DT - Wags 'n Whiskers #173

Today starts a new Wags 'n Whiskers challenge - this time with the theme:

Spring Fun

I started creating my card by digging into a box where I storage my stashed scraps and found the circle paper (leftover of this card - made in 2013) and the flower paper (from this card - also made in 2013). Then I went through a pile of pre-printed digital designer papers and took the stripey one there. Because the colors matched almost too perfectly to each others in all three papers I had to check who they were manufactured by - just to figure out that they were all from Shabby Princess.

For coloring the image, called Some Bunny Loves You, I used a combination of ProMarkers and FlexMarkers (listed below), and I then cut it with a Crafts-Too die (a new purchase). Flower paper got cut in half and the edges were 'rounded' with a Fiskars punch. For embellishments I used die-cut baubles (die: Memory Box), a flower button (new stash) with baker's twine and for final touch I doodled fake-stitching with a white Sakura gelly roll pen.

Kevään ilot

Kortin tekemisen aloitin sukeltamalla silppulaatikon syövereihin, ja sieltä nappasin pallokuosisen paperin (tämän, vuoden 2013, kortin ylijäämäpalanen) ja kukkapaperin (tästä kortista, joka myös vuodelta 2013). Sen jälkeen otin käsiini tulostettujen digikuviopapereiden nipun, josta löytyi raidallinen yksilö. Kaikkien kolmen paperin värit sopivat toisiinsa jopa liian hyvin, joten päätin tarkistaa kenen valmistajan ne olivat - yllätys olikin melkoinen, kun kaikki olivat saman valmistajan, Shabby Princessin, tuotantoa.

Kuvan, nimeltään Some Bunny Loves You, värittämiseen käytin ProMarkereiden ja FlexMarkereiden (listattuna alla) sekoitusta ja leikkasin sen Crafts-Too 'n stanssilla (uusi ostos). Kukkapaperin leikkasin keskeltä kahtia ja päädyt pyöristin Fiskarsin leikkurilla. Koristeina käytin stanssattuja kuplia (stanssi: Memory Box), kukkanappia (uusi ostos) kera puotinarun ja viimeisen silauksen kortti sai reunoja kiertävästä valetikkikuosista, jonka piirsin valkoisella Sakuran gelly roll kynällä.

It is time for a new Wags 'n Whiskers challenge with a theme

Furry Friends

On my card I used a cutie image called Toby's Tasty Treat and colored it with ProMarkers. Image is cut with a Spellbinders circle die. Blue frame is cut with a Die'sire (Crafter's Companion) die and under it I put some selfmade 3d-pieces to lift it up from background. Designer paper is digital one from Summer Driggs and the smaller pieces I grabbed from my box of stashed scraps. For the balloons I used a Punch Bunch balloon punch and they have a bit of baker's twine with them. Decorative corners, as well as rounded ones, are cut with Fiskars punches. All edges are slightly distressed with smokey grey VersaFine ink.

Karvaiset kaverit

Kortissani käytin söpöä kuvaa nimeltä Toby's Tasty Treat ja väritin sen promarkereilla. Kuvan leikkasin Spellbindersin ympyrästanssilla, alle tein sinisen kehyksen Die'siren (Crafter's Companion) stanssilla ja koko komeuden kohotin irti tausta kotikutoisilla 3d-palasilla. Kuviopaperi on Summer Driggsin digipaperi ja pienemmät sekalaiset paperit nappasin silppulaatikosta. Ilmapallot leikkasin Punch Bunchin kuvioleikkurilla ja kaverina niillä on puotinarua. Koristeelliset kulmat, kuten myös pyöristetytkin, on tehty Fiskarsin kahvaleikkureilla. Kaikki reunat on kevyesti sävytetty VersaFinen smokey grey musteella.

