Trip to Mary Jo's

I went on a trip to Mary Jo's Fabric store in Gastonia, NC on Friday with my friend Connie and her visiting friend from Idaho, Susan. We had a great time eating out and fabric shopping.
I found this music fabric to use for making a Margo bag for my SIL, who plays a french horn in the community band here in Aiken. Also picked up a few more zippers.
These are Diawabo prints that I am collecting to make a jacket out of this fall. They were a good price at Mary Jo's, I think that they were under $7.00per yard, yea!
Don't forget to comment on my July 28th post to enter my drawing to win a free Margo Bag Pattern. I will draw a winner on Friday August 6th and will post the winner's name on Saturday August 7th.
Good Luck!

The things I have been playing with!

I finished cutting out and fusing the interfacing to all of the Margo bags. One done and 9 more to sew........
I needed to take a break from purse making and spent the day at a friend's house. She sewed and I cut out pieces for a quick quilt to make for my youngest daughter.
Then, I was still distracted.......I have been seeing this block all over Blogland and decided to see if I got out my compass, could I draw up a pattern? I did, but was not able to accurately put it together as I did it by machine and it is only a 6 1/2" block. I wonder what size the blocks that I have been seeing are? I think that they are being stitched together by hand......I like to piece by machine, so maybe I will have to perfect my technique or make a bigger block...... just thinking, what have you been up to lately?
