From The Vault: Glitter & Roses

This manicure is a monster. It's so hungry that it consumed 4 coats of polish & 4 coats of topcoat. It all started with 2 easy coats of China Glaze Aquadelic. I just love the color and the formula. It flows like water! It's like For Audrey; but darker, greener & more saturated. Then I applied China Glaze Snow Globe & China Glaze Techno in that order. For the roses I used Essie Haute As Hello & acrylic paint for the outlines.

NOTD: Look Rich, Be Cheap

I saw this manicure on The Illustrated Nail Tumblr, and thought it was badass. I decided to give something similar a try, but keep it simpler. Since my nails are not oval, I decided to keep the frame as thick as the round glitter I was going to use. This glitter sample was sent to me by Viva La Nails about two years ago. I checked out their website and it looks like they don't sell this kind of glitter anymore. I can easily find hexagonal shaped glitter that changes color according to light, but not these round, uniform, metallic-looking glitter.
I started off by painting the nails with China Glaze Midnight Kiss, neutral gold foil. Then I left a tiny frame of gold outside and filled in with black acrylic paint. I could have just painted my nails black & frame the outside with glitter, but I didn't want black to peek out from the empty spaces between glitter pieces. After framing with glitter pieces, I sealed with two coats of topcoat. I couldn't resist adding a Chanel logo on the middle nail =)
The end result surely looks rich, but it's actually pretty wallet-friendly =)

Bu manikürü The Illustrated Nail Tumblr'ında gördüğümde resmen "Off..." dedim, sizce de çok güzel değil mi? Ben de benzer bir şey denemek istedim, ama daha basit olsa daha iyi olacaktı çünkü tırnaklarım o kadar uzun ya da geniş değil... Tırnak şeklim kare olduğu için, sadece kullanacağım altın rengi simin genişliğinde bir çerçeve bırakmaya karar verdim. Bu simler, iki yıl kadar önce Viva La Nails tarafından gönderilmişti. Şu an web sitelerine baktığım zaman, bu tarz bir sim göremedim. Bu simler altıgen değil, ayrıca ışıkta renk değiştirmiyor, metalik altın rengi duruyor.
Tırnaklarıma China Glaze Midnight Kiss sürerek başladım. Midnight Kiss, altın rengi, folyo görünümlü bir oje. Daha sonra, ince bir altın rengi çerçeve bırakacak şekilde iç kısmını siyah akrilik boya ile boyadım. Tabi tırnaklarımı tamamen siyaha boyayıp sadece dış tarafa altın renkli simlerle bir çerçeve yapmak da mümkündü, üstelik daha zahmetsiz olurdu, ancak ben simlerin arasından siyah oje gözükmesini istemedim. Ya da öyle başladığım için öyle devam etmiş de olabilirim, kim bilir? =) Altın rengi simleri yerleştirdikten sonra, iki kat cila sürerek tamamladım. Bu arada orta parmağıma da bir Chanel logosu yerleştirmeye engel olamadım =)
Sonuç, son derece lüks gözüküp aslında maliyeti çok düşük olan bir manikür.

31 Day Challenge: Day 25 & OMG Giveaway Winner

Today is Day 25, nails INSPIRED BY FASHION. Well, I honestly can't say I know much about fashion. This is the second time in this challenge I felt truly stuck. I have done fashion inspired nails before, but this time I felt like all ideas have left me. I browsed Pinterest, Tumblr; I even googled "Fashion" but I still haven't heard it truly "click".
I did two manicures for today, because I felt disappointed in myself. I still do. But sometimes I have to remind myself to stop over analyzing and criticizing myself, and just let it go. It's a manicure and it's supposed to be fun! That's what I thought when I found myself still looking for ideas after the second manicure.
Here are my two manicures, one inspired by a gown by Alexander McQueen, other by a picture I've seen on Pinterest.

