Embossing paste, grunge board and pan pastels! Oh my!!!

Hi there!  It's Erin here with you today with a quick little project that I created to showcase some different products that came out a whole ago, but they got buried under all the new and cool stuff!

We're bringing back the end and splashing it up with a bit of the new!

This is the entire project.

Here's how it started:

I took the Liquitex acrylic gloss fluid medium and painted a thin coat over the grunge board.  I let it dry and then want to town with Tim Holtz's new lace stencil and Wendy Vecchi's white embossing paste!  That stuff is the bomb!!!!!  LOVE IT!!!!!  There's substance in it and it doesn't fall apart on you or act like you're working with jello.

Then I added some teal and lime green pan pastels (I'm sure they have real names, but at the moment, their names escape me!); and just sponged it on with the large makeup looking sponge.

I did add paper from G45's Botanical Garden, but then I sprayed the whole thing with my 3 Blue Dylusions sprays, and it turned incomprehensible.  I tried to peel it off and it left a cool rip, so that became part of the background!

I sprayed the large lace section on the right with White Linen Dylusions spray and then patted it dry with a paper towel.  It acted almost like water because it cleared up a lot of the blues and cleaned it up!  It was a little too messy!!!

This is the finished product!  I apologize for the grossness of my pictures!  I am waiting for my computer to be fixed and returned!  So for now, I have no photo editing on my phone!!!

Find all of the goodies that I used here:
www.eclecticpaperie.com.

But, I'm a huge flower and embellishment hoarder!  So I used a couple flowers and resin pieces and a butterfly from my stash to dress it up!

I hope that you have a wonderful day!!!

Be Brave with Dina Wakely`s Mixed Media All For the Gals Stamps

Hello sweet friends, Tracy here today to share a quick, messy, painty, ink splattered journal page featuring
Dina Wakely`s Mixed Media Stamps
All for the Gals Set
I am all in a " TIZ " at the ideas that are running through my head right now . . . I am so in  loooove with them!!
Kim has them on Pre Order in the shop and they should be in any day now.
I managed to get my painty mitts on them here in the UK, woohoo.
This was me tonight being brave
as
I headed out to the shed, with not a thought in my head
except
to have fun, get messy and play!
I started with a quick splodge of Gesso to my old book page, followed by a mixture of
Dylusion Ink Sprays
a smidgen or two of
Pan Pastels
and
a splatter or circle or two
with
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Black Soot.
{ Massive apologies for no step by step pics today, I did get bold and carried away }
The tag was created on a 7 Gypsies Naked Tag . . . another loooove, lol!
A quick splodge of Gesso first
followed by
Inking up the stamp with an Archival Ink Pad
Mixing up a little Pan Pastel with Gesso for her skin tone
Spraying Dylusion inks onto my craft sheet and brushing it on loosely
before
Adding a few touches of  a script stamp
and
My doodle doodle doo`s.
Lurking around my shed, sitting gathering dust was a bottle of
Aged Artists Varnish
I have no idea how to use it
or
what it`s for
but in the
Spirit
of
Discovery
I gave it a shake
and
GULP
grabbed a cleanish rag
and
oh my giddy aunt
I quickly, nervously
rubbed it all over
the result . . .
It has a beautiful aged gloss to the page, I wish the pictures could do it justice.
My sewing machine is feeling poorly at the moment, sigh . . . but I wanted thread on my page and thread I was going to have.
I dug around my sewing box which I inherited, it`s full of the most beautiful old threads on wooden bobbins and I came across this black linen thread . . . scrummy yummy and as I chopped some up it fell into circles all on it`s own . . . bliss!
A few of the sentiments from the set was all that was needed to finish the page.
That`s all from me today my friends
till next time
Happy Crafting

Love Is Incredible . . .

Hello sweet friends, Tracy here today and it feels so good to be back and sharing a little of my art with you all!
The lovely Broni is the host for this months
and the theme is
Pssst you still have time to join in the fun!

I scratched my head and hummed and hawed . . . but I kept coming back to home, my boys, Alex and Rosie
{ she`s the mad wee terrier,lol }
So time to get the old book out and create a journal page!
A quick coat of Gesso followed by some Stenciling and Paste, Distress Paints & Stains with a touch of Pan Pastels thrown in and it was ready to add the details.
First up, preparing the playing cards, quick rub down with the sanding block followed by a splodge of Gesso.
They make great little houses with the addition of some prrretty scraps of paper.
Time to add some of my doodle doodle doo`s . . .
{ Just saying doodle doodle doo`s makes me happeee }
. . . and it started to look like this.
See the swirling puffs of smoke from the chimneys . . . Gesso dabbed on with my fingers.
 { The words I have had in my stash for a while, sorry but I don`t know who the manufacturer is. }
Apologies in advance . . . I got really carried away at this point and started to add more doodle doo`s, Paints, Stains, Stamps, more pretty scraps of paper, lace trim, flowers and Distress Rock Candy Glitter to the teeny tiny windows.
I had some lovely red embroidery thread, so out came the needle to add a wee touch of stitching for that homespun feel.
This page is dedicated to my family.
My boys are spreading there wings and starting to fly the nest, but one thing for is for sure . . .
wherever they may be part of my heart will always go with them!