It is challenge time at Wags 'n Whiskers. This time with the theme:

Anything Goes

Nice and easy, right? I decided to start building my Christmas cards 2016 -pile and chose a beautiful image called Say a Prayer to use on my card. Girl is colored with ProMarkers. Sentiment is in Finnish and doesn't work well translated, but it is about a child who closes his/her eyes by a Christmas tree and smiles when thinking about past Christmases. Little trees are cut with a Fiskars punch. Designer paper is a digital one from Far Far Hill.

It is time for a new Wags 'n Whiskers challenge - with the theme:

Ribbons and/or Pearls

I decided, once again, to use only designer papers that I can find from my stashed scraps. I came up with two papers (leftovers from this and this card) and tried to follow the color scheme from them all the way. Image, called Gemma and Bella's Spring Fun, is colored with ProMarkers. Ivy corner is cut with a Marianne Design die and attached with 3d-pieces. Ribbons and pearls are from stashes.

It is challenge time at Wags 'n Whiskers. This time with the theme

Embossing (Heat or Dry)

I used dry embossing to create the patchwork background for my card. Cardstock snippets are cut into squares with a Spellbinders die and embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. Cute image is called Ansley's Surprise and I've colored it with ProMarkers. Fake-stitching around the image is drawn with a black fine liner. Die-cut letters (die: Tim Holtz typeset) form "Christmas Joy" (in Finnish) and for embellishments I added flower patterned card candies that are attached with tiny 3d-pieces.

Embossaus / Kohokuviointi

Päädyin tekemään korttiini kohokuvioidun tilkkutäkkitaustan. Neliöt on leikattu Spellbindersin stanssilla ja kohokuvioitu Cuttlebugin taskulla. Kuva on nimetään Ansley's Surprise ja väritin sen promarkereilla. Kuvan ympärille piirsin valetikkikuosin ohutkärkisellä mustalla tussilla. Kirjaimet on leikattu Tim Holtzin typeset-stanssilla ja koristeina käytin kukkakuosisia card candyja, jotka kiinnitin korttiin pikkuruisilla 3d-palasilla.

It is time for a new Wags 'n Whiskers challenge. This time with the theme

Not a Square Card

Instead of doing a folded card I cut two scalloped edged circles with a Spellbinders die out of gray cardstock and attached them together with a brad. The lower part can then be flipped underneath the front piece. Image is called Go For Goal and I have colored it with ProMarkers. I wanted the brad head to be hidden under the image so I used selfmade 3d-pieces to lift the fussy-cut image up. Football paper is digital one from Pondskipper Crafts and it is cut with a Spellbinders die (as well as the white paper that is attached on the lower part). Letters, forming "Congrats" (in Finnish) are cut with Sizzix Wingo Zingo Alphabet die and covered with clear Glossy Accents.

Ei neliökortti

Taitellun kortin sijaan leikkasin Spellbindersin stanssilla harmaasta kartongista kaksi piparireunaista ympyrää, jotka kiinnitin toisiinsa haaraniitillä. Alempi osanen tällöin kääntyy päälyosan alle piiloon. Kuva on nimeltään Go For Goal ja väritin sen promarkereilla. Halusin piilottaa haaraniitin kannan kuvan alle, joten kiinnitin kuvan taakse omatekoisia sopivankokoisia 3d-palasia, joilla sain sen koholleen irti taustasta. Jalkapallopaperi on Ponskipper Craftsin digipaperi ja ympyräksi leikattu Spellbindersin stanssilla (kuten myös alemmasta kerroksesta löytyvä valkoinen ympyräkin). Kirjaimet on leikattu Sizzixin Wingo Zingo Alphabet stanssilla ja kuorrutettu kauttaaltaan kirkkaalla Glossy Accentsilla.

As you can see from the picture below, I once again digged into my stashed scraps and grabbed three leftover pieces of paper for my card.

Jotain stanssattua

Kuten allaolevasta kuvasta näkyy, tuhosin jälleen silppulaattikoni sisältöä nappaamalla sieltä kolme ylijäämäkuviopaperin palasta korttiini.