I applied a white creme polish, then freehanded the design using red acrylic paint & topping it with China Glaze Ring In The Red. I also used red rhinestones. I kinda like this look, reminds me of bloody wallpapers. (What's there to like? I don't know!)

This time I applied Alix Avien #245, an exact dupe for Orly Pure Porcelain. I used half pearls of different sizes for the accents.

Bugün 25. gün, temamız ise MODADAN ESİNLENEN TIRNAKLAR. Dürüst olmak gerekirse, modadan anladığımı çok da iddia edemem. Hatta bu yarışma içinde ikinci defa tıkanıp kalmama sebep olan konu oldu bu. Daha önce modadan esinlenen bir sürü manikür yaptım, ama bu sefer sanırım zorunluluk duygusu yüzünden bütün fikirlerim beni terkedip gitmiş gibi hissettim. Pinterest, Tumblr, Google... Fikir almak için hepsini gezdim ama şu ana kadar hala içime tam sinen bir fikir bulabilmiş değilim.
Bugün için iki manikürüm var, çünkü kendimi hayal kırıklığına uğrattım. Bazen kendime karşı acımasız olmamam gerektiğini hatırlamam gerekiyor. Sonuçta bu işi eğlenmek için yapıyorum öncelikle. İşte bunu iki manikürden sonra hala araştırma yaptığımı farkedince yüksek sesle söyledim kendime =)
İlk ilham aldığım, Alexander McQueen'in bir elbisesi. İkincisi ise Pinterest'de bulduğum bir resim.
Alexander McQueen'den ilham alan tırnaklarda kırmızı akrilik boyayla beyaz oje üzerine desen yaptım, China Glaze Ring In The Red ile ışıltı verdim ve son olarak da kırmızı taşlar kullandım.
İkinci manikürde ise tabanda Alix Avien #245 kullandım, daha sonra da değişik boylarda yarım inciler ile süsledim. Keşke en büyük incileri kullanmasaydım dedim sonra da...

31 Day Challenge: Day 14

Day 14 is FLOWER nails, and I was inspired by a ring I've got from SIX. (Surprise, surprise!)
I used my own franken as the base color, then I created the flowers using OPI Get In The Expresso Lane, Rimmel London Posh Spice, Essence Love This City & Barry M Peach Melba and my dotting tool. I applied red and orange rhinestones in the center of the flowers.

NOTD: 26!

Hey guys =) Sorry for the hiatus lately, I've been on a well-needed vacation =) Now I'm back and regular posting shall continue! =D
Today is my 26th Birthday. It feels weird to be 26, I don't know why. Maybe I'm starting to feel like my childhood is finally over... (Yes, all this time I've been denying that fact, lol!)
For my manicure today I didn't have a genius idea, so I just arranged the rhinestones that they formed hearts and the digits 2 and 6. The polishes are, from pinky to thumb, Rimmel Lemon Drop, Konad Pastel Purple, Essie Absolutely Shore, Konad Pastel Pink and Konad Pastel Purple again.

The rhinestones have already fallen off, so I'm going to repeat this manicure tonight, and I'm going to seal the stones with glue. I'm going for a simpler look, though; the nails will be an uniform color and the rhinestones are going to be clear.
Oh, by the way my nails had gotten long again and suddenly I voluntarily decided to cut them all the way down, for a cuter look =) Am I weird or what?