Well that`s all from me today, I hope you enjoyed having a look inside my old tatty book.
Remember you still have time to get creative with playing cards!
Till next time
XOXOXO

Love Letters Whimsical Wood Art . . .

Hello sweet friends, it`s Tracy here today and I am so happy to be back here with a little more of my wood art to share with you all.
For my Christmas, Mum and Dad purchased a workshop by Junelle Jacobsen { loooooove } called
The Art of Wild Abandonment
and slowly I am starting to feel my mojo returning from a looong holiday away, lol!
My inspiration -
As Valentine draws nearer and nearer, I have been remembering the Love Letters that my husband Alex wrote for me . . . oh back in 19 canteen, lol . . . I still have each and everyone he gave me, treasures that money can`t buy.
Recognise the pretty papers . . . the deelish Graphic 45 papers leftover from my Christmas journal.
{ Psssst . . . Kim has a sale going on right now and let me tell you . . . yummy papers galore are included, check it out here }
I quickly coated the block of wood with Gesso and while it was drying snipped out my girls skirts and legs.
Using Multi Matt Medium I fixed all the parts in place . . . oh see the little teeny tiny letters . . . old book pages stuck together, add Gesso and outline with a black fine liner pen . . . c...u...t...e!
I just kept adding touches of Gesso randomly with my fingers, also adding Pan Pastels as they are and to the Gesso as well for all the smudges of colour.
Now if you know me, you know how much I love to
Doodle Doodle Doo , mmmmmm got to love the doodles, lol!
Plus I think it helps to bed the papers in and give them some life, not quite so flat looking.
I added a few more tiny envelopes as if they were falling from her pocket, little lace trim and  alpha stickers.
As our lovely Sue is hosting the Get Altered Challenge with the theme being Hearts and it seems like forever since I have been able to join in the fun, what love letters would be complete without some hearts!
You still have time to enter my friends, just click HERE to see Sue`s project and all the entries.
  Was I finished . . . nope not quite . . .
The legs weren`t doing it for me, out with more paper scraps to make some wellies, touch more Pan Pastels mixed with Gesso and I was happeeeee.
{ my hands were singing with the joy of getting messy again at last! }
A little wire wrapped around the block of wood, twisting the ends to make a jump ring along with a little tag.
From scraps of wood and paper to a memory block for Alex for Valentines day!
Thank you so much for letting me share a little part of me with you all and I hope you enjoyed following along.
Till next time
Happy Crafting!

eTeam Picks Challenge - Recycling

Hello everyone, Tracy here today and I am soooo excited to be hosting the eTeam Picks Challenge this month.
The theme that I have chosen this month is . . .
Recycling
It can be anything from your craft stash to tin cans, book pages, paper bags . . . the list just goes on and on.
All I ask is that you have a blast, create and let your imagination run wild!
  { list of materials and links at the end of this post }