Cutie image is called Ride 'Em Ryan and I have colored it with ProMarkers. Circle dies (straight and scalloped edged one) are both from Spellbinders. Kraft paper is a recycled used brown bag, and it is also used for two of the punched stars (punch doesn't have any brand on it). Stripey stars are covering two 'holes' on the star designer paper, and all the stars are attached with selfmade 3d-pieces. Sentiment "Congratulation" (in Finnish) is made with MS Word and printed out. Ink distressing around the papers and sentiment with FiberScraps walnut ink.

Suloinen kuva on nimeltään Ride 'Em Ryan ja väritin sen promarkereilla. Ympyrästanssit (sileä- ja piparireunainen) ovat molemmat Spellbindersin. Kraftpaperi on kierrätetty käytetystä kirjekuoresta, ja sitä on käytetty myös kahteen kuvioleikkuritähteen (kuvioleikkurissa ei valmistajamerkintää). Raidalliset tähdet piilottavat allensa tähtikuosisessa paperissa olleet 'kolot', ja kaikki tähdet on kiinnitetty korttiin kotikutoisilla 3d-palasilla. Teksti tehty MS Wordilla ja tulostettu. Kuviopapereiden ja tekstin reunat söhritty FiberScrapsin walnut musteella.

Kimallus

I wanted to challenge myself a bit more and decided to use only what I could found in my box of stashed scraps. I went with a pink and brown color scheme and grabbed three designer papers.

Halusin haastaa itseäni hieman lisää ja päätin käyttää ainoastaan kuviopapereita - tai siis palasia niistä - jotka löytäisin jemmattujen silppujen laatikosta. Värimaailmaksi tuli vaaleanpunainen-ruskea.

Kortti nro 65/2015 - MYYTY

Image is called Bubble Fun and I colored it with ProMarkers. On the bubbles I added sparkle by embossing them with holographic embossing powder (Ranger). Extra 'bubbles' are cut with a 'regular' paper punch out of a shiny textured paper. All designer papers and image edges are distressed with walnut ink (Fiber Scraps) ink. Pink-white paper strip end is cut with a Sizzix die. For finishing touch I added card candies with shiny stripes on them.

Kuva on nimeltään Bubble Fun ja väritin sen promarkereilla. Kupliin lisäsin hieman kimallusta embossaamalla ne Rangerin holographic embossauspulverilla. Ylimääräiset 'kuplat' on leikattu tavallisella mappirei'ittäjällä kiiltävästä tekstuuripintaisesta kartongista. Kuvan sekä kuviopapereiden reunat söhrin FiberScrapsin walnut ink musteella. Pinkki-valkoisen paperin päädyn leikkasin Sizzixin stanssilla. Loppusilauksena korttiin päätyi kimaltavilla raidoilla varustettuja card candyja.

It is challenge time at Wags 'n Whiskers. This time with the theme

Frame It Out

So the main idea is to add a decorative or a mat frame around the image. My frame is cut with a Marianne Design die out of a recycled muesli box cardstock. Image, called Budding Artist's, is colored with ProMarkers and I used selfmade 3d-pieces to attach it on the cardstock. Flower is cut with a Nellie Snellen die.

Paw print designer paper is a digital one from Brandi's Creations. Orange framing paper is also recycled - a 'wrapping' paper for advertisements from post office. A piece of ribbon and card candies for finishing touch.

Tarkoituksena on siis käyttää joko koristeellista tai simppeliä kehystä kuvan ympärillä. Oman kehykseni leikkasin Marianne Designen stanssilla kierrätetystä myslipakkauksen kartongista. Kuva, nimeltään Budding Artist's, on väritetty promarkereilla ja sen alle sujautin kotikutoiset 3d-palaset kiinnitystä varten. Kukkanen on leikattu Nellie Snellenin stanssilla.

Tassunjälkikuviopaperi on Brandi's Creations 'n digipaperi. Oranssi reunuspaperi on myös kierrätetty - Posti tuo nykyään mainokset tällaisen paperin 'sisällä'. Pätkä nauhaa ja muutama card candy loppusilaukseksi.

