12 Kits of Occasions: Baby Edition

Christmas has come and gone and the new year is almost here...time for our monthly 12 Kits of Occasions blog post and after waiting almost a year...it's finally my turn to play hostess.  Our "baby" month theme could not be more perfect for me, while I was waiting for our first grandson to be born I have been collecting all kinds of papers, stamps and dies for my kit with almost "zero" guilt involved.  I am sure I can use every item I bought later on when I make baby scrapbooks...right?  I am sticking to that rationale!  I started my kit off with digital patterned papers from Echo Park, Bundle of Joy boy/girl editions and built the rest of the kit from there.  As always, a complete list of kit ingredients can be found on our 12 Kits of Occasions blog under the tab titled 2014 Monthly Kit Ingredients.

I made seven cards this month...my favorite one up first:

I always tuck a gift card into nearly every baby card I make...the little envelopes in the kit are perfect for adding a gift card.  This is the boy version.

Of course I had to make a Baby Girl edition of the same card...loved that pink elephant!
Wouldn't this be a sweet mobile hanging over a baby's crib?

This piece of patterned paper made it easy to complete a card...just add a die cut sentiment.

The Bundle of Joy digital elements kit has lots of cute little images that match the patterned paper.

I used my silhouette to turn a cute train image into a Print/Cut image...I could never have cut that train out so perfectly on my own!

I loved the sweet duck image and added a pinked rectangle cut from some of the matching patterned paper.

That's enough from me this month, but there are 12 other designers who have also made fun baby cards with our December kit.  This month, we have a special guest joining us...Lynn Mangan of The Mango Boys & Me.  I have always loved Lynn's cards and the fun blog stories she tells about those four boys of hers!  Please be sure to stop by her blog and see what she has made from my kit this month.

12 Kits of Occasions: October with Jessica

After today's post, I know it is officially Fall, not only the much nicer weather, but also time to start creating some fun, Autumn-themed cards.  I am extra lucky this month that Jessica of The Paper Parade is our 12 Kits of Occasions hostess and she sent us a fabulous package of goodies to play with.  Jessica's kit really put me in the Fall spirit!
Here's what I made with Jessica's kit:
Jessica included some beautiful patterned papers and cute script die cuts...this card is my favorite!

I almost cut this subway panel apart to use separately...but I could just not make myself take the scissors to such a perfectly stamped panel.  I used it as patterned paper instead.  Isn't that a cute turkey?
Once again the patterned paper shines...and I loved the wooden leaf that Jessica included with our kit.

For complete details on the stamps, papers and die cuts included in our October kit, just check out the 12 Kits of Occasions blog...all the details will be at your fingertips.  In the meantime, check out what the other members of our 12 Kits of Occasions group have created for Fall.

12 Kits of Occasions: Rewind Month

Shame on me!  I have been looking forward to our 12 Kits of Occasions "Rewind" month for quite some time...my closet is stuffed with left over materials from past kits...

I am afraid time got away from me and I have shown just about zero creativity this month.  So much so, that when my friends try to find something unique to comment on my three cards...they will probably have to say something like, "I love the background paper you chose for your photograph!"  Honestly, my cards are flat-out CASED cards...almost down to the last detail!  I have Jeanne, Kara and Tracey to thank for this month's cards...thank you sweet friends for sharing your card designs with me:

Jeanne's Card:
I loved this card from Jeanne back in April...even found the butterfly pin she included in our kit.  Thanks Jeanne.

Kara's Card:
I loved the cute snowman...the only thing I changed was the Christmas die cut!  Thanks Kara!
Tracey's Card:
I loved the cute yellow flower die cut layered over the gorgeous floral patterned paper.  Thanks Tracey!

I promise I will come up with a lot more creativity next month when our hostess is Jessica and our theme will be Fall and Thanksgiving.  You can see more of our 12 Kits of Occasions "Rewind" month cards on the 12 Kits of Occasions Blog.

12 Kits of Occasions: April with Jeanne

It's the last day of the month and I am excited to show you what I have made with this month's 12 Kits of Occasions kit...a super-deluxe, fabulous, die-cut laden package with so many ingredients...I made 5 cards and didn't even make a dent in the package.  Our hostess this month is Jeanne Jachna of A Kept Life.  I imagine Jeanne had to go out and buy herself a new die cut machine after all the cranking she did to supply us with this great kit.  Here's a picture of this month's ingredients:

I wasn't kidding about the great big kit, was I?  There's lots to look at this month and we have two guest designers listed below, so here are my cards:
This is my favorite...I loved the great big oval shaped doily and the beautiful and intricate die cut.  Every single thing on this card is from our kit and I especially love the bold patterned papers Jeanne gave us.
Like I said, lots and lots of die cuts, especially beautiful florals.

I even made good use of the negative parts of the die cut!
I loved the little ticket and the woodgrain photo frame.  I thought the embossed panel looks a lot like little tickets so the combination was an easy choice for me.
This last card is going to my mom on Mother's Day.  Is that a lot of patterned paper, or what?  I added yet another flower die cut, doily and mom sentiment.

Want to see more from the 12 Kits of Occasions group?  Head on over to the 12 Kits of Occasions blog so that you can go around and see what the rest of the team has done with this month's kit.
We are joined this month by two guest designers...and very talented ones at that.  Please stop by the blogs of Nancy Penir and Erin Thiem.  I can't wait to see what they have done with Jeanne's kit.
Thank you Jeanne...this was one of my very favorite months for the 12 Kits of Occasions...there literally was something for everyone!

12 Kits of Occasions: March with Kelly

Can you believe it is the last day of March?  Time for our March edition of the 12 Kits of Occasions.  Our monthly card kit was hosted by Kelly Schirmer of Gingham Girl and it is all about Spring and Easter.  We have another fabulous kit to work with...Kelly outdid herself this month.  Check out all the ingredients grouped together in a beautiful photo courtesy of Kara.

If this doesn't get you inspired to make some Easter/Springtime cards, I don't know what will!  I made four cards with my kit this month.

This is my favorite.  I love the cute little punched bunnies Kelly sent us and thought they looked so cute peeking out from behind some of the Easter eggs.

My second card uses the cute Easter basket with lots of colored eggs decked out with Diamond Glaze for lots of dimension.

Kelly must have been stamping eggs for days...I used some of mine in a cute patterned paper envelope and that sweet wooden butterfly button.

My last card makes use of the cute tulip image and some of the patterned paper we received in our kit.  Even the sentiment was pre-stamped...such a quick card to put together.

Want to see more from the 12 Kits of Occasions group?  Head on over to the 12 Kits of Occasions blog so that you can go around and see what the rest of the team has done with this month's kit.  You will notice we have a nice new look to our blog this month...thanks to Tracey who updated the blog with a fresh new design!  Thanks Tracey!

All the supplies are listed on the 12 Kits of Occasions blog under the tab Monthly Kit Supplies 2014 here.
Thank you Kelly for a very fun kit...I have all my family's Easter cards all done and ready to mail with time to spare!