Herkese selam =) Son zamanlarda istemeden bir mola vermiş oldum, çünkü aniden tatile gittim. Şimdi döndüğüme göre düzenli bir şekilde yazmaya devam edebilirim =D
Bugün doğumgünüm. 26 yaşındayım artık ve bu bana garip hissettiriyor, neden bilmiyorum. Sanırım bunca yıl inkar etmiş olsam da artık çocukluk bitti =) Ben de buna inat çocuksu ve renkli bir manikür yaptım. Tırnaklarımı rengarenk boyadım ve küçük taşlarla kalpler ve 2 ile 6 rakamlarını oluşturdum. Ojeler soldan sağa Rimmel Lemon Drop, Konad Pastel Purple, Essie Absolutely Shore, Konad Pastel Pink ve tekrar Konad Pastel Purple.
Bu manikürü gece yaptım ve sabah kalktığımda taşların bazılarının düşmüş olduğunu gördüm. Akşam için tekrar benzer bir manikür yapacağım, ama bu sefer kıyafetime göre tek renk sürüp üstüne şeffaf taşlarla 26 yazmayı düşünüyorum.
Ha bu arada tırnaklarım tekrar eski boyuna gelmişti ve birden kendi isteğimle tırnaklarımı kısalttım, sanırım sevimli bir boyda olmalarını özlemiştim =) Kendime inanamıyorum, zorunlu olarak kısaltmaktan bık, sonra da hmm yeterince uzun kullandım diye kısa kes. Ama şu an çok mutluyum, biraz uzasınlar o boyda tutacağım sanırım uzun bir süre =)

Pink Wednesday: Subtle Spring

Hey guys =) Here is my Pink Wednesday mani on Thursday =) Yesterday I had no opportunity to take pictures, but today I finally found time to take pictures & write a post.
For this manicure, I first applied 3 coats of Essie Topless & Barefoot. Then I stamped the flower image from bm06 in konad pink pearl & Sally Hansen Lickety - Split Lime. I added green rhinestones in the middle of the pink flowers, and pink ones in the middle of green flowers. I'm calling it "Subtle Spring", because this manicure is subtle, yet very fresh and spring-y. =)

Bu manikür için önce 3 kat Essie Topless & Barefoot sürdüm. Daha sonra bm06 diskindeki deseni konad'ın pembe sedefli ojesi ve Sally Hansen Lickety - Split Lime ile damgaladım. Pembe çiçeklerin ortasına yeşil, yeşil çiçeklerin ortasına ise pembe taşlar ekledim. Bu manikür hem ilkbahar renklerinde, hem de fazla göze batmayan bir tarzda oldu.

NOTD: Parrots

Hello guys =) Is it weird that I'm being inspired by SIX earrings this often? SIX accessories are my all-time favorite, followed closely by Pieces. I'm getting at least 5 pieces from SIX every month! I always find some awesome stuff whenever I visit them, plus they do some really elaborate, unique, high quality accessories for a decent price. (Accessorize, I'm looking at you!) This time, I found these awesome parrots, and I had to have them in my life. Just awesome. Look at the detail of those!


I knew I was going to turn these earrings to a manicure as soon as I had them in my hands. I used American Apparel Mount Royal, Catrice I Sea You, OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui, Essie Going Incognito and Essie Coat Azure. I outlined everything with Golden Rose nail art pen in gold. I also used orange rhinestones from Born Pretty Store for the eyes.



On the picture my pinky looks a bit blurry, it's actually the tail part of the parrots.

Herkese merhaba =) Acaba SIX küpelerinin her birinin beni manikür yapmaya teşvik etmesi normal mi? =D SIX aksesuarlarına bayılıyorum, her gittiğimde o kadar harika şeyler görüyorum ki almadan duramıyorum. Her ay ortalama 5 ürün falan alıyorum, bazen küpe, bazen broş, bazen yüzük... Hem kaliteli, hem özgün hem de detaylı takılar var, üstelik fiyatlar gerçekten makul. (Accessorize, sözüm sana!) Bu seferki gidişimde bu papağanları keşfettim ve aklım gitti. Bir saniye bile tereddüt etmeden aldım =) Baksanıza ne kadar detaylı yapmışlar.
Ve tabi ki küpelerin renklerinden esinlendim ve manikür yapmaya karar verdim. Kullandığım ojeler American Apparel Mount Royal, Catrice I Sea You, OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui, Essie Going Incognito ve Essie Coat Azure. Daha sonra Golden Rose nail art ojesinin altın rengi olanıyla çizgileri yaptım. Ayrıca Born Pretty Store'un gönderdiği taşlardan turuncu olanlarını da gözler için kullandım.

