A LOVELY WHITE PAKCOY

Love to see this part...

Some Brassicas are growing healthy here.
There are about ten Brassica family that we planted here.
White pakcoy, green pakcoy, sawi 'keriting', sawi 'Samhong', kale 'Green curly', kale 'Red Rusian', Kale 'Scarlet', petsai, sawi 'Ta Ke Cai' and cabbage.

But this white pakcoy is really catching my eyes.

Grow so healthy...
Looks so fresh and crispy.

Actually, this is one from two survivors in our roof garden.
This is the other one...
A bit smaller.

Whatever they provide healthy food for us.
We have been picking the lower leaves for several times.
Thanks GOD...

CABBAGE : HARVESTING THE SECONDARY SHOOTS

As usual,  I will let the main stalk of the cabbage plants to produce shoots from leaf axils afternoon the main 'head' harvested.
Look...  We have three little 'new'  cabbages from an old stalk.
The leaves usually have a bit sweet an crispy  texture.
Even more if we pick the shoots earlier, young tender leaves mostly sweet  and tasty.
Thanks GOD...

BROCCOLI : THE BEST PATCH

Finally, I can do blogging for a while.
More than a month I couldn't do that.
So many reason... we had an poor internet connection and also I had enough time.
Busy days and of course tiring days.
Only limited time to do gardening chores.
So... our garden was neglected.
Drought and caterpillar be serious problems in our garden during August.
I have to "steal" time although only for a while to watering our poor garden.
Remembering the best broccoli patch ever in our garden.
This year we get it...
I really love it!
The picture below was the broccoli patch in our back yard in late of May.

And this was in August

And these were in September...

Thanks God for giving us this lovely patch...

KAILAN : TASTE THE LAST HARVEST

This is the last from our kailan or kale patch.
It's seem too late to harvest these kailan.

Most of them have already flowered.

I think the stem haven't tough yet.
Still crispy and a bit juicy.
I think they will be a tasty stir fried kale with meatball.

Thanks GOD for everything.

PAKCOY : A SPOT IN OUR SOUTHERN BALCONY

Our southern balcony is a bit green right now.

A container that full of greens is spoiling my eyes.

Ten of pakcoy and four celery.
I have forgotten when I planted them.
They might be transplanted in February.

This space is a part shady area.
Great sun shine in the morning.

The veggies look so fresh.
I like it...

Thanks GOD...

ENJOYING THE GARDEN TABLE

We have been having lovely sunny morning since four days ago.
Bright shine and warm weather.

Enjoying this moment for some gardening chores.
Pruning, weeding and watering our terrace garden.
The heat makes this morning is a sweaty morning, a bit tiring but a lot of fun.
So, just taking a rest for a moment and then enjoying the beauty on our table.
There are five little pot here.

First, a beautiful pakcoy 'Nai Bai'.
Such a same to harvest and cook it.

The second, a kind of ground orchid.
The foliage is so interesting.

Then a pot of Nanas kerang or Rhoeo discolor (Tradescantia spathacea).
It's seem etiolated.

The fourth is a green striped Bromelliad.
Looks so compact, I like it.

And the last one is the most lovely thing here.
White flowered Pelargonium is blooming for the second time.
Beautiful...

Thanks GOD for this beautiful world!

KAILAN : SECOND BATCH

This is our kale patch this season.
Actually I sowed three varieties of kale or kailan, but this is the only one that germinated and then growing healthy.

This is 'Kailan Winsa'.

I'm not sure when I sowed the seeds.
It might be sowed in January.

Love to see the fresh leaves...
They must be grow better if they grown on the ground.

The tubby stem looks so juicy...

I think both of leaves and stem are so crispy.

They must be so delicious to be stir fried.
Mmm... yummy!

RED PAKCOY : A LOVELY PATCH

Such a lovely thing...
Finally my red pakcoys grow so healthy.

The first batch I sowed a pinch of seeds, and there five seed germinated and grow bigger and bigger.

So... we can find more color in our terrace garden.

Such a shame to harvest them...

Too beautiful to be cooked and eaten.
