'CEMPAKA GONDOK IS BLOOMING

Sweet fruity fragrance spread in our bedroom this morning.

So lovely...

I'm looking for the source of that smell.

I get it...
This is 'Cempaka Gondok' or 'Cempaka Telur'

A kind of Magnolia is blooming.

So sweet...

CEMPAKA GONDOK : A MORNING FRAGRANCE

Last week, we found a sweet fruity aroma from my bedroom.

 

Hmmm... yeah of course it must be a magnolia fragrance...

 

When I opened the curtain I saw two 'Cempaka Gondok' (Magnolia liliifera) were hanging on the little magnolia tree next to our bedroom.

 

Look... the pot have already too small. 

 

I think I have to move it into bigger pot.

 

Enjoying the sweet fragrance...

Although we only enjoy  for a while

 

Caused by the aroma only spread for about 3 hours in the morning.

 

A morning fragrance...

And I still had a flowers bud, that will bloom later

CEMPAKA GONDOK : BLOOMING

A sweet-fruity aroma from our eastern back yard this morning...

So lovely...
Finally, our Cempaka Gondok or magnolia is blooming again, after a very long time from the first blossom.
The first blossom was failed.
It was fallen before the petal full opened.

There are three flower buds in this little tree.

The first flower a day before blooming...

Now, the first flower is full blooming...

Yellow-green flower...
So exotic...

So beautiful...

Fruity scent, so fascinating...
I can smell very nice aroma from my bedroom.

The second one is nearly blooming it may two days next.

And the last one is about four or five days to the peak of blooming.
It really makes me so happy.

PROGRESS OF MY CEMPAKA GONDOK

It's so interesting to notice the progress of my cempaka gondok or magnolia.

Here they are the progress...

Two days ago the petal was turning pale green.

And yesterday morning, the outer petals turned creamy and I smell a bit of sweet fruity scent, I was thinking that this flower was starting bloom.

I was so happy...

It was so interesting!

Some petals have fallen on the ground.

When I went home before the mid day, I was so surprised when I saw no petals on the stalk, just pistils and ovary remain.

Then I noticed this plant, and I found wrapped petals have fallen on the ground.

That was so unusual...

The petal opened on the bottom side, not on the up side.

This was the up side...

And this was the bottom side...

Oh please... I couldn't find the real blossom.

I hope, next time I will be lucky.

FLOWER BUD

This is my 'Cempaka Gondok' or magnolia, that I got as a gift for my baby birth.

You can see the plant here.

The plant have been moved into bigger pot and I put it next to my bedroom, so I can see this plant from the window almost everyday.

Look... I found a flower bud!

Last week, when the bud was still small, I though it just a shoot.

I can wait to see the flower bloom and enjoy the exotic fragrance, peoples say it's a heavenly fragrance...

That makes me so happy...

GIFT OF THE WEEK : LITTLE TREE OF CEMPAKA GONDOK

Maybe you still remember with my old post about gift of the week.
I got a sacred flower from my friend about two years ago.
Yes, Cempaka gondok or Cempaka Telur is a sacred flower on Javanese tradition.

Several days ago, he gave me a little plant of Cempaka gondok as a gift for my baby born moment.

This is a rare plant, of course I'm so happy.

It's not sold on nurseries.
Thank you for the present friend...
You add more collection into my little garden.
I hope this little plant will grow so happy on the new place, my home garden...

GIFT OF THE WEEK : CEMPAKA GONDOK

This was what I got this week.
A sacred flower for Javanese peoples.

My friend gave me a Magnolia flower bud several days ago.
It was a local variety of Magnolia.

We call it Cempaka Gondok Kuning, Cempaka Kebo or Cempaka telur (Magnolia liliifera).
Telur means egg, cause the flower bud have the same shape and size like as a chicken egg, even bigger.

The aroma is like as Sallaca fruit.

We could enjoy the scent only in the morning time for about two or three hours.