From The Vault: Past Week

Hello everyone! I've been missing for the past week - first I was infected with flu and it was a very persistent one, I was even prescribed an IV bag and 5 different pills to speed up the recovery. Then I went to this place:


Do you know which city I'm talking about? German folks probably guessed right, I was in Munich for the Easter holidays =) Sadly I was too sick to remember that it was Easter, shops were closed! O_o We were lucky to have them opened on Easter Saturday, though, and I could get my hands on Nintendo 3DS Aqua Blue! =DDD And my brother got it in Cosmo Black. It's sold for about 360 EUR in my country, and I only got it for about 220 EUR! (249 EUR minus Tax.) Anyone wants to exchange friend cards? Just e-mail me!

Other than that, we visited Deutsches Museum, Dachau Concentrations Camp, Olympic Village and Starnberg Lake =) Here is a picture of me and my brother, near Olympic Park Lake =)

I really liked the combination of Fiercely Fiona with purple =)
Finally, here is a design inspired by the tape manicures of Erika. She is amazingly talented & creative with her Scotch tape manicures, I'm always inspired by how amazing such simple ideas can look! Here is my first try, using Essence Dress For A Moment, black and China Glaze IDK:



German tap water doesn't agree well with my skin. Look how dry & ragged the skin on my fingers looks! Even Lemony Flutter didn't help much. I guess it's a matter of getting used to a new environment.

Herkese merhaba! Bir haftadan fazladır yoktum - öncelikle çok inatçı bir gribe yakalandım, en sonunda serum bağlayıp beş tane ilaç & kesin istirahat vermek zorunda kaldı doktor. İşe gidemedim, hatta yataktan bile pek çıkmadım. Sonra biraz kendime geldiğimde hop, ver elini Münih gibi bir durum oldu.
Normalde önemli günleri yakından takip eden biri olduğum halde, hastayım diye mi bilinmez, Paskalya olduğu tamamen aklımdan çıkmış! Bir gittik ki her yer kapalı. Allahtan biraz şansımız vardı da Cumartesi günü dükkanlar açıldı. Böylece ben ve kardeşim birer Nintendo 3DS alabildik =) Buradaki fiyatı 800 TL iken, Tax Free oluşunu da hesaba katarak 500 Lira gibi bir fiyata gelmiş oldu. Friend Card değiş tokuş etmek isteyen olursa, bana mail atsin =)
Bunun dışında Deutsches Museum, Dachau Toplama Kampı, Olimpik Köy ve Starnberg Gölü'ne gittik =) Resimde ben ve kardeşim Olimpik Park Gölü'nün kenarında, 25°C'ye varan sıcaklıkta yayılıyoruz =) Kemiklerim ısındı valla, yoksa zor iyileşirdim herhalde...
Yaptığım başka bir manikür, OPI Fiercely Fiona üzerine Hello Kitty Fauxnad diski ile mor çiçekler. Sarıyla mor kontrast renkler olduğu için çok uyumlu oluyor, ama benimkisi biraz aceleye geldi.
Son olarak, Erika'nın muhteşem bant manikürlerinden esinlendiğim bir desen. Bant manikürlerinde o kadar basit fikirlerden yola çıkarak o kadar harika gözüken şeyler yapıyor ki, aklım gidiyor! Bu da benim ilk denemem, Essence Dress For A Moment, siyah ve China Glaze IDK kullandım.
Bu arada Almanya'nın çeşme suyu ya kireçli ya da genel olarak çok sert, çünkü elimi yıkadıktan sonra sanki aseton değmiş gibi derim kabuk kabuk soyuluyor. Lemony Flutter bile işe yaramadı, sanırım alışmak gerekiyor olmaması için...

