Back to my BOM...

Wow! I have missed quite a few BOM meetings this summer. I was able to sew up the current block. But it was number ten. That means since I have six plus the one I get Saturday, I am going to have to make seven blocks by the October meeting in order to be caught up.
The paper to the right is a new to me commission quilt that I am getting ready to start. It is a scrap quilt to be made from the client's Grandparent's clothes. I will be getting the beige background/backing fabric tomorrow after the BOM meeting.
Speaking of catching up here are some quilt pictures from the Quilt Expo I attended in Atlanta last weekend.
This was my favorite, I love all the different fabrics.

Most of the quilts were on display only and not in a competition. They were all beautifully quilted. I took a couple of quilting classes with Sue Patten. She is a wonderful teacher. (I neglected to take any pictures in class) I now know that I am not in love with her very free form style of quilting, it was just not my cup of tea.

Played with the disappearing hourglass block...

I saw this block on Sweet-p Paulette's.blog and decided to try one. It was fun , so I will try to find some more scraps to make a QOV quilt.
I also finished putting this top together. Will try to get it quilted soon.

Back to one of my projects...

Chipper snoozed while I assembled the columns.
Scotty held down the columns as I got them finished.
Here are the finished columns. I will get them put together Tuesday night.

Another quilt...

This is Norma's quilt. She is moving to Arkansas at the end of the month. So I pushed this one ahead in my schedule to get it ready early.
The panto is Chantilly lace and she chose a high loft poly batting.
I struggle with the high loft batting, but I love the texture.

Hit the ground quilting....

I got home from the Quilting Live Expo in Atlanta last night and found out that I had promised to finish Renee's quilt, so she could take it to her retreat this next week. She started it there last year and wanted to show the finished quilt this year. Lucky for me she picked an easy panto and I got it done.
This is Renee's quilt. It is made of scraps from her mother.
 She picked the panto "Flirtatious"
I just love all the fun fabrics in this quilt.
Now I can relax the rest of the evening and start quilting again tomorrow. I will also upload the pictures from my phone tonight to share tomorrow.
