Kitty feathered star...
The first block is done! These blocks are large, they measure twenty-two inches unfinished. I have the other eight blocks ready to assemble. Looks like I will get the blocks done by the weekend.
This is the pattern that I used and I highly recommend it. Edyta Sitar's directions for putting together this feathered star is very easy to follow. I loved her method and may use it to make some smaller stars.

Wednesday progress...
Still sewing the parts to my feathered stars. I think that I now have all the parts cut out.
So, now the hardest part is getting the HST all turned the correct way. Each component of the star contains a right and a left unit. I think it will take another week to finish all these units. The final quilt top has nine stars and there are hundreds of two inch HST in it. But since I have always wanted to make one of these quilts it is worth the time it takes to make. I plan to use the quilting technique I learn on Friday Jun. 15th & Saturday Jun. 16th with Karen Kendo on how to quilt feathers to quilt this top. I wonder if I can finish this top by next Thursday? Back to sewing...