All the details for participating in the challenge are listed at the bottom of this post, so be sure to scroll through and check it out . . . plus you could win $15 to spend in the amazing eP store..woohoo!!
 Sooooo what have I made?
As you all know Kim is opening a brick and mortar store . . . woohooohooo . . . I am so excited and wish I stayed closer, I would never be away, lol!
So with this in mind, I remembered I had a huuuge chunk of wood { 2ft tall } that I had picked up from the allotment over the summer that was drying out.
Why I hear you cry . . . because when I look at it, it reminded me of a tall house with a wonky tonky roof and I haaaaad to have it.
Being on the eclectic Paperie Team inspires me and pushes me to let my imagination go wild and this wonky tonky house is my take on Kim`s FABULOUS shop full of wonder and inspiration!
I started out cutting up some recycled cardboard into windows and a door, stripping the top layer off randomly and sticking in place with my glue gun.
Followed by Gesso all over . . . I would be lost without this stuff, I looove it!
Next Embossing Paste along with a spatula to apply it through  stencil for a little more detail and texture.
The little metal fixing on the door came from my dolls house stash, yep I have a dolls house too, lol.
They were a tad too bright, so more Gesso was added and as I am sooo impatient I popped my heat tool on and I loooove how it bubbles up the Gesso.
You can see here that I had started to add color with Distress Stains in Fired Brick, I splodged some on my mat and applied with a brush.
After the Stain I pulled out my Pan Pastels and instead of applying with a Sofft Tool I used my fingers using Pans from Mixed Media sets 1 & 2 , adding and blending till I was happy and my fingers were colorful!
A little doodle doodle doo and a mixture of stamping, Rub Ons and a little German Glass Glitter was added.
I used a Sofft Tool and a Black Pan Pastel to go around the door to add some shadows and make it look like it had always been there.
 The windows . . .
you can see the yummy texture of the wood along with the Embossing Paste Bricks now colored with Pan Pastels.
The Sentiment on all the windows are from
Unity Stamp Co./ Donna Downey stamp set
and have all been recycled from an old project as was the button.
The heartfelt creation words are from the back of Pink Paislee She Art Doily Rub On Packaging, nope I throw nothing away, lol!
A little Tim Holtz Remnant Rubs and Pink Paislee Doily Rub ons was added randomly to the windows as you will see below.
Do what makes you happy and paper, paint and memories . . .came from the recycled packaging. Ohhhh, that`s the brush I had ruined, it had became soooo hard and unuseable but hey it works great on here.
Ooops forgot to mention the background, I did use a Sofft Sponge to apply the Pan Pastels and to blend them together . .  I just kept applying colors until I was happy with the result. The sponges come in the Mixed Media sets.
See the pretty paper strips . . . they are the borders from along 6x6 papers in the pads , a quick snip snip and a little Gel medium to fix in place . . .it`s amazing what you can use if you just look around your stash.
Ahhhh now my roof, isn`t it deeelish!!!
If you have ever bought anything from the
Pink Paislee Christy Tomlinson She Art Collection
then you know how beautiful they are packaged and way too good to throw away.
My roof has been made from the back of the packaging . . . the same ones that I got some of the words from.
I stuck them to some more recycled cardboard to make it stronger before applying Gesso and a little Pan Pastel.
This is soooo mahoosive that it was real tricky to photograph . . .
. . . but I hope you get the gist of it all.
I have been unwell since Friday night with a bad viral infection and sadly been unable to get out to my shed to finish the sides . . .
I have a Tim Holtz little lantern that light ups and will be added on the side with a canopy to hide the battery.
I also want to add scraps of paper and a window or two along with a teeny tiny door for the wee fairy folk to enter . . . Yes . . . my imagination is still going while I lie here in my bed annoyed at being ill, lol!

Part 1 . . . 12 Days of Christmas mixed media Journal

Hi everyone, Tracy here today to share my love of old books and Christmas . . . oops there`s that C word again, lol!
My parcel from the lovely Kim arrived with so much goodness, want to see?
Simply deeelish isn`t it . . .
For the last few years I have joined in with the December Daily Journal, recording each day of December in the run up to that special day
but
this year I thought that I would only do the 12 days before Christmas
why I hear you ask . . .
Well, I do love to see a big fat squishy book brimming with memories at the end of it all
but
seriously, it`s hard to fit in the time to create each day plus the 12 days before Christmas is when the magic starts to happen here . . .
traditions, baking, bustling around the shops, wrapping presents, Christmas Choirs, family time!
I even journal putting up the tree and the chaos that involves tree lights!
I want  my journal to have an old worldly feel to it, so this year I am journaling it all in this old book above and making it more mixed media.
I started by taking a lot of pages out first . . . I love working with book pages and now have a tidy little stack to hand!
A quick coat of Gesso to prime the book ready for a mixture of Pan Pastels and Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads along with some of those beeeautiful Graphic 45 Papers.
Now yet again more apologies from me . . . this is the only picture I managed to take of the process.
But I do promise it is easy peasy, just grab some supplies and get messy!!
When it`s done you`ll get that tingle in your tummy, lol.
I used 1 sheet of the paper to make the tree and can you see, it starts from the bottom with
on the first day of Christmas right up to
the twelth day at the top.
I added a little homespun feel with some stitching and I didn`t cut of the threads, just left them hanging loose.
I haven`t done much to the back except apply Gesso, Pan pastels, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads and one of the Graphic 45 Stickers . . . it may all change so watch this space!
A little door knob was added and some ribbon to finish the cover.
I hope you have enjoyed looking and that I might even have inspired you to have a go yourself, I promise when you get to the end and it`s stuffed to bursting with pictures, notes, treasured memories and family recipes you will have created a keepsake for years to come!
Next time I am going to show you how I created the inside pages step by step . . .
 oh you had a fainting spell there didn`t you . . .
go on you can admit it, lol . . .
but yep I have already started the step by steps, woohoohoo and I am can`t wait to share them with you all next time.
Till then
Happy Crafting
