended a quilt class by Quiltesk to make this...........no mine didn't quite work out like that!

I love the bright colours of this fabric, it's from Kaffe Fassett.

It was intended for the cat's basket

Can cats wear sunglasses?

It measures around a metre square.

And Now.......

for my version......... it's not that I don't like the girlies, I do very much but I wanted to do my own thing and what do I like?......birds of course and cats.

I couldn't figure a way of doing mouths so I've done without.... ( after everything I've said about mouthless stamps too!)
The cat was a nice simple image to create in paper...

so was the bird.. I'm not to good with the black pen outline thing either, it's a bit too uncontrolled for me. There's the neat freak again

I decided to add some bling to each piece as a kind of signature...hopefully these will make it to the Gallery
I have to say a huge thank you to Christy Tomlinson for the great class and the inspiration without which I wouldn't have done these.
