Hot & Humid

OK, it is official, I am ready for fall. The heat and humidity are getting to me, and now we are having monsoons as well. We have gotten 6 inches of rain since Saturday AM, with more predicted every day until Friday. This is not my favorite type of weather so therefore I have been spending more time inside, not to mention more time at work which I am not happy about either. The weekend forecast does sound good, with sunshine and lower humidity, I hope the weatherman is correct. I have lots of things I would like to do outside and would rather not sweat while working :).

I have been digital scrapbooking again. This is fun.

Digital Scrapbooking

Since it is too hot to stay outside for long, I have been digital scrapbooking.

I worked outside this AM for about 2-3 hours, it was hot, hot, hot. I fertilized my roses for the last time this summer, where has the summer gone? Except for the heat and humidity it seems hard to believe it is mid August already.

Scrapbook Project & TGIF

Friday is finally here, yeah! I have a list of things I want to do outside tomorrow and I am looking forward to each and everyone of them. I have not been online much the past 3 nights because of storms, it is raining again right now, our rain total is 1.9 inches so far, we needed the rain badly, places just south of us have received from 4-6 inches of rain. I am a bit gun shy with lightning and my computer having fried a computer due to lightning several years ago. For that reason I am going to share an old project I made last summer that happens to be on this computer, I am using my laptop and all my current photos are on my desktop. I took the photo last summer, it is the same rose bush that I have shared pictures of this summer.

Old Roses

The "old roses" grow so well in my garden, this is a scrapbook page I did with a photo of a old rose from my garden. My Mother and I took a cutting from a bush in a old cemetery that is no longer maintained by Chickasaw County, the tombstones are old and mostly made from limestone, some dating from the civil war time. I can not remember exact dates as it has been several (15?) years since we took the cuttings. I used to have lots of hybrid tea roses, but they are so needy and clingy :). I do still have 3 or 4, if they make it through the winter that is, it is always a guessing game when I uncover the teas whether they made it or not. But the old time bushes bloom and spread without any help from me.
