Shaped Card - Pile It On #42

This week the challenge at Pile It On is to make a shaped card. No rectangle or squares this week. There's so many fun shapes that are pretty easy to make. Some easy shapes to make are Christmas trees, dog bones, eggs, circles and hearts. An easy way to make a shaped card is using a die cut. You might have a child's coloring book that has some pictures you can use for a template. The crayon shape was very simple and until I came across the stamp I would never have thought of it. It's a small single stamp, I think it cost about $1.00. Let your stamps be your inspiration. If you don't have a template do a google search and you're sure to find a picture you can use. Just remember to leave a small bit on the edge for the fold. When you're making shaped cards you can go with a clean and simple look like this one or you can get wild and crazy and put lots of embellishments on it. Have fun making it and them link it up on the Pile It On challenge blog.
Here's the deets:
stamp - Imaginisce "Crayons"
ink - Memento "Tuxedo Black"
paper - Bazzill unmarked card stock
miscellaneous - copics

Spring Flower Cupcakes

CIC152
How about this eye candy!  These cupcakes are just screaming springtime, flowers and pastel colors.  This is the inspiration photo for this week's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge CIC152 sponsored by Di's Digital Downloads.   One of you lucky crafters is going to get something very cute.

This a great starting point.  My head was spinning with ideas.  First thing that came to my mind was pull out all my flower dies and there's quite a few of them.  I spent a couple happy hours (remember, I'm easily amused) making flowers.  It's amazing how time flies when you're doing stuff you like.

At some point I remembered the teapot template that was on the Top Tip Tuesday Challenge blog.  I had printed out the tutorial hoping to use it, and this seemed like the perfect time.
The lid comes off, just like a real teapot, to reveal an image, or sentiment or with a little playing around you could attach a gift card there.

Once I got the card assembled I decided to use only one of the flowers I made, the yellow one.  It was made with two different dies.  The daisy die was used for the outer petals and the inside was made with the smallest rolled rose.

I wanted you to see that the lid pulls up and out.  Isn't that clever!  I do love this idea and it's very easy to make so if you love shaped cards and/or teapots stop over at Top Tip for the template and tutorial.

The lid piece comes all the way out.  I stamped the sentiment on this piece before I made the teapot.  At this point in time I had no idea I was going to use the ticket die and stamp which has a sentiment.  I hadn't thiought about how I was going to decorate the teapot and as I went trhough stamps and embellishments I came across the ticket and die set and decided to try that one out.  Maybe I'll replace the stamped sentiment on the lid piece with a blank piece of cardstock so that I can write a note, and maybe not.   It's good to have options.

Here's the deets:
stamp - My Favorite Things "Ticket Die-namics"; sentiment Heidi Grace "Quotes"
ink - Memento "Tuxedo Black"; Ranger "Tattered Rose" and "Tea Dye"; Versa Magic "Spring Pansy"
paper - Stampin' Up "Pale Plum" cs and "Patterns Stack - Subtles" dsp for flower and flourish; K & Co "Susan Winget Spring Blossoms" dp
miscellaneous - My Favorite Things die-namics "Fancy Flourish","Rolled Daisy" and "Rolled Rose"; lace; pearls; flowers

Funny Bunny

I don't know about anyone else but when I see a bunny on a ladder decorating a Christmas tree, it makes me giggle.  Earlier this week the Cat's Pajamas challenge was to make a shaped card.  I was thinking about making an egg shaped Easter card but then I saw the Bah Humbug challenge to make something that makes you giggle.  Well, I haven't made a Christmas card in a day or two so I decided to make a tree shaped card.
Of course I don't have a template for a tree but why let a little thing like that get in my way.  It's a pretty simple shape so I just winged it.  To get it relatively even I made my template on 4=1/4" x  5-1/2" piece of paper that I folded in half, drew half the image and cut it out.  When you unfold it both sides should be the same.  Clear as mud, huh?
I cut down the template to use for the dp.  After getting that done I just glued a lot of bling on it, stuck an eyelet on it and used some divine twine to hang a charm.

don't forget the inside

Here's the deets:
stamp - the Cat's Pajamas "Your Gift"
ink - Memento Tuxedo Black
paper - Stampin' Up green cs for base; Bo Bunny dp
miscellaneous - copics; divine twine; charm; bling;
