Hippity Hop

It's time for another Paper Pretties challenge.  This week we want you to use punches.  Now that's an easy challenge.  You can use any theme, any color scheme, any sketch, it's up to you, just use some punches.  Heck, you can even use any stamps you'd like but if you have a Paper Pretties stamp we'd sure love to see how you use it.

My card uses "Hippity Hoppity Sophia".  Sophia is one of my favorite characters and this stamp set is especially fun.  It comes with a couple sentiments and a couple small egg stamps, which you can use to make your own dp.  I used a corner rounder punch, a wavy edge border, a grass border, an oval and a scalloped oval.  I think that the green design paper matches well but sadly the punches I used on it don't show as well as they would have on a solid card stock.  Well, that's how you learn, you try something and if it works that's great and if it doesn't well, you've learned something.

Here's the deets:
stamp - Paper Pretties "Hippity Hoppity Sophia"
ink - Memento "Tuxedo Black" and Close To My Heart "Ocean"
paper - My Favorite Things "Pink Lemonade" cs; October Afternoon :"Ducks In a Row" and "Sidewalks"
miscellaneous - copics; Stampin' Up "Oval" and "Scalloped Oval" punch; EK Success "Dotted Wave" border punch; Martha Stewart "Grass" border punch; corner rounder punch; bling; charm; cord; My Favorite Things "Oval Stax" die-namics

PWC246 - Circle Cards

This week at Paper Pretties were going round in circles.   Challenge PWC246 is to make a circle card.  For me it was relatively easy because I have a package of plain white scalloped circle cards.  If you have to make your own circle card it isn't very difficult and there are several ways to do it.  Use your circle dies with a folded piece of card stock, leaving a small section of the folded edge inside the die when you cut it out.  Or you can cut out two full circles and a small rectangle.  Fold the rectangle in half and attach it to the inside of the circles.   You can find directions on Splitcoast Stampers in the tutorials or do an Internet search for directions.

My card was made with a Paper Pretties digital image, "Daisy".    Don't you just love the sentiment?  I get a kick out of it, it's silly and we can all use a little more silliness in our days.  The digi set includes 3 sentiments.   Besides rubber and clear stamps Paper Pretties has many digital images for sale.  Digis are great for lots of reasons.  They can be made to whatever size you want.  They always make a perfect print.  They don't require any storage space.  You  get them quickly, faster than Fed Ex and they're inexpensive.  Go take a look at the digi section of the Paper Pretties store, I bet you'll fill a cart in no time so pace yourself.

Here's the deets:
stamp - Paper Pretties "Daisy" digi
ink - hp printer
paper - Studio G card base; Imaginisce "Splash Dance- Bubble Bash"
miscellaneous - copics; Glossy Accents; bling; fish button (shank removed)

Devastatia

CIC131
I think this is Jack Skeleton and Sally's wedding cake.  Weren't they the perfect couple.  A match made in Halloweentown.  Where ever this cake came from it's a great inspirational piece for this week's Cupcake Inspirations challenge #131.  This week we're being sponsored by Kenny K and there will be 3 prizes awarded so go your crayons sharpened up.

This week there's a second inspiration cake.  So if you're not a fan of Halloween you can use the "Sweet 16" cake for your inspiration.  So like I said before - go get those crayons ready.

CIC131b

I happen to be a big fan of Halloween so you know which cake I picked.

This week has been incredibly busy and stressful for me.  My daughter had to have unanticipated surgery on Tuesday to remove a pilonial cyst and just a couple days earlier we adopted a puppy (our kitty was not too happy).   So I haven't been paying as much attention to blogging as I normally would.  Tomorrow we go back to the surgeon to find out if she can return to school.  Keep your fingers crossed.

For those of you who have been waiting to see a photo of our new fur baby here's a pic of his adorable face.

His name is Bill Bailey.  He came to us from Underdog which is a rescue group here in Bradenton.  If you're looking to get a pet I encourage you to look into a rescue dog, I found Underdog by doing a google search for rescue dogs in my area.  There are so many deserving animals in need of a home.  Can you believe that Bill was slated for execution?  I am so glad that Underdog rescued him and a wonderful couple were willing to give him a home till he was ready to be adopted.

It took a week but Shamus was finally willing to make friends with Bill.