Review: Born Pretty Store Items

What's up guys? I'm still ill, today I barely moved in order to spare energy for tomorrow. I just spiked a fever, too. I really hope today's the worst day and I'll be able to go to work tomorrow.
In the afternoon I was feeling a bit better, so I tried the new items Jessica from Born Pretty Store sent me for review. I received a set of stamping plates, including the Hello Kitty one. I also received a rhinestone wheel (2 mm) and a matte polish which goes by the brand name BK.
I first tried the nail polish. On the bottom it says #10. The polish is really nice. I don't know anything about the ingredients because the label is written in Chinese, I applied 2 coats over a base coat, just to be safe. It's a bright pink but not neon. Dries to a smooth, satiny matte finish. And it's gorgeous with a topcoat, too.

Mom really, really liked this look. She's supporting matte pink nails right now. She has olive skin and it looks amazing on her.



I also tried the Hello Kitty plate and the new rhinestones. The images on my index and middle nails are from my Essence plate. Hello Kitty, flower and the heart pattern all come from the Born Pretty Store fauxnad plates. The rhinestones I used might look like clear ones, but they actually have a rainbow effect, which reminds me of Swarovski Aurora Borealis.
I like the items a lot, especially the Hello Kitty plate, the BK matte pink polish and the rhinestones =)

Sevgili okuyucularım, nasılsınız?Ben hala hastayım, bugün resmen enerji tasarrufu modundaydım, sürekli hareketsiz durmaya çalıştım çünkü yarın işe gitmem gerekiyor mutlaka. Bu arada akşamüstü ateşim de çıktı. Tek umudum bugünün en kötü gün olması ve yarın sabah biraz daha iyi kalkmak.
Öğlen biraz daha iyi hissediyordum, bu yüzden Born Pretty Store'dan Jessica'nın göndermiş olduğu ürünleri denemeye karar verdim. Yolladıkları arasında diskler (Hello Kitty diski de aralarında), içinde 2 mm'lik taşlar bulunan bir çember ve BK marka mat bir oje var.
Öncelikle ojeyi denedim. Şişenin altında #10 yazıyor. Oje çok hoşuma gitti, sürümü ve fırçası çok güzel, rengi de öyle. İçeriği hakkında hiçbir fikrim yok çünkü etiketinde çince yazıyor. Ne olur ne olmaz diye alta baz sürün böyle içeriğinden emin olamadığınız ojelerde. Ben baz üzerine 2 kat sürdüm. Rengi tarif etmek gerekirse sıcak tonlu, parlak bir pembe; ancak neon değil. Kuruduğunda yüzeyi düzgün, saten gibi mat bir hal aldı. Ben bir de üzerine cila sürdüm sonra, inanılmaz hoşuma gitti o hali de =)
İlk resimde ojenin mat halini görüyorsunuz. Annem bu rengi çok beğendi, şu anda mat haliyle tırnaklarında. O bana kıyasla daha buğday tenli, ve onun tenine çok yakıştı mat pembe oje.
Ben daha sonra Hello Kitty diskini ve taşları denedim. İşaret ve orta parmağımdaki desenler, Essence diskinden. Geri kalan desenlerin hepsi yeni gelen Fauxnad disklerinden. Kullandığım taşlar şeffaf gibi dursa da, aslında hafif bir gökkuşağı etkisi var. Daha önce denk gelmemişti böyle taş, Swarovski Aurora Borealis taşlarına benziyor. Merak ediyorsanız Google'da aratın, daha iyi anlayacaksınız =) Diğer taşlar ise normal renklerde.

Essie Turkey Best Combination Contest

Hello guys =) This post is kinda rushed and the pictures came out all funny because it was night when I took them & I can't fit in a lightbox =D
Essie Turkey is holding a contest for April, the contestants should match their Essie polish with clothes & accessories, and get creative with it. Now that I'm working, I didn't have much time, but I managed to create three different combinations. Finally I settled with these three combinations. Again, sorry for the crappy picture quality, my HD cam tends to make the skin come out in vivid colors when it's night.

