Fabulious Friday...

(above the drawing is the teachers and the funny stitching is mine from the end of the day)
I attended the first part of a quilting class on making feathers. Our teacher is Karen Kendo . She is a great teacher and we are learning a lot. If you click on her name you can see samples of what we are learning in class.
We are lucky to have the class at Aiken Historic Museum in the Ballroom.
Jenifer Kay from The Quilting Solution Has set up four of their machines for us to use. She is at the class to keep the machines threaded and help out where needed. Tomorrow we have another half day to learn more about placing feathers in borders and practice time. So feathers are coming to my own quilts soon.

Tuesday finish...

This was an easy little quilt to make, all the measurements and instructions worked. I was able to construct this with no problems.
I followed Kim's example and used a color for the background. to see what the original and Kim's version looked like go HERE .
I am now thinking of adding an outside border of the green like Kim did in her version.
Tomorrow I must get back to doing some quilts on Ruby. She is probably ready and waiting for some attention.
Hope you are having a fun week!
Added the four inch borders and I like the way it floats.

Design table Monday....

This is the first block of the Schnibbles Pattern "DOC" that I won over at Kim's big quilting adventure. The pattern arrived last week and I picked up two charm packs of  Moda's "Hello luscious" when I was at the quilt shop getting the backing for my feathered star quilt. Like Kim I decided to make the background  a little different. I think I will use an off white for the cornerstones.
Here is Chipper last night telling me it is time to go to bed.
I'm off to play cards today, so no quilting until late this afternoon.
