Pink Wednesday: Neon Polka Dots

Hello guys =) I've been pretty busy recently, so I must have skipped, like, eleventeen Pink Wednesdays! =) This Wednesday I supported this manicure, but I never really had time to write a post about it. It somehow reminds me of Minx, so bright and cheerful, and also foil-like.
I started off by painting my nails with Alix Avien #231, which is similar to Orly Shine. Bright silver foil, and unlike chrome, it doesn't show brushstrokes. Then I took out my dotting tool & all my neon polishes. I used NOX Twilight Crush, China Glaze Pool Party, China Glaze Flip-Flop Fantasy, China Glaze Sun Worshipper, China Glaze Yellow Polka Dot Bikini and Essie Bright Tights. I created diagonal lines using the smaller side of the dotting tool. I skipped topcoat, because matte dots over silver foil look pretty interesting.

You should see this one under a black light, it's soooo awesome! I almost hurt my eyes because I was so fascinated by the way it looks in the dark =) The picture below doesn't do the IRL version any justice:

Edit: Here is a better picture of my thumb:

I really recommend this look if you're going to a club or a place with a black light where you can enjoy a neon polish at its fullest!

NOTD: Reflets D'Or

For this Chanel inspired manicure I've come up with a name which sounds like something Chanel would name an eyeshadow quad or a nail polish. I used two polishes for this manicure, a black creme and China Glaze 2030, a gold chrome. The metallic Chanel decals are from eBay, one of my friends has donated me about 50 pieces. The ends stick out a bit, but I've pressed them firmly on a brush handle to bend them slightly. I painted the decal on my thumb with black polish, and let it dry for about 10 minutes. I stamped the design from m83 in gold and black, and also the bead design from m62 on my thumb. I put a tiny drop of topcoat on my thumb and middle nails, and pressed the Chanel decals on top. After holding them like that about a minute, I topped everything with Sally Hansen Insta Dri. The final picture is of my right hand, for which I reversed the colors.

Looks rich, but it's pretty economic =D
Oh, by the way, what I'm holding is a Chanel eyeshadow quad =)

NOTD: My Pretty Little Leopard

I've been writing this blog for more than one and a half year, yet I have never shared a realistic leopard or zebra manicure. I'm a girl of unusual color combinations, but this time I sat down and did a leopard manicure with appropriate colors.
I used China Glaze 2030 as my base color, then I stamped the leopard print from m57 in black, and added China Glaze Platinum Gold in the middle of the leopard spots with a dotting tool. It reminds me of a Minx manicure, and I'm happy with the results! =) I should come up with other realistic looking animal print manicures in the future =)

My nails haven't felt so extravagant for a while now =) I hope you like this manicure!

From The Vault: Romantique Rose Garden

This is the last manicure I've worn before I filed down & shaped my nails a bit. (As seen here.) The base is OPI Bubble Bath, stamped with various China Glaze Chrome and Romantique colors, such as Adore, Admire, Emotion, Harmony, 2030 and Metallic Muse and of course, image plate m76. I also added some stripes using a tiny brush and China Glaze Tinsel, because I was bored.

Right hand:

Finally a question:

Would you keep Orly Green With Envy if you already had China Glaze Four Leaf Clover and they looked even more similar IRL? I just got it home, and I swatched them side by side on a piece of plastic, and they look very close under various lights, even more than the picture/bottles show. I guess I'm going get another Orly instead, but I'm not sure if this counts as a "different color". Need opinions! =D

NOTD: You Don't Know Jacques!

Hello everyone =)
I'm finally wearing YDKJ, and it's an amazing color. So edgy, stylish, feminine. I adore it. I've spiced it up a bit using China Glaze Metallic Muse and plate s09 on my ring fingers. And pink rhinestones from Konad.

I want to thank anyone who nominated me for Best Blog Award. <3<3<3 Unfortunately I can't nominate just a few people, because there are more than a hundred blogs I follow and I care for. I think every one of them is unique and a must-see. I'm giving this award to everyone on my blogroll =)

NOTD: Butterflies, again

Yesterday I found a silver chrome polish, which made me really happy. I can stamp with it, and I thought it was impossible with Turkish brands. Although it's not as opaque as Romantiques or Khromes, it's a good substitute, and clearly visible on the nail. Anyway, I used the silver as a base, it was opaque in one coat, but I did two. Then I stamped using image plate m41 and special polish in black. The topcoat is bubbly, I know, it indicates that I need a new one =) I mattified the whole thing using China Glaze Matte Magic. There is a rhinestone sitting on my middle nail, because I nicked it right after I finished putting the topcoat on.

If you can feel the uncreativity these days, it's normal =) I sleep through the day and study through the night, I'm moody, bemused, cranky the whole time. I hope it's over soon, and I hope I'll survive the stress!
Oh, I keep forgetting about my Blog Award. Shame on me. I'll make up for it, I promise =(

NOTD: Khrome Flowers

Sorry for the lack of updates in the last few days... I had minimal connection to the internet, plus my last mani chipped the day I had put it on, before I could even take a picture, and I had no time to change it for three days, imagine such a thing! =D Anyway, today I really sat down for the sake of this manicure, and I think it turned out nicely. I know the name I've invented is totally lame, but I hope the mani makes it up for it =)
I started with two coats of China Glaze Metallic Muse. Actually one coat is enough, but I use Mavala Ridge Filler and it caused Metallic Muse to pull and left large gaps on the nails, which was very strange. So I did 2. Then I did a diagonal design on the tips with black polish, and stamped the tips with Metallic Muse & konad plate m73. Then I stamped the bottoms with konad special polish in black and plate m51.

With flash:

I just adore the Khromes. They are so mirror like! I wish they were more forgiving, too, but they provide great coverage, which is such a huge plus for us konad lovers.
My right hand is the mirror version of my left. It came out pretty neat, too, I just forgot to take a picture of it.
When you do things like diagonal tips or generally freehand something, do you try to make them symmetrical, too? I know Konad is not to be applied symmetricaly, and honestly, I don't care, but I try to provide symmetry when I freehand something. =)
