You & Me against the world

You & Me against the world.  Hey there, it is Mary-Ann here, this is the perfect title in my house this week.  Ever have those times when you just have to pull together are count your blessings?  May times, they are right beside you.  I think this little sentiment will be encouraging to my husband Monday.  I am going to close it into his laptop and when he opens it, it will be a pleasant surprise!  It's better than jumping out of a cake!!!

The color pallet is soft and inviting.  It can be given today, or to your valentine.  There are endless possibilities to these nesting hearts.  I believe they will be holding glow sticks for Valentine's Day at school in a couple weeks!  The nesting hearts and sentiment are both from Wplus9 which can be purchased by clicking here.  Yes, they are perfect for Valentine's Day, but I can see them on a thinking of you card, a note to a friend, a card of encouragement or even on a scrapbook layout.

I hope this card encourages you to send a note to someone important in your life today.

The Peace and Joy of Christmas

Hi everyone! It Kim Teasdale with today's post and 'tis the season to start making up some Christmas cards... or so the Christmas carols that are already playing in some stores tell me anyway ;) I thought that I would start by coating myself in a lot of glitter and hope that some actually landed on my card to for a little of the Christmas spirit ;)

For the base of this card, I used some of my Authentique Peaceful paper because it has the beautiful snowflakes to start the design off with. I wanted to have a few very sparkly snowflakes so I stamped my Nutcracker set from Graphic 45 (just the snowflakes) in my glue pad and then onto the paper. I quickly added some Glitter Ritz Warm White translucent glitter for some fantastic sparkle. It was kind of hard to capture how sparkly these turned out but you can kind of see in the picture below.

I then distressed the edges of the paper with my Ranger Distress Antique Linen and Vintage Photo inks with my Inkssentials Foam Blender :D After that all that was left to do was to stitched around the perimeter of the card with my sewing machine and start adding some embellishments!

I added some gorgeous Prima Gems that reminded me of gusts of wind and then some vintage seam binding and sheer ribbon. I tied my die cut (MFT Snowflake Die) kraft and vellum snowflakes to the ribbon and finished it off with a black button to keep with the kraft and black matting. The cherry on top of this beautiful Christmas card was the Maya Rd Vintage Pearl Trinket Pins! I completely adore how this card turned out and I hope that you like it too as this card may require some mass producing for the upcoming holiday season ;)

A litte bit of shabby and a whole lot of embellishments!

Hi everyone! It's Kim T. and I'm up to bat with today's post :) I originally made this card to play along with an embellishment challenge hosted by TSG but thought that since it's absolutely loaded with lovely eP goodies, that it would be perfect to share here as well :D

So let me tell you what I did for this card. I started with some Maya Rd. Felt Pearl Posies and Mini Canvas Butterflies. Because these started out as a creamy colour, it allowed me to attack them with some Ranger Distress Re-inkers to dye them! All I did for the posies was to add a little Ranger Distress Milled Lavender Re-inker and Ranger Distress Tattered Rose Re-inker to about a teaspoon of water and let the posies soak up the mixture for a few minutes! I did the same with some die cut felt leaves with a little Ranger Distress Peeled Paint Re-inker and Bob's your uncle :D I just let them air dry while I assembled the rest of the card and then stuck them on with a little Tombow Multi adhesive.

For the little canvas butterfly, I actually pulled out my Ranger Distress Wild Honey Stain and smooshed some of the colour into it and then ran it under the tap for a second to dilute the colour a little. It was pretty solid and because it's already an intense colour I wanted to just soften it up a little :)

I paired my embellishments up with the My Mind's Eye Fiddlesticks paper pack and distressed it with both Ranger Distress Antique Linen and  Ranger Distress Vintage Photo to have a bit of a shabby look to go with the flowers. I love how this card turned out and I especially adore the handwritten look on Happy Birthday sentiment because it fits right in with shabby delight. I finished the card off with some additional pearl embellishments and some vintage seam binding that matched the Sahara Sand cardstock that I used for the matting :D

Thanks for coming by today!

Explore!

Hi everyone! This post is brought to you by yours truly, Kim T :) Because we are heading into fall, I wanted to hang onto summer a little bit longer because my family and I are avid campers, but we do it RV style ;) What better way to showcase one of our loves that to create this scene using the Gone Camping set by Market Street Stamps. I'm not sure if you can tell or not but there is a pretty thick coating of Glossy Accents on the trailer to give it more of a metal feel and I added a mini brad for the door knob :)

I Sponged the sky in with Ranger Distress Weathered Wood and Broken China and then attacked my grass and handmade trees with Ranger Distress Forest Moss and hit up the gravel with Ranger Distress Pumice Stone. I used two different inks on the tree trunks - Ranger Distress Vintage Photo and Rusty Hinge.

I thought that I would try something a little different and cut out the campfire from the curly cue smoke and added it to my scene, replacing the stamped "smoke" with some Mini Rhinestone Swirls "smoke" :) I then finished off the card with a little stamp tag and anchored it down with some Caribbean Twine :D

Pretty in Pink!

Hi everyone! It's my turn (Kim Teasdale) to show you my creation for today's post and boy, have I used a lot of wonderful goodies for this one :D When I first sat down to start this card I had the idea in mind to use bright colours because I adore bright, bold colours...but this card had a mind of it's own and voila...a shabby and distressed card instead ;)

I started with The Crafter's Workshop 6x6 Mini Mix and Match Hearts Template and then attacked it with some pink ink as well as some Ranger Distress Antique Linen and Vintage Photo inks onto My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Rosy paper to shabby it up a bit :) This turned out to be the starting point for my card :)

What goes better with a shabby style then, pearls, buttons, twine and seam binding? Maya Rd Canvas Butterflies and Pearl Trinket Pins of course! I did dress up my canvas butterfly with my Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabber in Shell Pink. It's such a pretty shade and I couldn't resist!

I then finished off my card with a coordinating sentiment stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa, half pearl embellishments and loads of distressed edges. This isn't normally the style of card that I create but once in a while like to step out of my box and try something new :D I hope that you like it and thanks for coming by today! Oh, before I forget, did you notice that Kim put on a sale on Market St. Stamps yesterday? No? Well then, let me tell you a little bit about it :D
