Smile

With Valentine in just a few days, I needed to create some a card for my Love!  Mary-Ann here today, breaking out some Fancy Pants paper, watercolors, die cuts, stamps, twine, pearl pen and stickles!  For the base of my card, I used watercolor paper.  I cut it to the size I wanted to fit within my Fancy Pants Glassine Bag.  Since I am not mailing this gem, I can do what I want!  I dug out my watercolors and painted to my liking.  I chose only two colors.  You can use any type of watercolor, gelato, or colored pencils that you have on hand.  I layered my papers, backed my tag with foam and cut my dies.  I just love Wplus9 Heart Stackers.  Once my papers were layered, I added Ice White pearl drops from my pearl pen and Cotton Candy Stickles.

I then chose the colors for my envelope staying with the same color combo as my card.

This is simple and quick.  I hope you did out your stash and create a thoughtful card for the loves in your life.

You & Me

Mary-Ann barely here with you today to share a layout that took me four tries!  Yup, four.  Ever have one of those days when you have something in your mind but it just will not translate to paper the way you envision it?  Sometimes the results are even better anyway (now imagine me sticking my tongue out at my layout like a 3 yr old).  I created this layout by cutting the best watercolor heart out of one of my previous 3 pages.   My pink paper that you see to the side has remnants of one of the attempts.  See the gesso on the bottom?  You can also see some on my heart.   I totally smeared that page with my sleeve.  Although the whole layout was not salvaged, I managed to save some of it.

I like dimension on my pages, you can see it all from this angle.  I actually sewed the smaller hearts right to the 12x12 page, then curled my sides up.  The strips of paper that you see are all from one sheet of the 6x6 Fancy Pants Be. Loved. paper pad.  (Which by the way are hard to keep in stock.)  They created just enough embellishment to match my flair buttons and punched hearts.

Anyone notice the twine shaped as a heart?  I love these photos of my boys.  You can feel the love.  Towards each other, not me, obviously, I am the one capturing it all with a camera.  BTW, those gray dots that look like enamel dots, I created those using Tim's Distress Paint - Brushed Pewter.  Need to get another bottle of that, I am using it like I love it:o)

Here is proof of one of the mishap pages.  Why did I use brown?? Good question.  But I did like the effect of the smear, however, when I added all my other embellies, I needed to trash the brown, for obvious reasons.  That and my non-artistic husbands asked what I ripped up from that spot.  Not cool.

The fine products I used on this and the other three layouts are listed below.  Head on over to the shop to get your hands on what you need to create your next Valentine.

Peace

Hello friends!! Hope you all here in the US had a great Thanksgiving time, time for turkey sandwiches and leftover, wink, wink!!

Today I want to show a different Christmas card, I call it "CAS Mixed Media card" I had a lot of fun making this card, super flat {think about easy mailing} and easy to mass produce, if you decide to go that way, just cut out all of paper pieces and stamp your heart out!!

Here are the details:

Hope you like it!

Thinking of You Sympathy card

Hello, everyone!  It's Broni here with you today.

Recently I needed several sympathy cards.  I really don't like making them, mostly because of the sadness associated with them, but I'm also not sure how somber or how cheerful they should be.  So I tried to come up with a design that incorporated both of those elements and then I created a few of them to keep on hand.  I supposed they could be used as "Feel better" cards as well.

Here's the finished card:

I started with a standard 8.5 x 5.5 piece of gray cardstock (half a sheet).  I already had several rectangles of white cardstock on hand, and laid one on top of the gray to see what angle I wanted for the top layer.  I lightly marked the top and left side edges with a pencil and cut along those lines.

Then I used my Tiny Circles stencil and some gray ink to create  a section of small gray dots along the left edge of the white layer.  They almost look like rain drops.

Next I took my Fresh Cut Florals die set from WPlus9 and ran it through my die cutting machine several times with some white cardstock.  I like having several cut and ready to use, and I keep the extras in a tiny plastic bag with the die set for future use.

I used several different Distress inks to stamp some of the flowers and leaves from the Fresh Cut Florals set, then played around with the layouts until I came up with one that I liked.  I also used some Evergreen Bough ink to stamp the sentiment.  (Love that color!)

So that's how I came up with my a little somber/a little cheering sympathy card.  I hope you like it!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Plotting Their Day

Good morning.  I (Mary-Ann) wanted to share a layout that I create on Veteran's day.  Not only did I take the picture that day, I even scrapped it!  Never have I ever been so efficient!  I am pretty proud of myself.  I wanted to use the repeating circles as my theme throughout this layout.  I love the  photo and wanted it to be get the attention so I decided on pastel, white washed papers from Fancy Pants - Collecting Moments line.  This line could be used in SO many ways.  There is a dark rich blue that is calling my name!

I started by punching out circles with my 3" circle punch and my Wplus9 Circle Stackers I Die.

Because the colors were a tad bold, I tones them down with spraying them with white linen Dylusions ink and white embossing powder.

I decided on my photo and circle placement, then began my watercoloring.  I shaved my favorite gelatos colors onto a paper plate and mixed them with water.  Using my layering stencil, I started making my mess.  I may not be a master but it sure was fun!  You will see on the layout that I even colored the wood veneer shapes with the same gelatos liquid.

I added my title, pieces from the matching embellishment packet, small decorative tags, resin flowers, Jillibean doilies and wood shapes, and added flair!

Thank you for taking a look at my layout.
Be sure to thank a Veteran, it is never too late.
