THE STARVING ARTISTS are having another SUNDAY AM practice! May have found a NEW drummer in a guy named VICTOR tonight. He is a young manager at WALGREENS that developed my pictures. from the collection of RON MURPHY. The weather here was quite wintery today and bought some cool CHRISTMAS decorations for my house today at AMERICAN SALES. It will definitely be a WINTER WONDERLAND here this year!

AUCTIONS

I have some cool things on EBAY right now and more coming under seller ANIMAGIC1 and MISER BROS. This is a cool SID & MARTY KROFFT auction catalog I have up that was limited to 3,000. The KROFFTS sold off alot of their original costumes, artwqork, props, etc. about 10 years ago and one of their former employees told me about the auction at the SAN DIEGO COMICON (When I was appearing at the con signing books). My pal PATRICK sold his copy yesterday for well over $200. My ENCHANTED WORLD OF RANKIN/BASS One-Of-A-Kind softcover already sold for the $100 I was asking. The remaining hardcover that I have in stock is on EBAY right now at about $89.

My son Josh asked me to print up one softcover of THE ENCHANTED WORLD OF RANKIN/BASS: A PORTFOLIO to see what it looked like with the new pages/3rd Edition. Mark Christiansen's SID SIRLOIN and His Friends book!

My friend MARK CHRISTIANSEN sent his amazing book SID SIRLOIN & HIS FRIENDS and I received it today! BEAUTIFUL art!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book and it is very affordable at www.markscartoonart.blogspot.com and well worth the $! Mark, along with my pal PATRICK OWSLEY and friend MIKE FONTANELLI worked on many things at WARNER BROTHERS CONSUMER PRODUCTS including HANNA-BARBERA style guides.....making the world a better place visually! These are definitely the guys that should be designing, among other things, the DVD box set covers for the classic HANNA-BARBERA series and WARNER BROTHERS LOONEY TUNES sets! They have all the talent in the world to do the packages justice! Not sure who runs things at WARNER BROTHERS CONSUMER PRODUCTS anymore BUT I suspect it to be young people with a blind eye to quality art. I am not even sure if they have seen the cartoons that are in the DVD sets. Wait until you get this SID SIRLOIN book...it is done in that classic HANNA-BARBERA style and is candy for the eyes!

RANKIN/BASS HOLIDAY TV GUIDE ADS!

My pal RON MURPHY sent these cool R/B ads over tonight! Notice the very RARE and never-before-seen PAUL COKER, JR. Pre-production art for THE EASTER BUNNY IS COMIN' TO TOWN, which eventually was made into an ANIMAGIC (Stop-motion) TV special! The RUDOLPH'S SHINY NEW YEAR ad is from it's first broadcast. Both ANIMAGIC specials are available on DVD. I did pick up a few hardcover copies of my first book tonight and listed one on EBAY under ANIMAGIC1. I also picked up a unique soft cover copy with the original cover that I may list later. My son Josh wanted to see a softcover example with the updated pages. Called AMAZON tonight and getting closer to publishing on KINDLE.

Did you know? The original RANKIN/BASS ANIMAGIC TV SPECIAL THE BALLAD OF SMOKEY THE BEAR originally aired on the GENERAL ELECTRIC FANTASY HOUR on THANKSGIVING DAY 1966. It is a very popular special on DVD and one of my favorites. It has that early RANKIN/BASS look and features the songs of JOHNNY MARKS (RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER).

THE SMITHEREENS have another cool BEATLES tribute CD out called THE SMITHEREENS B-SIDES THE BEATLES! They had our pal JACK DAVIS do the cover art...GREAT choice! The CD also features drummer ANDY WHITE on P.S. I LOVE YOU. He played drums on the original BEATLES' single along with the first version of LOVE ME DO (due to the fact GEORGE MARTIN wasn't sure about RINGO STARR yet). MEET THE SMITHEREENS was a big hit in our household and I am sure this one will be too!

THE STINGIEST MAN IN TOWN

This special is now out on DVD in the new RED box set entitled CHRISTMAS CLASSIC FAVORITES (Should have the name RANKIN/BASS in the title BUT they put HOW THE GRINCH STOLE CHRISTMAS in the box set too for some unknown reason). The box set is available at TARGET. Love the PAUL COKER, JR. model sheets for this special and the animation stayed pretty true to his style.

I have also been trying to get it up along with my second book on SPINDLE at AMAZON.COM BUT it seems like I am fighting a losing battle. Every time I click publish (It says my book is ready to publish)...an error message comes up. I think AMAZON laid off one too many employees recently. There seems to be no live bodies there to help. Everything is being taken over by computers? I will keep trying though....
