Charmed Part 2

A few more charms to add to the necklace...the clock face is shrink plastic, the 13 is just 4 layers of chipboard with a loop of florists wire ( I think this needs to be a little smaller). A dice with a loop added. and a small glass jar with an image.

The almost finished article.

I think the spoon is my favourite...it has a metal letter stuck in place with Matt Accents.

There's a mini light bulb with a soldered loop (from my sewing machine) below is a bobbin too

wooden numbers from a suduko game, an old typewriter key and bits of recycled jewellery

Well I Never..

...Thought I'd find anything remotely useful to to with old CDs....but a swap on UKStampers got me thinking and this is what I came up with...

Cut 2 pieces of fabric slighly larger than the CD. Cut 2 pieces of batting using the CD as a template.Make a length of bias binding long enough to go around the CD.

Use spray adhesive (Gunold KK100... fabulous stuff!) to stick one piece of batting to one piece of fabric and quilt on the machine.

Sick this to the CD...stick the other piece of batting to the other side of the CD and then stick the other piece of fabric to the batting...one sandwich with the CD in the middle.

Using a zipper foot on the machine stich around the CD.. trim to .5cm

Tack the bias binding in place and using backstitch sew aound the CD.....I know hand stitching is a pain but the zipper foot doesn't stitch close enough to the CD. Fold the bias in half and hand stitch on the reverse
.....one 'altered' CD! and one cute coaster.

All Washed Up!

If there's one thing I really like to do then it's beachcombing, I can't resist picking up all kinds of everything..... these are a few bits of driftwood from a previous foray, a long piece for the body and a lovely round bit for her head.

It's been a while since I've done The Three Muses challenge but this week it's Things with Wings........ and my little angel has very big wings!

They're cut with a Sizzix die... I really should be on commission from Sizzix considering how much I use their stuff!

Friendship?

Most years, weather and time permitting my best friend of many years and I walk along the beach ( about 4 miles ) from here..........( where they filmed Attonement) To here.................. Along the way we play the 'Fetish' game. First find a piece of twine, any will do but there's always a bit of a competition to find the best colour or the longest piece. Then gather bits to add to your twine....... the only condition is that it must have a hole in it so it can hang from your string!....OK I cheated with the fish but he was too good not to pick up!...obviously the stranger the find the better!.......I can't tell you how much fun and hilarity this annual trek causes.

Here's my 'found' objects
And here's what I did with them..... they hang in my garden as a constant reminder of a great day!
Looking forward to the next outing This is a tribute to a long friendship, not a usual challenge piece for LTDO but I like it!
