Happy Thanksgiving!

Three things to be thankful for:
(1) friends
(2) family
(3) good health

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!  May your day be filled with good friends, old traditions and new memories.

One of my favorite traditional foods is sweet potato pie, and I'm a great fan of it!  I've never ever liked pumpkin pie, possibly because my mom never made it.

BUT, if pumpkin pie is your favorite, I couldn't resist sharing this serving suggestion that I found on Facebook -

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy New Year 2014

Happy New Year, everyone!

Enjoy every minute!

My New Year's wish for you:

I wish you enough time to quilt as you may
And also much joy as you piece and appliqué;
Creative license as you try new patterns (or old)
And the joy of accomplishment as your creation unfolds.

I wish you encouragement when you make a boo-boo
(a mistake is just another point of view)
The ability to sew that "scant" quarter inch
Or the cleverness to readjust it in a pinch.

I wish you the best tools, and room to store them all
And enough layout space on your design wall.
Real plans to use all the stuff you bring home
and real plans to finish what you've partially sewn.

Above all, I hope 2014 sends
A really blessed year for all my quilty friends!

Memorial Day

Credit: CBS News; AP Photo/Susan Walsh
A visitor to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial touches the name of a fallen soldier etched on the wall of the memorial in Washington, DC. Today, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall begins the national commemoration of the Vietnam War's 50th anniversary.

A special thank you note to everyone currently serving our country, and those who have served our country. Let us not forget those who have sacrificed for our freedom.

As you travel about to the various events and activities taking place or participate in family gatherings, have an enjoyable, safe and blessed Memorial Day!
