Last 3 Christmas cards 2013

Yippee!!!! I am so excited!  I finished my Christmas cards for this year!
I looked back over my stash and I made over 45 unique Christmas card designs this year.  I started in July.  I enjoyed it but am looking forward to doing some cards for something other than Christmas!

4 lattice 4 Christmas

I am still needing more Christmas cards, so to be easy on myself I whipped up a few using the lattice die.  I sure love that die and find it super fun to create with.
I combined it with some patterned paper and black layers with a few simple embellishments.
I think I made all 4 in 20 minutes.

Best of SNOW

Some cards featuring a new stamp set I got called "Best of Snow".

The first one I masked the oval shape and sponged inside, then stamped.
The bottom ones I used the window collections framelit shape and put a square behind it and used 3 embossed panels.

Small Poinsettia - framed

I made this card for our Queen this week.
I used 4 framelits to make the frame.  I cut out two of the "inside" of the Poinsettia in Joyful Christmas and layered them.
There are black glimmer brads on top and bottom.

Queen 180 - Christmas Poinsettias

Made this card in honour of our Queen #180 this week.  If you want to play along with the challenge that I host on Splitcoast.  It is called the Queen for the Day.  You can find the information here.

I love this Christmas set - Joyful Christmas!  This time I stamped with black ink on cherry cobbler paper and cut out.  Added some rhinestone bling!

Poinsettia in part

Playing with my new Christmas stamp set.  I versamarked the image first on the craft, then did another layer embossed on the red paper and cut out overtop.  I love this pretty set and I love the sentiments that go with it.

The layout is from Sketch Frenzy Friday.

Poinsettia with lattice

I combined some great new things for this card.  The poinsettia image and sentiment from Joyful Christmas I embossed in pewter.  I added a fun embellishment to the middle.
I doubled the lattice (white and gray).  The so saffron yellow strip is embossed with stripes.

This is for the layout at Sketch Frenzy Friday.

Only 5 Christmas cards left

After all the Christmas cards I've already given out.  I counted my list again and I still have 5 left to make.  Now after this I have only 4.  If only I enjoyed making multiples of the same design - that would make it easier!!!

This is for a couple challenges.  The layout is from Retrosketches.
The 'ABC" Challenge blog was to make a Christmas card with piercing!
I pierced the brown square around the snowflake and also along the zig zag edges.
I glued the snowflake onto the apothecary accents shape (in white) and embossed it.  There is a large rhinestone in the center.

Retired 4 Challenge Christmas fun

I thought I was had enough Christmas cards, but counted again today and am still way short.  I decided to dig out some of my favorite retired SU! images to play with some challenges.

The Dasher card is for the layout from RetroSketches.  The sentiment is from Lots of Thoughts.
The colors are from Paper Players - Cherry Cobbler, Pool Party and neutral (sahara sand & choc chip)

On this card I used the Snowboarder image (cut out and popped up) and the lovely Medallion stamp (embossed in white) and Many Merry Messages.  I really like this card and don't think the photo really shows it off very well.

The colors are from Fab Friday - pool party, gumball green, primrose petals, real red, white
The layout is from Clean & Simple Stamping - fall-to-layout #220.

Snowman with ornament

I made this snowman from 3 circles, a tiny piece from the inside of the triple blossom punch (for the nose) and the bird punch for the arms.  I also used a small piece of ribbon for the scarf.  I even cut the ends of it (which you can't see in the picture).  I popped up each of the circles with a dimensional.

I also used Top Note die, ornament punch (saying from Word Play), white twine, photo corner punch, patterned paper and embossing.  I drew in the eyes and mouth of the snowman with markers.

This is for the challenge at The Paper Players and also the Splitcoast challenge to make a snowman.

Christmas Combo - Easy Frosty Evergreen Road

I made 8 of these Christmas cards to give to kids in my Sunday School.
I tried to make something simple, yet nice.

I combined 4 stamp sets to make this scene and I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to line them up:
- Road to Happiness (car)
- Frosty Friends (snowman)
- Evergreen (tree)
- Easy Events (merry Christmas)

I added a torn edge and an embossed edgelit edge with some patterned paper.

Red Birds - combining 3

I made this for our Queen this week. I'd love for you to join in with the Queen for the Day Challenge that I host on Splitcoast.

I combined 3 stamp sets to make this card.  Evergreen, Serene Silhouettes and Snow Swirled (the sentiment).  I stamped the scene on a piece of vanilla, then cut it into 3 sections, then trimmed some of the sections so they were of different heights.
The bottom red piece is cut out with edgelit and embossed with the matching pattern.

A Perfect White Night Snowflake

This card is for the color challenge - A Perfect White Night (perfect plum, white & night of navy)
I also used some black.  A cute snowflake die cut (and boho blossom punch center) and lots of embossing!

This fun layout is from Technostamper.

Blue & Gold Chickadee

I made this card for 3 challenges...
The challenge at The Paper Players was to use gold or silver.  I embossed the bird image, the sentiment and the edges with gold.
Which fit right in with the technique at Splitcoast to emboss the edges.  I used a versamark pen around the edge of the kraft paper and embossed it.  I also sponged with blue.  The sentiment is popped up over the decorative label punch and I added two pearls.
I got the layout from Sketch Frenzy Friday.

I am submitting this card for the design team tryout at The Paper Players.

Folded Christmas tree

A cute and easy fold.  You use a circle cut in half.  The tutorial is here.  This was the technique on Splitcoast today.

I also used Tasteful Trim die, Top Note die and punches - boho blossoms, oval, dotted scallop trim and decorative label.

We will be making this and 2 other punch art cards at my next card classes.

Christmas Candle - again

I just love the Christmas candle punch art!  I use the bird punch and the modern label punch and some sponging to create the candle.  This time I used an embossing folder behind to create the "glow".

This card is made for 3 challenges.
The layout at Splitcoast.
The colors from Hand Stamped Sentiments - early espresso, old olive, more mustard, elegant eggplant.
Also for 'ABC' Challenges - tic tac toe - green cardstock, twine and leaves.
