PUMPKIN TIME...

Finally we get some pumpkins from our back yard.
This plant is growing wildly next to the kitchen window, climbing on the trellis.
Lets we count the total fruits which hanging on the trellis.
One... Two... Three... Four... Five... Six...
Yaay... We get Six mini pumpkins...
Actually I have no hope, caused by lots of little fruits fallen down on to the ground, infected by fruit flies.
But Now... We are warning for the  mini pumpkins get ready to be harvested.
Thanks GOD.

NEW PUMPKIN THIS SEASON

Rain... rain... rain...
Water here and there.
Our garden looks so wet.
So many plants are growing like crazy.
This plant makes me so interested... yeah the pumpkin!
Self grown pumpkin, It might came from the compost heap.
Beautiful leaves... so lush!
This plant is taking over the the path way.
When I was checking the raised bed, I found an interesting thing.
A little pumpkin fruit is hanging on the vine.
I can't wait to see the fruit ripe...

HOPEFULLY PUMPKIN PATCH

Love to see our pumpkin patch.

Actually it's a self grown pumpkin that's growing happily on the pathway among the gravel.
We can see the pumpkin patch here.

Lots of flowers there, but mostly are male flowers.

Whatever... they are so beautiful!

Some visitors really enjoy the flowers...

When we notice the plant, some female buds are popping up from the stem segments.

It looks so promising!

Some of the female flower buds failed in blooming then withered and fallen.

Whatever it happened, I'm sure we will get some healthy pumpkin next.
I hope...

A BED FOR PUMPKIN

This raised bed was so bad in the early of April.
Very embarrassing, a lazy gardener!
I don't know how long I ignored this space.

This raised bed actually was for chili pepper, edible cosmos, eggplant, red amaranth, kangkung and green bean.
Lots of rain made this bed was full of weeds and self seedling vegetables.

The weed was so thick.

The red amaranths looked so poor.

We can find lots of self seedling Japanese lettuces and also edible cosmos (Cosmos caudatus).
A self seedling pumpkin that popped up among the gravel of the path way finally climbing on the A-trellis, scrambling space with the withered green bean vines.
Now, after we tidied up this raised bed, this bed is full for pumpkin.
We keep the volunteer grow well on the trellis.
And give more space on the path way for adding the compost.

Steamed for about 5-10 minutes...

Smooth and sweet texture...

Enjoy the homegrown pumpkin.

Lots of yellow cherry tomatoes become  great healthy snacks.

All fresh from my tiny garden.

EASTERN BACKYARD ON SEPTEMBER

This was my eastern backyard on July...

Too much shade here.
Some trees grew taller and taller, but they were not productive.

Then I cut down them on August, and this space looked brighter, more sunshine...
So I can grow so many vegetables here.

The  Kara bean (Phaseolus lunatus) grow so healthy here.

Pandan leaves on the corner, and a little pumpkin seedling on the edge of the poor raised bed.

There are three new pepper (Piper nigrum) vines.

Some climbers looks so thrive.

These are the climbers closer.

The white jasmine is showing me its flower buds.

Another variety of Kara bean.

The Jeruk purut (Citrus hystrix) finally 'green' again with its leaves.

The edible alocasia looks so healthy.

The sirih (Piper betel) is climbing so high and looks so poor in this dry season.

Row of eggplants and celery pots.

A pot of little guava tree is growing better right now.
Actually it  was  tough for me to lose some plants that I loved.
There's always a bright side in each decision...