Today starts a new Wags 'n Whiskers challenge with the theme

Birthday

This was the perfect opportunity for me to use for the very first time these candy prize "Happy Birthday" dies. Happy is cut out of a recycled paint sample and Birthday out of a glitter paper. Also for the balloons I used paint samples (they are cut with a Punch Bunch punch) and the shiny ribbons is from an old recycled kid necklace. ProMarker-colored image is called Ellie and Squeak and its edges are distressed/shaded with summer sky Memento ink (color is a bit more intensive in real life than what it shows on the picture). Stripey paper is a digital one from Shabby Princess and cupcake strip from my stashed scraps. Pink rhinestones for finishing touch.

Syntymäpäivä

Nyt oli loistava tilaisuus päästä käyttämään ensimmäistä kertaa näitä "Happy Birthday" -namupalkintostansseja. Happy on stanssattu kierrätystä Tikkurilan värilastusta ja Birthday glitterpaperista. Myös ilmapallot on leikattu värilastuista (Punch Bunchin leikkurilla) ja niiden säihkyvät narut ovat peräisin vanhasta kierrätetystä lasten kaulakorusta. Promarkereilla väritetty kuva on nimeltään Ellie and Squeak ja sen reunat sävytin Mementon summer sky musteella (väri on luonnossa hieman intensiivisempi kuin mitä se kuvassa näyttää). Raidallinen kuviopaperi on Shabby Princess 'n digipaperi ja kuppikakkukuosinen suikale löytyi silppulaatikosta. Loppusilauksena vielä vaaleanpunaisia akryylijalokiviä.

We have a new challenge at Wags 'n Whiskers. This time with a theme:

More than one fold

I decided to make a gate fold card but with a little twist by using 'extended' flaps. Image, called Zoe and Gemma's Snow Fun, is colored with ProMarkers. Designer paper is a digital one from True North Scraps. Bigger snowflake is cut out of an old leftover piece of tracing paper with a Crealies die and the smaller one on it with a Papercrafts die, and in the center I added a light-blue rhinestone (size 4 mm). Ribbon with a bow and tiny flat-back pearls for finishing touch.

Meillä on uusi haaste Wags 'n Whiskers -sivustolla. Tällä kertaa teemalla:

Enemmän kuin 1 taitos

Päätin tehdä porttitaitoskortin, tosin pienellä twistillä, käyttämällä tuollaisia 'pidennettyjä' läppiä. Kuva, nimeltään Zoe and Gemma's Snow Fun, on väritetty promarkereilla. Kuviopaperi on True North Scrapsin digipaperi. Isompi lumihiutale on stanssattu vanhan kuultopaperirullan jämistä (siis kuultopaperin - ei rullan) Crealiesin stanssilla, pienempi Papercraftsin stanssilla ja keskustassa koreilee 4 mm -kokoinen vaaleansininen akryylijalokivi. Nauha kera rusetin ja muutama pikkuruinen puolihelmi loppusilauksena.

DT - Wags 'n Whiskers #155

It is challenge time at Wags 'n Whiskers. This time with a theme:

Spots

I used an image called Iris and colored it with ProMarkers. Black dots are drawn with a thin liner and both square dies (straight and scalloped one) are from Spellbinders. Gingham paper is from Shery K Designs (digi), red denim from pile of pre-printed digi papers (manufacturer unknown) and polka dot one from stashed scraps (white dots going around the edge are drawn with a Sakura gelly roll pen and lower part is cut with a Siesta Frames die).

Flower is put together of recycled materials; leaves and pedals are from an old candle ring and center piece is a button (from grandma - grabbed from an old piece of clothing - I removed the loop part from behind before attaching). Tiny 3 mm -sized flat-back pearls for finishing touch.

