Smith Moutain progress...
I have enough blocks made now to decide that I do want a full size quilt in these colors. Since my LQS closed last month and the other shop that is only a half hour drive away does not carry reproduction fabrics, I went on line to find some more. First I went to
5-bucks-a-yard and found more of the cute rooster fabric in both cream and black. Then I went to Primitive Gatherings and found the rest of what I needed to have in order to make a full size quilt. Hope you are having a good quilty week.

Feeling the need to finish a UFO...
I started this so long ago that I don't remember when. As I looked at the original plan, I found that it would become too big if I added all the parts. So, I am going to take part of the blocks that I made and use them to make a quilt to go with this wall hanging.
Both borders only have the cherries and birds left to be stitched down. I am going to try and get this assembled and quilted by mid October so that I can enter it in our local quilt show.

Pictures from Saturday...
These are my "Smith Mountain blocks". The class with Bonnie Hunter was a lot of fun and learning. I shared dinner on Friday night with Bonnie and about a dozen other Quilters. Then on Saturday we all got together and shared a wonderful day of quilty goodness.
We also got to share the youngest quilter Cody. He was the best baby all day and some of us got the chance to hold him. Bonnie nicknamed him our little "Charm Square".
Here is Bonnie, The smith Mountain quilt and Me.
