NUDE HIPPO : YOUR CHICAGO SHOW 12-21-06

We shot our segment today for the NUDE HIPPO : YOUR CHICAGO SHOW today with host Raminder and cameraman Pat! It will more than likely air THURSDAY 12-21-06 at 7pm on Channel 25 (CHICAGO CABLE) BUT it may also be posted at www.nbc5.com or www.nudehippo.com It will be Re-runed at 7:30pm 12-28-06 and it is possible it could make it on the air 12-14-06 if the editing is done quickly. This segment was a little different than what we have done before and my son JOSH even made a cameo. We shot alot of my collection and even talked about my CD 'RICK GOLDSCHMIDT SINGS.' Raminder and Pat were GREAT guys and we THANK them for their visit! When you watch RUDOLPH on CBS tonight...think About CBC legend BERNARD COWAN and his contribution!

BERNARD COWAN is the CBC legend that brought the voice cast together for the classic RANKIN/BASS special RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER! He also supervised the voice casts for the classic MARVEL CARTOONS of 1966 and the SPIDER-MAN series. BERNARD had a wonderful voice himself and was the announcer in the MARVEL CARTOONS and even did the roar of the BUMBLE! His son Elliott is a director and producer in Television Production and has worked in the field for over 20 years. Elliott and I have talked about putting together a MAKING OF RUDOLPH biography and interviewing the entire RANKIN/BASS crew. This project has fallen on deaf ears with the companies currently involved with the classic RANKIN/BASS specials BUT there is a possibility of a WARNER BROTHERS RANKIN/BASS DVD box set in 2007 and we have our fingers crossed for that! At any rate, Ellioott has some wonderful, RARE RUDOLPH stuff including RARE demos, that deserve to see the light of day. The shot of the guy at the piano is JULES BASS, with LARRY D. MANN (Yukon) behind him and BERNARD just over Larry's shoulder.

Many RANKIN/BASS fans have been asking about THE LIFE & ADVENTURES OF SANTA CLAUS, so I thought I would do a post! It was the last ANIMAGIC TV Special from RANKIN/BASS and originally aired on CBS in 1985! It is based on a story by FRANK L. BAUM (WIZARD OF OZ) and is well loved by a generation of fans that grew up in the 1980's! I just got in some un-cut DVD-Rs of the special. NOTE: To enlarge photos, just CLICK ON THEM! He is the focus of an article I will be assisting with..more info to come. Paul has a GREAT sense of humor and we laugh every time we talk. He is GREAT on the radio interviews we do together. For those of you who don't know, he designed all of the GREAT RANKIN/BASS Productions like FROSTY THE SNOWMAN, SANTA CLAUS IS COMIN' TO TOWN and of course THE YEAR WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS! One of the reasons for the big rush at www.amazon.com on my book this year is the added feature for 2006 of SEARCH INSIDE THE BOOK! They allowed for the pages of the RARE GE Elf commercials to be seen and it has definitely increased sales! I have been asked to write another article on MAD MONSTER PARTY for a magazine tonight...more details to follow. I will also be on morning RADIO in Pittsburgh, PA this coming Monday at 5:10am (4:10am my time!) on WORD FM 101.5 FM! Going on Morning AM (possibly taped) Tuesday in JAMESTOWN, NY (Birthplace of Lucille Ball) with LEE JOHN on SE-93 a MEDIA ONE station!

A WIRELESS NEWSFLASH Article came out on RANKIN/BASS and myself on December 1st and we are lining up some RADIO shows. You can hear me on 12-06-2006 in Cinncinatti, Ohio on MERRY WITH MICROPHONES on the FM dial at WGRR. They said it will air through Christmas and the station features an oldies format. I will also be on 98.1 FM WOCM "The Bulldog & The Rude Awakening show" this Friday 12-08 at 8am Eastern time LIVE. This station is in the Ocean City, Maryland area and can be heard on the net at www.irieradio.com RUDOLPH airs on CBS this FRIDAY 12-08 too and we are doing my annual BOOKSIGNING as well.