On aika uuden Wags 'n Whiskers -haasteena. Tällä kertaa teemalla:

Pilkkuja

Korttiini valitsin kuvan nimeltä Iris, jonka väritin promarkereilla. Mustat pisteet on itse piirretty ohutkärkisellä tussilla ja neliöstanssit (suora- ja piparireunainen) ovat Spellbindersin tuotantoa. Ruutukuosinen paperi on Shery K Designs 'n (digi), punainen farkkukuosinen  valmiiksitulostettujen digipapereiden nipusta (ei tietoa valmistajasta) ja pilkullinen silppulaatikosta (valkoiset reunustaa kiertävät pisteet on tehty Sakuran gelly roll -kynällä, ja alalaita stanssattu Siesta Frames 'n stanssilla).

Kukka on kasattu kierrätysmateriaaleista; lehdet ja terälehdet ovat kynttilämansetista ja keskellä koreilee nappi (mummolta - irroitettu jostain vanhasta vaatteesta - poistin takaa 'renkulan' ennen korttiin kiinnittämistä). Koristeiksi pieniä 3 mm -kokoisia puolihelmiä.

It is challenge time at Wags 'n Whiskers. This time with a theme

Layers

I made quite simple layering with just flower patterned designer paper (digi from Shery K Designs) and magenta cardstock. Image is called Nichola, colored with ProMarkers, highlighted with white Sakura gelly roll pen and wings are embossed with holographic embossing powder (Ranger). Square dies are from Spellbinders. Lace is from grandma and for embellishments I used dew drops.

Kerroksia

Tein helpon kerrostuksen käyttämällä kukkakuosista paperia (Shery K Designsin digi) ja magennanväristä kartonkia. Kuva on nimeltään Nichola, väritetty promarkereilla, korostettu valkoisella Sakuran gelly roll -kynällä ja siipiin lisäsin Rangerin holographic -embossauspulveria. Neliöstanssit Spellbindersin. Pitsi on mummolta ja koristuksina kastehelmiä.

DT - Wags 'n Whiskers #153

It is challenge time at Wags n' Whiskers. This time with the theme:

Banners / Buntings

Image, called Buddy's Balloon, is colored with ProMarkers, and on the balloon I added a little bit of shine with firefly Stickles. Cupcake paper is a digital one from Far Far Hill and others from my stashed scraps. Bunting parts are cut with a ruler and knife, wrapped around baker's twine and attached with self-made 3d-pieces to give some extra dimension to the card.

Bannerit / Viirit

Kuva, nimeltään Buddy's Balloon, on väritetty promarkereilla, ja ilmapalloon lisäsin hieman kimallusta firefly-sävyisellä Sticklesilla. Kuppikakkupaperi on Far Far Hillin digipaperi, muut silppulaatikon kätköistä. Viirin osaset on leikattu viivottimen ja askarteluveitsen avulla, kiedottu puotinarun ympärille ja kiinnitetty omatekoisilla 3d-palasilla antamaan hieman lisäulottuvuutta korttiin.

DT - Wags 'n Whiskers #152

I am more than happy to announce that I am a proud new member of Wags 'n Whiskers design team. Yay! The theme for my first challenge as a DT is

Flowers

I used an image called Furry Friends and colored it with ProMarkers (Baby Pink - Cool Grey 2 - Khaki - Lavender - Lemon - Oatmeal - Pastel Blue - Sandstone). Both designer papers are from my stashed scraps. Punched flowers (punch: Xcut), punched leaves (punch: Punch Bunch), flat-back pearls and die-cut ringlets (die: Memory Box) for finishing touch.

On enemmän kuin iloinen kertoessani olevani Wags 'n Whiskers design teamin uusi jäsen. Jippii! Ensimmäisen DT-haasteeni teemana on

Kukkaset

Kortissani käytin kuvaa nimeltä Furry Friends ja väritin sen promarkereilla (Baby Pink - Cool Grey 2 - Khaki - Lavender - Lemon - Oatmeal - Pastel Blue - Sandstone). Molemmat kuviopaperit ovat silppulaatikosta. Kuvioleikkurikukkaset (Xcut), kuvioleikkurilehdet (Punch Bunch), puolihelmet ja stanssattu kuplahärpäke viimeistelevät tuotoksen.