I had a dress in these exact colors when I was a child, salmon and mint green, with huge polka dots. =)
The heart ring is from Accessorize, and the earrings are from SIX. The T-Shirt is from Bershka, the cardigan is from Pull & Bear.

Essie Turkey, Nisan ayi icin bir yarisma duzenledi. Bu yarismanin kuralina gore yarismacilar bir kiyafet ve aksesuar kombinasyonunu bir Essie ojesiyle tamamlayacak. Calistigim icin fazla zamanim olmuyor ama yine de uc farkli kombinasyon hazirlayabildim. Belki de tek bir manikure odaklansam daha iyi olurdu, ama aklimdaki fikirleri bire dusuremedim cunku tum Essie ojelerimi cok seviyorum, bana kalsa 30 tane kombinasyon yapardim =) Eger bu kombinasyonlardan birini begendiyseniz, ilgili linke tiklayin ve Facebook'da resmi begenin, boylece oy vermis olacaksiniz =) En fazla oyu alan iki kisi 100 TL degerinde hediye kuponu kazanacak. NOTD: Chanel Inspired - Fleurs d'Ete

Hello guys =) Thank you for the amazing reaction to my giveaway, I'm glad you liked the prizes =)
I'm posting this but I totally forgot about my Photobucket Pro Account was due to expire today. If you can't see the pictures, just be patient and I will take care of it tomorrow ^-^
Lately I got hold of a small pack of Chanel nail decals, and I let those creative juices flowing =D So many ideas came to my mind, but first I wanted to do a Fleurs d'Ete inspired manicure.


The colors really blew me away, so summery! Yellows, peaches, sky blue... I wanted to do something of a similar effect, but it didn't quite came out the way I wanted.



For this manicure I used China Glaze Peachy Keen on my middle nail, and a sky blue franken on all other nails. The flowers were freehanded, using China Glaze High Hopes & Essie Haute as Hello (coral flowers) and Inglot #968 & China Glaze Happy Go Lucky (yellow flowers). The Chanel decal (originally gold) was painted over with white nail polish & placed on the middle nail with the help of topcoat.
I must work on some flower designs. Mine come out too abstract =/
Oh, by the way, did you notice that my middle nail was a false nail? Because mine broke again ^-^

Yeni yazıyı koyuyorum ama Photobucket hesabımın süresinin bugün dolduğunu tamamen unutmuşum ben =/ Eğer resimleri göremezseniz yarına kadar sabredin, yarın tekrar aktive edeceğim =)
Birkaç gün önce elime bir paket Chanel tırnak süsü geçti, o andan beri kafamda yüzlerce Chanel temalı manikür fikri oluştu. Ama öncelikle, yaz koleksiyonu olan Fleurs d'Ete den ilham alan bir manikür yapmak istedim.
Koleksiyonun renkleri beni büyüledi, tam yazlık! Sarılar, şeftali renkleri, gök mavisi... Ben de bu renkleri içeren bir manikür yapmaya karar verdim ama çok da hayalimdeki gibi olmadı.
Bu manikürde orta tırnağımda China Glaze Peachy Keen, geri kalanlarında ise kendi yaptığım gök mavisi bir oje kullandım. Çiçekleri elimle çizdim, kullandığım ojeler China Glaze High Hopes & Essie Haute as Hello (mercan rengi çiçekler) ve Inglot #968 & China Glaze Happy Go Lucky (sarı çiçekler). Normalde altın rengi olan Chanel süsünü ojeyle beyaza boyadım ve cila yardımıyla tırnağıma sabitledim.
Biraz çiçek deseni çalışmam gerek. İstediğim gibi olmuyor pek, daha somut görünen çiçekler yapmak istiyorum...
Bu arada, orta tırnağım takma, fark ettiniz mi? O kadar feci kırıldı ki daha yeni oluşuyor beyaz kısmı =/ Günlük hayatta yara bandı takıyorum o tırnağıma ^-^
