I am going to QSC Fall Retreat....

This beautiful quilt belongs to Dottie and it will get finished after the retreat.
It is getting some freehand and some ruler work. I am using three thread colors, so there are going to be many tails to bury
This is the fabric that I am taking to my One Block Wonder Class. I have had this fabric for years... and now I will finally get to make it into a great quilt.
Here is all my gear for the weekend class. All I have left to pack is my suitcase and pillow. Hope you will have a wonderful weekend too!

Necessity is the Mother of invention....

I loaded this beautiful and very large quilt onto my machine on Friday. Right after it was ready to be quilted, my laser guide gave out. The wires that hook to the machine shorted out.
So, since the quilt was already on the frame, I wanted to get it quilted. I made a trip to Staples to see if I could find a laser pointer and found one for $20.00. My first try was not so good as I used tape to try to hold the little button in on the pointer so it would stay on. The tape did not hold to well. Next I found some velcro straps that were for bundling cables together. The Velcro strap held really good and I was able to finish the quilt. I will find out Tuesday what the Babylock laser guide will cost to replace.
Hope you had a good weekend.
